Modeling Protein-Based 3-D Memory in SPICE SPICE中基于蛋白质的三维记忆建模

The Simulation Program For Integrated Circuit Engineering (SPICE) has been used successfully for many years to aid semiconductor circuit design. SPICE represents circuits as networks of basic devices with interacting parameters (current, voltage, etc.), and then models these interactions as systems of partial differential equations. Biological systems are roughly similar, consisting of networks of interacting biochemical cycles whose resulting chemical concentrations can also be modeled by partial differential equations. In the present work, we use SPICE to model an optically-accessed, protein-based, 3-D memory. Modeling the protein's photochemical effects in SPICE allows us to include, within the same model, the supporting electronics and optics needed to properly cycle the memory and interface it to the outside world.

Modeling and Design of Super High Speed Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) 超高速永磁同步电机(PMSM)建模与设计

Because of the advantages of compact size and high efficiency, today PMSM motor has attracted the attention in aerospace applications. We have designed a super high speed PMSM motor with 92% efficiency novel for a cryo-cooler compressor for NASA recently. The rated speed of the motor is 136 krpm and the rated output power is 1.85 kW. Considerable attention has been paid in the design due to the super high speed range of operation. In the paper, we will present our analysis and design approach based on computer modeling and simulation.

The Role of Propagation Effects in Airborne RF Communication Systems Design 传播效应在机载射频通信系统设计中的作用

Recent years have seen the emergence of Unmanned Aerial Systems performing roles that use various Radio Frequency (RF) systems. Thus, there is a need to use accurate and broadly capable signal propagation models to capture multi-path effects as well as atmospheric effects in system requirements analysis. One such model, the Variable Terrain Electromagnetic Parabolic Equation (VTRPE) model, enables the required analysis for a wide range of applications. The work presented in this paper uses VTRPE to analyze signal propagation in multi-path environments and places the results in a system design context drawing conclusions to aid in airborne RF systems design.

Wie-Angle Sarse 3D Synthetic Aerture Radar Imaging for Nonlinear Flight Paths 非线性飞行路径的三维合成孔径雷达成像

Conventional three-dimensional (3D) Fourier synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging requires a collection of radar returns from multiple linear passes over a scene. Image resolution is improved by increasing the extent of these passes in azimuth and elevation. Hence, high resolution imagery requires large data collection times and storage capacity. In this work we investigate wide-angle 3D SAR image reconstruction for a sparse nonlinear collection path. This collection modality requires less data acquisition time and storage capacity than conventional linear collection. Images are reconstructed from measured radar returns using lscr1 -penalized least-squares inversion. An example is presented demonstrating that images with well-resolved features can be formed using data collected along a sparse nonlinear path.

In this paper, the 2.45 GHz rectifier antenna design is presented and the frequency tunable antenna design is proposed by integrating varactor shunt switch technology. The DC output can be 1.8 V when the input RF power is 20 dBm. The antenna is tunable by 500 MHz by integration of a ferroelectric varactor.

Derivation of a Reliability Metric for Fused Data Decision Making 融合数据决策可靠性度量的推导

Users require information fusion to reduce dimensionality for real world, complex decision-making. Typically, researchers design fusion systems based on limited data that does not capture all operating conditions seen in the real world (i.e. weather for video sensors). Fusion systems are of limited use when presented with poor data, inappropriate models, and unrealistic assumptions. Decision makers are burdened with the task of determining the quality of fused output based on trial and error. If the fusion system works in most scenarios, aids the user in purposeful decisions, and leady to successful actions; the user has high system confidence. However, if the fusion system causes erroneous results that lead to poor decisions, the user disposes of the entire system - which could have been the result of bad data, incomplete models, and restricted assumptions. Thus, when a fusion system is fielded, there has to be metrics associated with model fidelity, data uncertainty, and constraints over applicability. By combing representations of data quality; this paper derives a reliability metric to aid users to trust fusion outputs, perform a utility assessment, and refine sensor collections.

Low-Cost Acoustic Array for Small UAV Detection and Tracking 用于小型无人机探测与跟踪的低成本声阵列

This paper describes a low-cost acoustic array designed to locate and track small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The goal of this project was to create an inexpensive array with dynamically placed microphones that could detect and locate broadband sources in the far-field through algorithms for array calibration and beamforming. Experiments performed using remote controlled airplanes in an open field demonstrated favorable results.

How Threats Drive the Development of Secure Reconfigurable Devices 威胁如何推动安全可重构设备的发展

SRAM-based FPGAs are becoming an attractive target technology for the deployment of secure and cryptographic operations. Because of this, much work has been done in exposing the security vulnerabilities of reconfigurable computing devices. Direct probing, side channel, fault injection, and replay attacks are among the many that can be variously applied to steal secret configurations, keys, data, and access. Here we review the threats faced by FPGAs and propose and analyze security solutions implementable by both FPGA application designers and FPGA vendors. We also look at the particular case of configuration security and use game theory to model the attacker/defender relationship as a 2-person strategic game.

To supplement our multimodal object detection system, designed to identify `suspicious' objects along a roadside during troop movement, we have implemented a change detection feature. As a pre-processing step, a shadow-removal algorithm is introduced to minimize false positives and false negatives caused by temporal variations in natural light.

System Level Approach for Surveillance Using Wireless Sensor Networks and PTZ Camera 基于无线传感器网络和PTZ摄像机的系统级监控方法

A system-level approach for indoor surveillance of objects using cricket motes and PTZ cameras is presented in this paper. The objects to be tracked carry a listener mote with beacon motes mounted on the ceiling. The positions and orientation of the object received from the Cricket motes are used to calculate the pan, tilt and zoom of the camera which constantly track the moving object. The extended Kalman filter based approach is used to estimate the position of the objects in the absence of line of sight communication of the motes for limited amount of time.
