ATP representation of cycloconverter drives for rolling mills: a useful tool for protection design purposes 轧机用环变换器驱动的ATP表示法:用于保护设计目的的有用工具

A cycloconverter drive for a rolling mill is considered and a detailed modelling of the system obtained by means of ATP (Alternative Transient Program) is presented, as regards power and control circuits as well as the protection devices and logic. The techniques for achieving a proper model are then illustrated and a case study is presented to show the use of the model for evaluating the fault effects on a real system. A modular approach based on the use of an ATP graphical interface is adopted for system representation, which also makes the tool suitable for nonprofessional ATP programmers.

The paper describes the results of common works of the Technical University of Lodz (TUL) and the Ecole Centrale de Lyon (ECL) to give the software for 3D simulation of sophisticated thermal problems in electronic equipment. Both the programs, one of them developed in TUL, the second one in ECL, are described, as are the boundaries that join them.

Software design methodology for power electronics applications 电力电子应用软件设计方法

The aim of this tutorial is to propose a new software design methodology for power electronics applications. The necessity of an integrated view of the process has found a first response in software engineering techniques. The application of formal methodologies, as Petri Nets, for software specification allows testing and validation of time constraints. The compliance with IEC 1131-3 standard plays a key role in software design and suggests the utilisation of the graphical language Functional Block Diagram (FBD). A new approach, funded by the European Community under the ESPRIT Project INFORMA, is presented. In particular INFORMA develops an integrated toolbox for designing, simulating, and analysing embedded (hybrid) systems, where the digital controller and the analog embedding are strictly connected. An example of electrical drives application based on a synchronous machine fed by a cycloconverter is then presented to exemplify the new methodology.

A new approach to the calculation of the true worst-case in circuit tolerance analysis (TWC-CTA) based on a genetic algorithm is presented in this paper. The GA solves the problem of minimizing the intrinsic underestimation error which affects stochastic methods in the calculation of the TWC with parameters characterized by large uncertainties. The joint application of the technique presented in this paper and in part II for the calculation of an overestimated solution ensures a reliable and efficient TWC evaluation.

Computer-aided design and application of sinusoidal switching patterns 正弦开关图形的计算机辅助设计与应用

This paper discusses the design of discrete switching sequences for synthesizing sinewaves in power-electronic circuits and drives. The discrete-level sinewave approximations described in this paper can be implemented with reduced switching losses, in comparison to typical pulse-width modulation patterns, and with user-selectable harmonic content. We present two design algorithms, including an algorithm based on simulated annealing. The algorithms allow the engineer to select switching sequences that meet desired objectives or characteristics in almost any context. In addition, we demonstrate the use of these sequences experimentally in a practical application.

Multimedia based learning systems for power electronics 基于多媒体的电力电子学习系统

This paper outlines the major requirements and concepts of multimedia based learning aid systems for power electronic systems and gives the characteristics of two examples of existing systems developed by our research team: CATPELS-Computer-Aided Tutor for Power Electronic Systems and CATELEC-Computer-Aided Tutor for Electrotechnologies. The open architecture of the run-time version of these two systems provides not only the basic information for beginners and all the required tools for specialists but also permits a user (an instructor or a researcher) to expand the capabilities to customise the user's specific requirements. Finally, some aspects on the delivery of these systems as a web-based system on the Internet are discussed.

Although various control techniques have been proposed for DC-DC converters, direct comparisons between these techniques have been difficult. In the past, special test cases have been used to emphasize the strengths of a new control technique and show the weaknesses of conventional approaches. It can be debated whether these test cases are realistic. This paper proposes a suite of benchmark converters that are examples of good conventional designs. The benchmark designs are based on the extensively studied methods of averaging and linearization. The benchmarks are proposed as reference circuits for comparisons of simulators and control methods.

Power converters simulation via wavelet transforms 基于小波变换的功率变换器仿真

This paper presents a new approach for the analysis and the resolution of power electronics circuits, based on the Haar set of orthogonal wavelet functions. A simple recursive algorithm for construction of the integral and convolution matrix, associated with these operators in the domain, are proposed. Integration with a multiresolution analysis approach yields a quickly converging solution. Finally a typical power electronics circuit is studied in the Haar-domain.

Detailed circuit simulation during switching transient of GTO circuit 详细的GTO开关暂态电路仿真

A new simulation model for GTO thyristors is proposed by using a commercial circuit simulator, PSPICE. The model can be used in the design simulation of inverter circuits. The proposed model is easy to use for GTO consumers, because the model parameters are simply obtained from the manufacturer's data-sheet and some simple measurements. The model can he used in accurate simulation of the GTO switching transient, and can be used in analyzing the interference between upper and lower GTOs. The model is a useful and effective tool in the actual design of the high power GTO inverter.

The model can be used in the design simulation of inverter circuits. The proposed model is easy to use for GTO consumers, because the model parameters are simply obtained from the manufacturer's data-sheet and some simple measurements. The model can he used in accurate simulation of the GTO switching transient, and can be used in analyzing the interference between upper and lower GTOs. The model is a useful and effective tool in the actual design of the high power GTO inverter.","PeriodicalId":250682,"journal":{"name":"COM.P.EL.98.
