In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of the use of song in teaching Turkish as a foreign language on the student's academic success and improving the existence of words. Tokat Gaziosmanpasa University Turkish teaching practice and Research Center for this purpose, a study group of 36 foreign citizens studying in the study of the data of the study was carried out. During the data collection process, five activities were designed, consisting of filling gaps, puzzles and creating a list of words for two Turkish songs, which were selected by the researcher taking into account expert opinions. The Working Group was homogeneously divided into control and experimental group, and the words in the designed activities were taught to the control group through direct expression and to the experimental group with songs. At the end of the activities, the experimental group was asked a question by the researcher about whether they found the application useful, and the research was evaluated in light of the students ' responses to this question. In a study using the mixed research method, the quantitative data of the study was revealed by the comparative equalized groups final test model, and the qualitative data was revealed by the semi-structured interview technique. The quantitative data obtained were described by the T-test for dependent samples through the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 22.0 package program, while the qualitative data were interpreted by the content analysis method. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the use of songs improved the presence of words of foreign students who made up the working group, as well as that they found the use of songs useful in teaching foreign languages and increased their interest in Turkish music.

Urbanization, born with the new production and consumption tools that emerged after the Industrial Revolution, has influenced the world over time. This process has developed simultaneously with transportation and communication technologies. Therefore, in the new cultural environment, communication tools have started to be effective in the cultural acquisition process of the individual rather than family, relatives and other social environment. Thus, the effect of traditional information transfer systems has decreased. In this process, television has become a media tool that has significant effects especially on children. Therefore, the structure and purpose of the cultural content watched on television has gained importance. In this context, the subject of the article is the cartoon series "Nasreddin Hoca Zaman Yolcusu" broadcast on TRT Cocuk, a thematic channel. The aim of the article is to examine the role of television in the process of updating the tradition through the selected sample. Within the scope of the study, thirty episodes of the cartoon series were watched from the beginning. These sections were analyzed with content analysis technique. In the cartoon series, Nasreddin Hodja anecdote type is confronted with today's issues and the audience is shown his humorous, philosophical, critical and instructive attitude. Each episode in the series is based on a separate case study. In the series, various topics such as transportation, urbanization, shopping and consumption culture, environmental problems, animal rights, and the effects of technology are discussed. The cartoon named “Nasreddin Hoca Zaman Yolcusu” is an example of updating a tradition produced based on the field of cultural indicators represented by Nasreddin Hodja anecdote type.

This study aims to reveal the similarities and differences between French and Nubian languages regarding the internal structure of their noun phrases and the order of the constituents in their simple and complex noun phrases. To this end, the contrastive analysis (CA) is applied which is composed of three steps as (1) description; (2) juxtaposition; (3) comparison. The contrastive analysis in this study shows that French and Nubian languages have many differences regarding the placement of a head noun, the placement of an adjective of size and quality, the placement of numerals and the case marker in a complex noun phrase and share fewer similarities such that both languages can use two adjectives successively in a complex noun phrase. The findings of this study contribute to comparative historical linguistics to establish language genealogy, to typological linguistics to create language taxonomies, to translation studies to investigate problems of equivalence in creating bilingual dictionaries.

The purpose of this research is to reveal teachers' perceptions of competence towards using alternative measurement and evaluation techniques. Participants of the study are teachers working in primary, secondary and high schools in Sivas city center. The data were collected between September and November 2019. In the study, “self-efficacy scale for alternative measurement and evaluation approaches” was used to collect data. Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was examined and it was concluded that the scale was reliable. The data obtained were examined in terms of normal distribution and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test showed that the data were distributed normally. Independent groups t-test was used for the participants' gender, educational status and in-service training, and ANOVA test was used for the education level and seniority variables. As a result of the research, it was found that teachers' perceptions of competence towards using alternative measurement and evaluation techniques did not make a significant difference according to gender. It was concluded that there was a significant difference in terms of educational status, in-service training, education level and seniority variables. As a result of the research, it is suggested that teachers should be encouraged to do postgraduate education in order to ensure their personal development and that teachers should be supported by establishing a measurement and evaluation unit in the school.

