By weakening the bigger and strengthening the smaller, gaussianization can enhance the gaussianity of samples and improve performance of subsequent correlation test. Firstly, an explicit definition on gaussianizing filter and a practical method to evaluate the filtering performance are given. Secondly, based on the probability density function and its derivate, one typical gaussianizing filters, so-called U-filter, are proposed and studied. Instances with lake trial data are illustrated. Finally, two applications, one in spectrum estimation and the other in Rao test, are discussed.

Flow control scheme for VANET has not been sufficiently studied. In this paper, we consider the unique characteristics in VANET and propose our flow control scheme called Flow Control with Packet living Time prediction (FC-PLT). FC-PLT is based on OPET and mainly solves the interflow contention problem by assigning higher priorities to the packets with less Packet Living Time (PLT) defined as the maximum time redundancy when it arrives at its destination. Simulation results show FC-PLT improves the OPET performance and has higher throughput and lower end-to-end delay.

This paper addresses the problem of musical noise introduced by conventional spectral subtraction method for speech enhancement. A modified spectral subtraction algorithm based on the masking properties of human auditory system is proposed. In comparison with Virag's algorithm, the modification of proposed method is made from four aspects. Firstly, VAD(Voice Activity Detection) is substituted by MCRA(Minima-Controlled Recursive Averaging) algorithm to estimate the background noise; Secondly, the masking threshold is calculated based on enhanced speech by multi-band spectral subtraction method; Thirdly, the adaptive parameters of spectral subtraction method is adjusted; Finally, a modified form of parametric spectral subtraction is employed. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated under ITU-T G.160 standard. The results shows that, comparing with the reference algorithms, the proposed method provides acceptable amount of signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) improvement and noise reduction with a little impact on the level of speech. The objective speech quality is improved evidently at the same time.

A W-band quasi-optical power combiner based on waveguide lens with wide band, low insert-loss, and good combining efficiency is designed in this paper. The quasi-optical power combiner consists of two E-plane sectoral horns with focusing a waveguide lenses for distribution of signals. By adjusting and optimizing parameters of the power combiner in CST continuously, an adequate performance can be obtained. The return-loss characteristic for CST model of the quasi-optical power combiner is better than 18.5dB and the insert-loss is lower than 0.06dB over the frequency band from 91.8GHz to 97.1GHz.

Aiming at the frequency-shifting deceptive jamming to linear frequency modulation pulse compression radars, this paper analyses the jammings caused by the three kinds of jamming signals, which are the single false target jamming, multiple-false targets jamming and multiple-cover jamming. It gives the mathematical expression of the jamming signals after matched filtering and shows the relationship between the frequency-shifting amount and the relative distance of the true and false targets. Besides it analyses the loss of the jamming energy caused by frequency mismatching and offers the theory support to the jammer when setting the jammer power. Finally the simulation is given and the results demonstrate the correctness of the theories.

Considering Amplify-and-Forward cooperative netwok with the help of one or more relay nodes, a relay selection algorithm with Grassmannian beamforming precoder is proposed for the two-hop half-duplex relay channels. This new algorithm, which choose only one relay with the maximal received SNR gain to assist in transmission, can significantly reduce the required number of feedback bits, achieve excellent outage behavior and average throughput, and maintain full diversity order. Simulation results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed scheme approaches to the optimal full feedback scheme with a low complexity, and for actual situation with distance attenuation factor, the performance advantage is also in existence.

In image transformation domain, the energy distribution reflects the image texture feature which contains the orientation relativity among macroblocks. In this paper, a new algorithm aiming at the inter-frame coding for MPEG-2 to AVS transcoder is proposed. Based on the analysis of statistical data, the number of times on intra-coding mode in inter-frame coding is reduced, and then, the P and B frame transcoding time is reduced. At the same time, the image quality only has a little drop. The experiment results show that compared with the cascaded method and other similar algorithms, our proposed algorithm can obtain obvious reduction in transcoding time at the cost of a slight decrease in SNR(Signal Noise Ratio) and a slight increase in bit rate.

In cognitive radio networks, the new open spectrum operation necessitates novel routing protocols to exploit the available spectrum opportunistically. But due to the non-interfering requirement, a spectrum band used by secondary users may be unexpectedly preempted by primary users at any time, which challenges reliable communications. In this paper, we propose a novel spectrum aware on-demand routing protocol which focuses on reliable routing and considers opportunistic spectrum, link disruption, as well as node failure. Simulation results indicate that our proposed routing protocol can efficiently alleviate intermittent connectivity, reduce routing cost, and improve effective payload of data transmission.

An extreme low bit rate speech coding algorithm around 300bps is proposed in this paper. The algorithm builds mixed excitation segment coding model by taking advantage of the segment coder and the MELP coder. Variable dimension matrix quantization (VDMQ) and Variable dimension vector quantization (VDVQ) scheme are presented for quantizing LSP and excitation parameters. These quantization schemes achieve acceptable performance at very low bit rate. Also, the codebook storage is reduced dramatically. Informal subjective listening test shows that the reconstructed speech has high intelligibility and moderate naturalness, the PESQ score can achieve 2.02.

There are considerable residual inter-symbol interferences (ISI) after using frequency domain equalization (FDE) in ultra wideband (UWB) channels which have severe multipath delay spreads. An additional equalizer is usually utilized to cope with the residual ISI, such as decision feedback equalizers (DFE). In this paper, we propose an effective approach to eliminate the residual ISI of equalization where the FDE is combined with M-ary bi-orthogonal keying (MBOK), which converts the UWB channel to a channel similar to AWGN and then achieves very significant gains. Employing theory of zero distribution of channel transfer function, this paper also analyzed parameters which have influence on performance of the MBOK FDE scheme.
