Distributed Contextual Data Fusion with ACIPL 基于ACIPL的分布式上下文数据融合

A system for controlling smart sensor networks is described. The system is called the adaptive context information processing language (ACIPL) which will allow explicit use of states of context inferred from sensor readings and algorithmic output for distributed control of data fusion in sensor networks. The detailed description of the language including its use for sensor information separation into raw sensor data, feature, objects, and events by the language is described. Furthermore the concept of context which aids the modeling of sensor data with the data fusion hierarchy is introduced, including its types, properties and applications. ACIPL loosely follows the Joint Directors of Laboratories' Data Fusion Hierarchy and provides a powerful tool to facilitate the use of smart sensor networks for the purpose of sensor data fusion.

DNA Mediated Solubilization of Single Wall Carbon Nanotubes DNA介导的单壁碳纳米管增溶

DNA has been recognized as an efficient dispersion agent that individually exfoliate and chirality-fractionate single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) according to their diameter and metallicity. Amongst, single stranded d(GT)n DNA has been known to efficiently disperse individual-level nanotube and mediate their subsequent chirality separation, when eluted from an anion exchange column at various salt concentrations. However, the cost for typical synthetic oligomer, ranging ~25,000$/g, hinders the bulk-scale solubilization and separation of SWCNTs. In this paper, we present a solubilization and separation study of SWCNTs by using salmon sperm DNA (SaDNA), which costs 20$/g as a byproduct from the fishing industry. We show that the SaDNA exfoliates and disperses SWCNTs on a comparable level to d(GT)n oligomer. The NIR and resonance Raman analysis from the solubilized nanotube samples will be presented along with the chirality dependent separation results from SaDNA mediated SWCNT dispersion.

Pre-processing Toolkit for Three-dimensional X-FEM 三维X-FEM预处理工具箱

In this paper, a pre-processing toolkit for three-dimensional extended finite element method (X-FEM) is discussed and employed for three-dimensional arbitrary crack growth simulation. The major topics includes the framework of X-FEM toolkit, formulations of 3D crack using level sets, the data structure of pre-processing toolkit and corresponding implementation. Using simple 11times11times11 cubic mesh and tee-joint as benchmark, the results of pre-processing are presented and verified.

Multi-modal Advanced Technology for Real-Time Information eXchange (MATRIX) 实时信息交换多模态先进技术(MATRIX)

This research and development concentrates on the progress achieved to-date in reference to the establishment of a multi-modal collaboration framework for use in any type of information technology related infrastructure. The framework builds on the knowledge and experience achieved in the developmental phase of the multi-modal advanced technologies for real-time information exchange (MATRIX) framework which was funded by the Department of Defense as a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) phase II effort. Completely pluggable and robust, MATRIX will act as the omnipresent application-interface meant to serve any type of collaborative environment including the human to human, resource to resource, and human to resource collaborative functions. To better service current and future customers, the MATRIX framework leverages open source technologies to join all customer requirements with the latest in cutting edge technology.

Image Registration using Polar Wavelets 使用极小波的图像配准

To deal with the large amounts of data generated in 21st century applications such as multi-level, cross-domain representation of multi-modal signals (e.g. video, images, hyperspectral) for efficient transmission, storage, manipulation, multi-modal data mining, and machine learning; identification of signals (friendly, threat, etc.), streaming video, and 3-D image processing, new methods of information analysis and data storage are needed. With the large amount of noisy 3-D data generated in these 21st century applications and the use of 3-D memory to store this large amount of data, the power of 3-D wavelets for confirmatory image processing shape detection is needed.

Bio-Inspired Adaptive Integrated Information Processing 仿生自适应集成信息处理

Biological brains are dramatically more effective in dealing with real-world adaptive information processes and decisions than most advanced computers. Advanced computers can utilize the discipline of classical signal processing whereby providing theoretical mathematical and statistical approaches for information processing, and with the vision of bio-inspired adaptive processing are evolving into neuromorphic integrated sensory processing systems. Numerous MISO (multi-input, single output) sensory applications demand reliable and effective information processing which, at an initial stage may be addressed by solving the key problems of advanced computing platforms, which are: i-massive parallelism; ii-low power consumption of massively large systems; iii-intelligent systems that learn from observations and perform better on the next run; iv-integrated systems for embedded feasibility; and v-systems that adapt to the environment. Thus, our Adaptive Integrated Information Processing (AIIP) approaches, presented in this paper. Two AIIP systems are presented: Neural networks with synaptic plasticity, as our Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs), with up to one million inputs, for chemical sensing and detection; and Adaptive Recurrent Dynamic Neural Networks (ARDNNs) for defect tracking, reliable system deployment, and prognosis for telecommunication and similar applications. Further-our presented AIIP systems may provide a viable solution to offering powerful modulation schemes and transmission rates far beyond current possible communications systems.

Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) based BioTransistors 基于脱氧核糖核酸(DNA)的生物晶体管

In this paper, we report the first results on DNA based thin film field effect transistors (TFFET). The DNA molecules are extracted from Salmon's milt and roe sacs and purified to 96%. DNA based thin films are obtained using different techniques including spin coating, molecular beam deposition (MBD), pulse laser deposition (PLD)...etc. An increase in the overall charge carrier mobility was achieved by blending the DNA molecules with conductive polymers such as PEDOT:PSS as well as conductive nanoparticles such as single wall carbon nanotubes. MOSFETs with bottom gate, bottom contact structures using DNA based thin films as the semi-conductive layer have been developed.

Genetic Algorithm: Application to Scattered Data Problems using Lipschitz Interpolation 遗传算法:应用于使用Lipschitz插值的分散数据问题

In this paper, a low computational method of efficiently and quickly handling large multivariate scattered data sets with a genetic algorithm for design parameter optimization is presented. The method presented combines the use of a genetic algorithm and the linear interpolation technique identified as Lipschitz Interpolation. Using this method we have improved the performance of the algorithm in two ways, the variance of the solution and the total algorithm evaluation time (an improvement of magnitude 90%).

The method presented combines the use of a genetic algorithm and the linear interpolation technique identified as Lipschitz Interpolation. A Hinfin filter based on GPS dynamic locating method is put forward in this paper. The proposed method is able to decrease the current acceleration model error. Some examples show that the method can perform better in GPS dynamic locating than EKF for less computation consumption and higher locating accuracy.

Zeroth-Order Resonator Antennas Using Composite Right/Left-Handed Microstrip Transmission Lines 利用复合左右微带传输线的零阶谐振器天线

The left-handed metamaterials have the negative permittivity epsiv and permeability mu simultaneously. These provide the left-handed metamaterials with various new properties in comparison with the traditional right-handed (RH) materials. Many applications for the left-handed metamaterials are possible. A new type of the microstrip resonant antenna with small physical size will be presented using composite right/left-handed (CRLH) transmission lines (TL). The antennas are implemented by the series microstrip unit cells. The verifications are done by the detailed simulations. Two zero order (ZOR) CRLH antennas were designed that operate at 2.4 GHz and 915 MHz. The antenna at 915-MHz is also experimentally processed and tested for RFID applications.
