THE IMPACT OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN DEVELOPMENT OF COGNITIVE AND NON-COGNITIVE SKILLS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION STUDENTS 体育活动对体育专业学生认知与非认知技能发展的影响

This study aimed to find out the impact of physical activity in development of cognitive and non-cognitive skills of the physical education students. All male and female physical education students at northern Panjab were the population of current study. Thus, there is dire need to carry-out pragmatic research on theme of sports education and its relationship with cognitive and non-cognitive skills. The Likert scale was used for data collection which cover all aspect of sports and validity and reliability was done accordingly. The collected data was then put into SPSS to tabulate and arrange the data to attain the desired results. Findings of this study revealed that the score of participants and non-participants at both ends between male and female was different. Findings further revealed that the physical activity played a partial role between sports, cognitive and non-cognitive skills among youth of physical education. The physical activity was tested positive and significant in relationship with sports and cognitive skills. This study thus confirmed the significant connection between physical activity and sports in-between cognitive and non-cognitive skills.
本研究旨在了解体育活动对体育专业学生认知技能和非认知技能发展的影响。本研究对象为旁遮普省北部所有男女体育专业学生。因此,迫切需要对体育教育主题及其与认知技能和非认知技能的关系进行语用研究。数据收集采用李克特量表,涵盖了体育运动的各个方面,并据此进行了效度和信度分析。然后将收集到的数据放入SPSS中进行制表和整理,以达到预期的结果。本研究的结果显示,男女两端的参与者和非参与者的得分不同。研究结果进一步表明,体育活动在体育青少年的运动技能、认知技能和非认知技能之间起部分作用。体力活动与运动和认知技能的关系呈阳性且显著。因此,这项研究证实了在认知和非认知技能之间的体育活动和运动之间的重要联系。

DOES THE MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION MATTER IN PAKISTAN? EXAMINING THE DETERMINANT & MODERATORS OF ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENT 巴基斯坦的教学媒介重要吗?大学生学业成绩的决定因素及调节因素研究

The present study aims to investigate the impact of English as a medium of instruction (EMI) on the academic performance of undergrad students, and to explore the moderating effect of geographical location, the medium of secondary schooling and schooling types in these relationship. Hypotheses were tested using SPSS 24.0 with a sample of n=140 student-teacher dyads. Hayes (2013) process macros for SPSS and regression analysis were used as methods. The results show that EMI has a significant positive impact on the academic performance of the students. The moderation analysis reveals that there is not any difference between the performance of students from rural areas and students from urban areas as per results obtained through statistical procedures. Furthermore, the students from non-English medium schools perform comparatively better than students from English medium schools. Likewise, results suggest that there is not any significant difference between performance of the students from the government schools and of students from private schools.

EXPLORING THE INFLUENCE OF WORK OVERLOAD AND JOB STRESS ON EMPLOYEES TURNOVER INTENTIONS 探讨工作负荷和工作压力对员工离职意向的影响

The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of work overload and job stress on employee turnover intentions. This study was explanatory and quantitative in nature based on deductive approach and positivist philosophy. Primary data acquired through close-ended questionnaire based on seven related choices indicating the level of agreement or disagreement from employees of private banks of Mirpurkhas region, which including managers and non-managers. The data acquired through convenience and snow-ball techniques of non-probability sampling. A sum of total 100 managers and non-managers participated in the questionnaire survey. Data analyzed and interpreted by SPSS and PLS-SEM. Response rate of the survey, Cronbach’s alpha and demographic details were found out by SPSS. However, model measurement and verification done through PLS-SEM. The empirical findings supported direct relationships, inter-relationship and mediating effect of job stress with work overload and employee turnover intentions in partular contex.

ON THE PATH TOWARDS OPEN INNOVATION: ASSESSING ROLE OF KNOWLEDGE ORIENTED LEADERSHIP WITH KNOWLEDGE CAPABILITIES 论开放式创新之路:以知识能力评估知识型领导的作用

This paper aims to examine the outcomes of the knowledge-oriented leadership on the organization’s open innovation through the mediating effect of the Knowledge Process Capability and Knowledge Infrastructure Capability and moderating role of Intellectual Capital. Data collection was done from the manufacturing sector through convenient sampling. The sample size was 105 respondents. The questionnaire was used and SEM is applied for the data analysis. The study concluded that there is a direct optimistic relation between KOL and OOI. Mediating role of KPC and KIC between KOL and OOI was found significant. Although the moderating results shows that by adding the intellectual capital as the moderator it increases the Organization’s KPC and KIC and in return organizations will become capable for increasing its open innovation’s targets. This study’s finding can be helpful for employers in adopting better open innovation’s trends with providing significant support for future investigation and research in related field.

