Time resolvedin-situsynchrotron radiation diffraction investigation of grain-growth kinetics in magnetic nanocomposites 磁性纳米复合材料晶粒生长动力学的同步辐射衍射研究

Nanocrystalline powders with nominal composition Co42Fe22Sm22Nb7B4Cu2Ag1 were synthesized by high-energy ball-milling. In the as-milled state, the alloy specimens consist of nanocrystalline α-(Fe,Co). The formation of hard magnetic Sm2Co17 or Sm2Fe17 phases within the surrounding (Fe,Co) matrix during continuous heating was followed by in- situ X-ray diffraction experiments performed at the HASYLAB/DESY synchrotron radiation facility in Hamburg, Germany. The hard magnetic Sm2Co17 nanocrystalline phase forms at temperatures near to 800°C. The temperature evolution of the grain-size distribution was obtained from the integral breadth double-Voigt analysis of the broadening of the (Fe,Co)- matrix X-ray diffraction lines. The kinetics of microstructure coarsening seems to be influ- enced by grain boundary pinning (drag) effects correlated with the formation of a two-phase microstructure.

A method of validating organic and organometallic crystal structures solved using powder diffraction data is presented. It uses searches and comparisons with structures in the Cambridge Structural Database coupled with multivariate analysis and Clustering techniques. An example using sulphonamides is presented. The associated software (dSNAP) is available as a free download.

. The ability of tailoring the dimensional regime of nanoparticle ensembles represents a landmark achievement in nanoscience. A key aspect is, however, the development of appropriate methods of data analyses of these complex objects. We present, here, a new method for interpreting powder diffraction data, based on the use of the Debye Function and suitable to treat data collected on virtually any nanocrystalline material. The method has been presently limited to single-domain particles. Applications of technological interest are also discussed.

High temperature X-ray diffraction investigation of an aluminium-silicon- corundum system 铝-硅-刚玉体系的高温x射线衍射研究

All aluminium products come from melting processes. At the melting temperature, aluminium and its alloys are highly reactive with the metals and the refractories which line the furnace inside. Investigation of interactions of aluminium and its alloys with the refrac- tory materials upon heating is therefore an issue. In this paper this investigation is focused on the model system made of aluminium-silicon mixture at eutectic composition and corundum. In particular, the structural and microstructural features are investigated by high-temperature resolved X-ray diffraction (HTXRD) and bidimensional micro X-Ray diffraction (XRD 2 ). During cooling we followed the crystallization of aluminium and silicon and few single crystallites of a new phase, possibly related to Al19Fe5Si2, were detected by microXRD 2 .
