Background of study: The implementation of librarian competency development through training in Sidenreng Rappang Regency, South Sulawesi Province, was carried out by dividing librarians based on the location of their agency's work area. In practice, there are training barriers, namely differences in absorption of the material due to limited training time and differences in initial knowledge of the training material. Purpose: According to the librarian's prior knowledge of the training to be held in future, this study attempts to determine the best grouping and number of participants. Method: The methodology used in this research is Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) which consists of 6 stages. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a linear numerical scale from a score of 0 to 10 to 97 librarians in Sidenreng Rappang Regency. Data were analyzed using the K-Means algorithm to determine the number of groups and the number of librarians in each group and evaluated using the Davies-Bouldin index (DBI) algorithm to determine the most optimal group division. Findings: According to this study, the best number of groups for training in the processing of library materials is two under a DBI value of 0.68983. With a DBI value of 0.69431, the best number of groups is two in the library promotion training. Conclusion: the library service training had the best number of groups of 2 with a DBI value of 0.65698. Meanwhile, for INLISLite-based automation training, the best number of groups is two groups with a DBI value of 0.65500.

Background of the Study: History of Indonesian library is less explored field in library studies. Debates on history of Indonesian library seems to be unexplored due to pressure on librarian to adapt with technological changes. It causes development of history of Indonesian library seems stagnant among scholars of library science and librarians. Meanwhile, in the field of history itself, library history is less attractive for historians. The development of historiography since 1980’s is more concerned with social movement history, though library played significant role in the field of education and research in Indonesia. Almost all research centers and universities certainly need library for obtaining references. Purpose: This article observes one of National Library of Indonesia’s rare collection named Berita Pustaka. The collection is a tabloid published by Center Library of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 1970’s. Today the collection is still deposited in Rare Newspaper Division, National Library of Indonesia with call number QQ-131. Method: In this article author uses qualitative method along with deep analysis of Berita Pustaka. Therefore, author also uses historical approach as a methodology in this article. Finding: In addition, the collection also contains information regarding library service for faculty members and students in 1970’s. Conclusion: Author argues that Berita Pustaka is an information source for researching history of Indonesian library, particularly higher education library.

Background of the study: The library is a place for users to find information, as well as a place to improve the intellectual quality of users. Along with changes in learning styles and obtaining changing user information, libraries are required to follow the development and learning styles of users by providing supporting facilities and infrastructure, one of which is napping areas or nap pods. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the importance of implementing a napping area in the library. Method: This study uses qualitative research with a literature study approach that emphasizes the use of reference sources to obtain data from literature. Findings: The results of the study indicate that the provision of a napping area as a temporary resting place for users needs to be facilitated by libraries in universities considering that developed countries have also implemented these facilities. This is done so that users feel comfortable and refreshed to restart their activities in doing academic tasks and improve quality in the world of education. Conclusion: The importance of implementing a napping area in the library can also provide a unique experience and increase the number of visitors who are decreasing day by day, on the other hand it also increases learning commons as an interesting renewal in the library with the existence of a napping area in the library.