RELATIONSHIP OF SHYNESS WITH LIFE SATISFACTION: THE MEDIATING ROLE OF CAREER SUCCESS 羞怯与生活满意度的关系:职业成功的中介作用

This research study describes the mediating effect of career success for the relationship of shyness with life satisfaction. Current research is based on employees of telecom sector of Lahore Pakistan. Current research proposes four hypotheses. 252 employees of telecom sector are randomly selected for collecting data. Three of the hypotheses are about direct relationships and one is about the mediation effect of career success for the relation of shyness with life satisfaction. The study provided the significant results in reaching the conclusion. All the hypotheses are accepted. Moreover, the career success partially mediates relation of shyness with life satisfaction. In future, these types of studies may also conduct on other sectors like the banking sector; textile sector and education sector for validate the results. It is also worthwhile to collect the data from employees of the Government sector of employees. For generalizing the results data will also collect cities like Islamabad, Faisalabad and Karachi.

THE CHALLENGES TO CPEC: FUTURE OF STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT IN THE SOUTH ASIA 中巴经济走廊面临的挑战:南亚战略结盟的未来

Seven decades-long strategic partnership of Pakistan and China has survived all political weathers. Mainly, it grew up in two major domains i.e. political and military cooperation. But in 2015 both countries have entered into a new era of economic cooperation by signing a commercial agreement i.e. China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). It is a flagship project of Chinese strategic plan of socioeconomic and political cooperation through regional connectivity; Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) launched by President Xi Jinping in 2013. Today, CPEC has become a widely discussed aspect of Pak-China relations for several reasons. First, CPEC provides shortest route to China towards the Middle East and Europe because of the Geo-strategic location of Pakistan especially, Gwadar port. Second, both China and Pakistan want to utilize economic dividends of CPEC for socio-economic development of their underdeveloped areas like the western autonomous region of China, Xinjiang, and the Balochistan province of Pakistan. CPEC has a deep impact on the future strategic alignment in South Asia. This paper explore multiple challenges to CPEC which Pakistan and China are supposed to tackle and another hypothetical connotation of CPEC i.e. complex projection of economic competence.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ACADEMIC STRESS, STUDY HABITS ANDACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS OF UNIVERSITIES 高校本科生学业压力、学习习惯与学业成绩的关系

It is crucial for students to lessen the academic stress with improving their study habits as they both are important for their academic achievement. Thus, the objective of the research was to explore the relation of academic stress and study habits with academic achievement of undergraduates in universities of Lahore. Research design of study was quantitative approach, followed by correlation research to obtain the objectives. Total population (undergraduate students of education departments), 1721 students; 1214 were from public universities and 507 were from private sector universities. Data was collected by using two questionnaires. The results of research showed that academic stress predicts 54.6% variance in the academic achievement whereas study habits contribute 53.2% variation in academic achievement. Results also showed that academic stress has significant but negative relation with academic achievement of students. It was observed that study habit had significant and positive relationship with academic achievement.

Thus, the objective of the research was to explore the relation of academic stress and study habits with academic achievement of undergraduates in universities of Lahore. Research design of study was quantitative approach, followed by correlation research to obtain the objectives. Total population (undergraduate students of education departments), 1721 students; 1214 were from public universities and 507 were from private sector universities. Data was collected by using two questionnaires. The results of research showed that academic stress predicts 54.6% variance in the academic achievement whereas study habits contribute 53.2% variation in academic achievement. Results also showed that academic stress has significant but negative relation with academic achievement of students. HYBRID REGIME AS BARRIER FOR DEMOCRATIC CONSOLIDATION IN PAKISTAN (2008-2015) 混合政权是巴基斯坦民主巩固的障碍(2008-2015)

This study argues that hybrid regime in Pakistan (2008-2015) with changing exercise has decreased norms of democratic consolidation. Some extensive gains are made in Pakistan during this era 2008-2015 in terms of democratic norms like constitutional amendments and provincial autonomy. Important unique gain is completion of one term as civilian government of Pakistan People’s Party 2008-2013 and the second civilian government of Pakistan Muslim League (N) 2013-2018. Both the civilian regimes have worked as democratic government, but somehow autocratic trend in decision making approach was observed. Political exercise of this hybrid regime in Pakistan created weak condition of the democratic norms which made way for authoritarianism. This regime was tended to be unbalanced, changeable, or both due to weak civil liberties. The civilian control in this political regime was not stable and transparent in decision making. Further, civilian control over five-areas including public policy, elite recruitment, external defense, internal security, and military organization and was not effective. This paper help us to understand why hybrid regime arose which disturbed democratic consolidation process in Pakistan.

• Since the outbreak of conflict in early November between federal and regional forces in Tigray, nearly 54,000 people have been displaced to Sudan as of December 26, with many likely displaced in Tigray and to bordering areas of Amhara and Afar. Additionally, market function and economic activity were significantly disrupted, which led to significant price increases, limiting many households' ability to access food and income. While some improvement in economic activity has been reported in accessible areas since conflict subsided in early December, economic activity in many areas continues to be limited.
