Objective: Hypertension (HT) is the second most commonly diagnosed disease in Turkey and a global health problem. This study aimed to develop a scale to be used in HT prevention by investigating attitudes that might prevent HT in individuals who have a family member with HT. Materials and Methods: In this methodological study “Attitudes Scale towards Prevention of HT(ASPH)” was developed. For the scale validity and reliability analyzes were performed: For content validity expert views were received, for construct validity [principle component analysis (Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin(KMO), Bartlett test, eigenvalues-explained variance, scree

Objective: Our study aimed to examine the treatment compliance of patients using warfarin and investigate the effect of sociodemographic characteristics and treatment-related knowledge levels on the target INR value. Method: It is a cross-sectional, descriptive study. In the study, three different questionnaire forms, namely Sociodemographic Information Form, Clinical Data Form, and Modified Morisky Scale (MMS), were used as data collection tools. Descriptive statistics are presented as percentage, mean and standard deviation. The normal distribution suitability of the variables was investigated using the Kolmogorov Smirnov Test. Chi-square test, Mann-Whitney U test, and t-test were used to compare data. The statistical significance level in the analysis was accepted as p<0.05. Results: A total of 104 patients who agreed to participate in the study within the specified date range were included. 30.8% of the patients participating in the study were using warfarin due to cerebrovascular disease, 19.2% due to atrial fibrillation, and 13.5% due to having a prosthetic heart valve. 78.8% of the patients stated that they received training on using warfarin, and 82.9% of those who received training stated that they received this training from a doctor. According to MMS, 68.3% of the patients had high motivation, and 49% had a high level of knowledge. The motivation of the patients living in rural areas, who did not receive training on warfarin, did not go to regular health checkups, and that warfarin did not interact with other drugs and foods was significantly lower (p<0.05). The rate of being in the target INR value range was higher in patients living with their families (p<0.05). Conclusion: Drug compliance and INR values of patients using warfarin are affected by their education about warfarin, regular health check-ups, knowing that warfarin interacts with other drugs and foods, warfarin use time, knowing the INR interval, and living with their family. It is important to take precautions for these factors in the follow-up and training of the patients.

Objective: It is to determine the frequency of exclusive breastfeeding in the first six months and continued breastfeeding at the end of the first year in the primary care population, and the effects of mothers’ socio-demographic and breastfeeding characteristics on these. Methods: The cross-sectional and analytical study was performed in Aydın Efeler district between 01 October and 31 December, 2019. The population of the study consisted of 3675 infants aged 12-24 months who received service from the Family Health Centers (FHC) in the district. Of the 160 participants determined by the power analysis, 120 of them were planned to be interviewed in urban and 40 in rural FHCs. A total of 225 (55 rural, 170 urban) participants were reached. The data collection form prepared to collect information on sociodemographic characteristics and breast feeding was applied face to face by the researcher. Results: 51.1% (115) of infants with a mean age of 19.1±5.0 months (median 18.0; between 12-24 months) were girls. Exclusive breast feeding duration of infants participating in the study was 3.5±2.4 months in average and exclusive breast feeding rate was 32.9% (74) in the first six months. The infants were breast fed for an average duration of 10.2±3.4 months and the rate of infants continuing breast feeding at the end of one year was 74.7% (168). In the first six months the probability of exclusive breastfeeding and the probability of continuing breastfeeding at the end of one year were higher; in infants who started breastfeeding with in the first hour after birth than those who did not (p=0,007), in infants who do not use pacifiers or bottles than those who use it (p=0,000) and in infants who are breastfed for 15 minutes or more in the first month than those who are not breastfed (p=0,003). The probability of continuing breastfeeding at the end of one year was higher in infants only looked after by their mothers compared to infants of supported mothers (p=0,007). Conclusion: The infant sucking each breast for at least 15 minutes during a breast-feeding session especially in the first months and increasing the time the mother spends with her infant positively effects breast feeding. Providing information and training on breastfeeding to caregivers by family physicians will increase the intake of breast milk by children during infancy. It is important to increase awareness on this issue at the community level.

Aim: Spiritual leadership is a leadership model which aims to improve productivity by meeting the spiritual needs of workers that both strengthen the connection with the other workers and the organization that the workers are the part of it. On the other hand, burnout syndrome is a concept which occurs especially in people who work face to face with other people that causes a decrease in both productivity and service quality. In the research, it is aimed to evaluate the relation comparatively between the terms spiritual leadership and burnout syndrome among the residents in the internal and surgical sciences. Material and Method: 206 medical residents who work at the training and research hospital between the dates 10.01.2020 and 12.01.2020 were voluntarily included in the study. Our study is a prospective, cross-sectional survey study. A participant information form consists of 12 questions, Spiritual Leadership Measurement Tool (SLMT) which consists of 21 questions, Maslach Burnout Index (MBI) consists of 3 subscales and 22 questions. IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0 program was used for statistical analysis and calculations. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0,05. Results: 60,2% of the individuals who attended to the research are women, while 39,8% are men. The age average is 28,07±1,86. When the main branch distribution is considered, 53.4% are interior sciences while 46,6% are surgical sciences. The mean SLMT score was 55,43±16,62, MBI’s mean emotional exhaustion score was 22,76±6,99, depersonalization score was 9,81±3,56, and personal accomplishment was 18,81±4,16. Personal accomplishment scores were found to be significantly higher in surgical sciences than in internal sciences. In the study, a negative correlation was detected between SLMT and MBI emotional exhaustion and depersonalization scale, and a positive correlation with the personal accomplishment scale. Conclusion: Due to the obtained data, it is determined that with the actualization of spiritual leadership model the level of burnout syndrome can be reduced. Hence; It may be appropriate to provide training on spiritual leadership and burnout syndrome to all employees working in health institutions, and especially for managers in institutions to adopt the spiritual leadership model.
