Functional description of static converter for CAD CAD静态转换器的功能描述

Nowadays, the designer uses an assembly of existing structures to design a complete static converter structure. The resulting structures are generally very attached to a specific technology and are not very new. To avoid this, a functional description is proposed here in order to take into account the technological aspect very later in the design process. In such an approach, specifications are mainly defined by qualitative criteria, which implies numerous problems developed in the paper. Here, an example of a simple functional graph building is presented to show how a coherence checking can be automatically carried out thanks to the functional approach proposed in this paper. In the future, our final goal is to build an expert system for static converter structure design.

Simulation of active power filters using switching functions 利用开关函数模拟有源电力滤波器

The operation of static power converters used in active filters can be simulated by means of widely available circuit simulation software packages such as PSpice. In these studies, converters are usually modeled as a set of real or idealized switches, which may result in long execution times and possible convergence problems, particularly in complex circuits. This paper proposes the use of macromodels to simulate active filters. The macromodels are based on converter switching functions rather than actual circuit components, and they are well suited for steady state and large signal transient analysis at the system level. In this approach, the converters are simulated as multiport networks avoiding the physical nonlinear micromodels associated with power switches. Computer memory and execution times required for the simulation of the power circuit are thereby significantly reduced. The procedure also allows rapid design of filter components, in particular passive elements such as inductors and capacitors. Complete examples of typical shunt filters are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed models.

Simulation tool for multi-board controlled power electronic systems 多板控制电力电子系统仿真工具

A new tool for the simulation of interacting and multi-board controlled power electronic systems is presented. The C-written object-oriented tool, inspired by an Ansaldo Trasporti Napoli traction application, is executable in a Windows'95 environment on a standard PC. Each object is completely defined by its initialization and input, output and state variables. The whole system is constructed by linking the elementary objects. The simulation of the DSP-based boards allows checking of the control code by simulations and it guarantees its portability on the real-time board.

This paper presents an original approach based on the design and application of a real time simulator for electrical drives fed by an inverter. The hardware and software structure are described in detail so as to underline the most critical aspects of such a system. A detailed analysis is dedicated to the problem of inverter interface and input signal decoding. The virtual interface for a man machine interface and its potentialities are presented.

This work deals with PWM switching regulator's frequency characterization in the time domain. The circular convolution measurement method is analyzed and implemented by means of virtual instrumentation. Laboratory test on a buck and a boost switching converters are performed in order to evaluate this method in terms of quality indexes such as accuracy and measurement time.

Computation of averaged characteristic coefficients for elementary PWM converters 初级PWM变换器平均特性系数的计算

In this paper, an algorithm and a program for the computation of the averaged characteristic coefficients of elementary DC-DC PWM converters (buck, boost, buck-boost), in both operating modes (continuous and discontinuous), are presented. The program is principally conceived for the element determination of the unique circuit model for a PWM converter. This circuit model with fixed topology has the same structure as well as the circuit model from the injected-absorbed-current method. But, the elements of the circuit model, that is the characteristic coefficients, are deduced from the small-signal averaged model obtained through the state-space averaging method.

Power PiN diode performance improvement through local lifetime control: numerical analysis 通过局部寿命控制提高功率引脚二极管性能:数值分析

Numerical simulations are used to analyse the effect on static and dynamic behavior of local lifetime control applied to power PiN diodes. Extended use of mixed mode device circuit simulations allows the analysis of diode behavior in realistic working conditions. In the paper the emphasis is given on the effect of the position and of the extension of the reduced lifetime region on diode performance. The low lifetime region, the result of complex damage in the epilayer, is approximated with a rectangular shape in the simulator, and is defined by its thickness, position and amount of lifetime reduction. The simulations show that the optimal position for the low-lifetime region is at the beginning of the epilayer region on the anode side, while the optimal thickness of the low lifetime region depends on the amount of lifetime reduction. The local lifetime control design technique is shown to be effective in reducing the turn-off time and increasing diode softness with a little worsening of on-state voltage drop. It is shown that the trade-off curve obtained by diodes using local lifetime control is better than the one achieved with lifetime killing in the whole epilayer region.

Simulation-based exploration of aliasing effects in PWM power converters 基于仿真的PWM功率变换器混叠效应研究

Aliasing effects in pulse-width-modulated power converters are explored by first using switched-circuit simulation to generate circuit waveforms and then analyzing their spectral content using FFTs. The results for a basic PWM boost converter running open-loop under voltage-mode control show that perturbing the control signal or input voltage at frequencies close to the switching frequency or its harmonics can give rise to significant aliased components at the low difference frequency. The simulation results reinforce the concerns raised in regarding the limitations of small-signal frequency-response information in frequency ranges where aliasing is significant. The key steps in analyzing the observed simulation results is also presented.

Nonlinear phenomena in a model spacecraft power system 模型航天器动力系统的非线性现象

We analyse a simple model of a spacecraft power system comprising a solar array, a filter and a model of a buck converter, by studying a set of third-order nonlinear differential equations. The analysis is based on nonlinear-dynamics concepts, which reveal bifurcation, hysteresis and chaos, and is supported by simulation results.

Analysis of the IGBT under QR-ZCS operation using a special test circuit 利用专用测试电路对QR-ZCS工作下的IGBT进行了分析

This work presents the behavior analysis of the IGBT under zero current switching (ZCS) conditions and the design considerations of a special test circuit used to study power semiconductors. The conditions of the operation mode selected, single-shot, allows limits of the power source consumption, which allows different tests to be carried out in extreme operating conditions. The advantages of the special test circuit allow study under different operating conditions such as: frequency increments and quantity of stored charge as a function of the OFF time.
