This essay will reexamine research on the relationship between human memory and addiction. This paper will review several studies that discussed how memory systems in the human brain are involved in the acquisition of behavior that is learned and is associated with the development of drug addiction and drug relapse. Additional information reveals that when individuals make the transition from recreational drug or impulsive use to compulsive drug abuse, which may result in a neuroanatomical change in areas of the brain from cognitive control guided by the hippocampus/dorsomedial striatum towards conditioned control of behavior managed by the dorsolateral striatum (DLS) [1]. This review also looked at studies that involved experiments with humans and lower animals, which suggested that the hippocampus mediates a cognitive/spatial type of memory, while the dorsal striatum manages stimulus-response (S-R) habit memory, and the amygdala governs the classical conditioning form of learning and stimulus-affective-associative relationships [1]. Overall, these studies utilize the hypothesis of the memory systems view of addiction, and the involvement of learning and memory in the context of drug addiction, which was proposed by them [2]. This theory has been proposed in response to drug addiction research and includes alcohol, amphetamine, and cocaine [1]. The research also explains how stress and anxiety can play a role in how strong emotional excitement can lead to dependent habit memory in rodents and humans [1].

This article delves into the intricate relationship between cognitive science and embodied cognition, offering transformative philosophical insights with profound implications for our understanding of the mind-body connection. In response to the journal’s feedback, we have enhanced the abstract to provide a more comprehensive overview of our study. Background: We trace the historical evolution of ideas, from the inception of cognitive science rooted in analytic philosophy to the groundbreaking contributions of Rodney Brooks and others in the field of artificial intelligence. We also explore the work of scholars such as Agre, Chapman, and Dreyfus, shedding light on the role of cognitive metaphor and the concept of the cognitive unconscious in shaping our understanding of embodied cognition. Purpose: Our study aims to shed light on the central theme that unites these various strands of thought—the rejection of the traditional, transcendental view of the subject in favor of the concept of an embodied subject. This embodied subject actively engages with its environment, shaping consciousness and cognition. This shift in perspective challenges classical epistemological theories and opens new avenues for inquiry. Method: We have conducted a comprehensive literature review to explore the historical development and key concepts in the field of embodied cognition, with a particular focus on the philosophical underpinnings and their integration into cognitive science. Results: Our examination of embodied cognition reveals that the mind is intimately connected to the body, with cognition emerging through interactions with the environment and perceptual experiences. This perspective challenges reductionist notions and demonstrates that mental states cannot be reduced to brain states alone. We also explore the relationship between functionalism and computational states of the brain, illustrating that mental states can be understood in the context of mathematical functions. Conclusion: In conclusion, this paper highlights the profound implications of embodied cognition and suggests that the mind is not isolated from the body but intimately tied to it. This perspective provides a fresh approach to the mind-body problem, emphasizing the role of the environment and perceptual experiences in shaping cognition. We invite further research into the practical applications of embodied cognition in fields like artificial intelligence, robotics, and psychology, and encourage investigations into the intersections between cognitive science and various branches of philosophy, offering valuable insights into the nature of consciousness and cognition. In essence, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the evolution and implications of embodied cognition, laying the groundwork for further research and fostering a deeper appreciation of the profound shifts in perspective that this theory brings to our understanding of the human mind.