This study aims to examine ELT students’ intercultural awareness levels according to various variables. To attain this goal, a scale measuring intercultural awareness was developed in the first phase. The scale development process was carried out with data of 207 ELT students studying in a state university. After collecting the data, exploratory factor analysis was computed, and a 24-item scale was obtained as a result of the AFA. The developed scale was administered to a different group of students consisting of 182 students (Male=71, Female=111). The collected data were analysed considering the extraneous variables like gender, grade, presence abroad and the number of been abroad. Since the test of normality results pointed out the skew distribution among all the variables, comparisons were made through non-parametric analysis techniques. The results showed that the students’ intercultural awareness did not significantly change according to their genders, grades, or the number of been abroad; however, their intercultural awareness significantly changed according to their presence abroad. According to the results, the students having been abroad had higher intercultural awareness compared to the ones who did not go abroad.

The Ilinden Uprising, which broke out in the August of 1903, has caused a widespread wave of disturbance on the Ottoman Roumelia. Within the uprising, the Bulgarian committees, which are also supported by Bulgaria, sparkled a rebellion against the Ottoman State by provoking the Bulgarian subjects of the Ottoman State. In the rebellion within which Ottoman military and administrative units were attacked, the Muslim villages were burnt and Muslim civilians were massacred by the Bulgarian armed bands. The Ilinden Uprising has been viewed by some academic studies as a subtitle in their works however there aren’t any studies which widely evaluated the Ottoman state archives in a wider aspect. In this work, the significant events of the Ilinden Uprising including the Krushevo incident have been examined by widely evaluating the Ottoman archive papers on the matter.

Within the uprising, the Bulgarian committees, which are also supported by Bulgaria, sparkled a rebellion against the Ottoman State by provoking the Bulgarian subjects of the Ottoman State. In the rebellion within which Ottoman military and administrative units were attacked, the Muslim villages were burnt and Muslim civilians were massacred by the Bulgarian armed bands. Bu calisma, Turkce ogretmeni adaylarinin geri bildirimlerinde teknoloji destekli ogretim ile geleneksel ogretim yonteminin etkisini belirlemeyi amaclamaktadir. Calisma, statik grup karsilastirmali desenle uygulanmistir. 2016-2017 egitim-ogretim yillarinda Hatay Mustafa Kemal Universitesi Egitim Fakultesi Turkce Ogretmenligi Bolumu 3. Sinif ogrencileri deney grubu (25), kontrol grubu (30) kisi ile calisilmistir. Veri toplama araclari olarak “Teknoloji Algi Olcegi, Bilgisayar Yeterlik Olcegi ve Geri Bildirim Bilgi Duzeylerini Belirleme Testi (Tinmaz, 2004)” ile arastirmaci tarafindan gelistirilen “Metin yazma formu ve Geribildirim degerlendirme rubrigi” kullanilmistir. Verilerin analizinde betimsel istatstik (frekans, yuzde ve aritmetik ortalama) ve geri bildirim duzeylerinin (bicim, icerik, metin turu, dil ve uslup) karsilastirilmasinda Mann Whitney U testi; bilgisayar yeterlik duzeylerinin ve bilgisayara yonelik algilarinin belirlenmesinde ise bagimsiz orneklem t testi analizi kullanilmistir. Deney ve kontrol grubunun almis olduklari egitim sonrasinda verdikleri geleneksel ve teknolojik bildirimler cesitli analiz yontemleri ile cinsiyet, sinif, metin turu gibi degiskenler acisindan incelenmis ve istatistiksel olarak karsilastirilmistir. Elde edilen veriler sonucunda ogretmen adaylarinin bilgisayar yeterliliklerinin orta duzeyde oldugu tespit edilmistir. Teknoloji kullanimina yonelik algilari arasinda ise anlamli bir fark bulunmamaktadir.

Olusturulan taslak rubrigin kapsam gecerliginin saglanmasinda uzman gorusu alinarak Lawshe teknigi kullanilmistir. Kapsam gecerlik indeksi 0.867 olarak bulunmustur. Guvenirlik saglamasi icin hem uygulamalar arasi hem de madde boyutunda Agirlikli Kappa Katsayisina bakilmistir. Uygulamalar arasi agirlikli kappa katsayisi 1,00 bulunarak mukemmel uyum oldugu tespit edilmistir. Madde boyutunda ise agirlikli kappa katsayisi “bireysel farkliliklari dikkate alma” boyutunda 0,688, “on bilgilerin ortaya cikarilmasi” boyutunda 0,565, “bilginin yeniden yapilandirilmasi” boyutunda 0,661, “bilginin uygulanmasi” boyutunda 0,667, “farkli ogretim yontemleri ve teknikleri kullanma” boyutunda “0,559, isbirligi” boyutunda 0,552 ve “yansitma” boyutunda 1,00 bulunmustur.