Introduction: While oxytocin (OT) is widely recognized for its pivotal role in reproductive behavior and the formation of social bonds, there remains a significant gap in our understanding of its potential influence on learning and memory processes, encompassing both social and non-social aspects. Thus this paper serves as an attempt to investigate the comprehensive role of OT in Physiological, Cognitive, and Behavioral processes. Method: A comprehensive literature review was conducted to assemble evidence related to the influence of OT on learning and memory. Studies encompassing both social and non-social memory were incorporated into the analysis. Additionally, molecular mechanisms through which OT could potentially impact neuronal activity in the hippocampus and amygdala, consequently affecting learning and memory, were also investigated. Results: Our review reveals a spectrum of evidence that both supports and contradicts the theory that OT plays a significant role in social and non-social memory. While certain studies suggest a positive impact of OT on memory, others present findings that argue otherwise. However, multiple potential molecular mechanisms were discovered that may elucidate OT’s effects on learning and memory, particularly its potential to modulate neuronal activity in the hippocampus and amygdala. Conclusion: Despite the mixed evidence, OT might have a significant role in both social and non-social memory. Identified molecular mechanisms propose potential ways in which OT could influence learning and memory. The key role appears to be the modulation of neuronal activity in the hippocampus and amygdala by OT. Furthermore, it is plausible that OT’s function in memory is crucial for the social behaviors previously associated with it. Future research is necessitated to fully unravel the exact mechanisms and implications of OT’s role in learning and memory.

Some basic physics of burgeoning quantum neuroscience is described. Anatomy of the neuron suggests that nonsynaptic mechanisms of signal transmittance occur via electric current acceleration and companion electromagnetic field fluctuation. I have named this mechanism of solution chemistry the ebb effect. Phase-locking between neural structure and electric fields that are emergent from cellular EM field fluctuations, in addition to feedback loops within neural networks, are the probable driver of macroscopic oscillation and flow shapes in the brain. CEMI (conscious electromagnetic information) theory is a promising framework for explaining intentionality and the spectrum of arousal as EM field effects. Relatively low frequency electromagnetic radiation is emitted by the accelerating electric currents of neurons. It is hypothesized that this EM radiation superpositions with molecular structure as it spreads to comprise percepts, the hybrid wavelengths of which form subjective images while wave-length vibrations result in subjective feel. These superposition arrays are termed a coherence field, and in combination with the synchronizing influence of quantum entanglement and electromagnetic fluctuations may constitute much of awareness’ substance. If conclusively verified, coherence field theory should have significance ranging from the treatment of perceptual disorders such as anosognosia to advancing foundational constructs like atomic theory.

Background: Potentially lethal, aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage has a bad prognosis for many individuals. Over the past few decades, endovascular and surgical interventions have been developed, including surgical clipping, and endovascular coiling. Patients who have aSAH are also susceptible to delayed cerebral ischemia and cerebral vasospasm. The aim of this study is to compare the outcome of endovascular coiling with surgical clipping in patients with SAH, specifically in relation to prevalence of vasospasm, in the country of Georgia. Method: In this study, we present a retrospective review of the outcomes of 217 patients with acute subarachnoid hemorrhage who underwent endovascular coiling or surgical clipping. The data were gathered from patients who are admitted to New Vision University Hospital and Caucasus Medical Center in Tbilisi, Georgia, between 2017 and 2022. Results: Vasospasm was prevalent in 217 of the patients who had aneurysmal rupture when they first appeared. Endovascular coiling or strated the most favorable option for treatment is endovascular coiling. However, the treatment choice takes multiple factors into account, and clipping is not ideal for some ruptured aneurysms. Despite the fact that endovascular coiling is usually successful and minimally invasive, complications can occur and additional monitoring and potential surgical intervention are indicated.

The aim of this study is to compare the outcome of endovascular coiling with surgical clipping in patients with SAH, specifically in relation to prevalence of vasospasm, in the country of Georgia. Method: In this study, we present a retrospective review of the outcomes of 217 patients with acute subarachnoid hemorrhage who underwent endovascular coiling or surgical clipping. The data were gathered from patients who are admitted to New Vision University Hospital and Caucasus Medical Center in Tbilisi, Georgia, between 2017 and 2022. Results: Vasospasm was prevalent in 217 of the patients who had aneurysmal rupture when they first appeared. Endovascular coiling or strated the most favorable option for treatment is endovascular coiling. However, the treatment choice takes multiple factors into account, and clipping is not ideal for some ruptured aneurysms. Despite the fact that endovascular coiling is usually successful and minimally invasive, complications can occur and additional monitoring and potential surgical intervention are indicated.","PeriodicalId":23878,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Neuroscience","volume":"21 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87651978","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
