Automatic segmentation and area calculation of optic disc in ophthalmic images 眼科图像视盘的自动分割与面积计算

The diseases related to eye such as glaucoma, retinopathy etc. are mostly detected at the later stages when there is very little scope of treatment. This is because the symptoms presented by these diseases are not significant until the disease at some advanced level. So there is a need of regular and less time consuming diagnosis of the eye. The diagnosis can be done by observing the shape and other characteristics of the different parts of the retinal image; optic disc is the important one. This paper presents a technique to automatically segment the optic disc from retinal images of any size. This technique preserves the shape of the disc after carefully removing the blood vessels. Also, the area of the optic disc is calculated.

Automatic left ventricle segmentation in cardiac MRI via level set and fuzzy C-means 基于水平集和模糊c均值的心脏MRI左心室自动分割

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become an important assistant for clinical diagnosis of cardiac diseases which can not only observe the morphological structure of the heart, but also estimate the global and local function of myocardium. It is necessary to segment the left ventricle (LV) for the quantitative analysis of the global and regional cardiac function. However, cardiac MR images are usually intensity inhomogeneity, which results in a considerable challenge in left ventricle segmentation. In this research, we presented a synthetically automatic LV segmentation model on basis of modified level set and fuzzy C-means. We used level set method to delineate the endocardium and estimated the bias field which was used to decrease the intensity inhomogeneity of cardiac image. In addition, the fuzzy C-means algorithm and morphologic segmentation were applied in the corrected MR image to segment the epicardium. For the algorithm evaluation, we tested the short axis cardiac cine MR images published by MICCAI. The experiment results showed that our method obtained a good performance for both the endocardium and the epicardium segmentation. And, it was more effective to delineate epicardium in the corrected image than the original image.

Development of WiFi based Wireless Sensor Network for Seed germination Machine 基于WiFi的种子萌发机无线传感器网络的开发

Digital signature scheme based on image diversity 基于图像多样性的数字签名方案

In many image authentication techniques whenever the received image is declared forged there is a need to retransmit image as the techniques are not so efficient to regenerate the image from its false data received. In this paper a new authentication algorithm is presented that works on the principle of diversity i.e. same data could not get corrupted at same places at the same time. This not only provides integrity but also eliminates the need of retransmission of image and hence, avoids extra burden of the transmitter. This scheme is more suitable in areas where limited resources are available such that retransmission of data multiple times is prohibited. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is also tested for practical applications.

FOPID controller optimization employing PSO and TRSBF function 采用PSO和TRSBF函数对FOPID控制器进行优化

This paper presents a technique of PID controller tuning for fractional order industrial process and proposes a Time-Response Specification Based Fitness (TRSBF) function required by Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for the controller tuning. The results are compared with the conventional Integral Time Absolute Error (ITAE) based and analytic controllers. The performance and robustness is analyzed in time-domain and frequency-domain to establish the suitability of proposed fitness function. MATLAB/Simulink has been employed for PSO based tuning algorithm validation and comparison of parameters like peak overshoot, settling time, disturbance rejection time, stability in frequency domain, etc.

Design and performance analysis of PID based controller for SMIB power system using Firefly algorithm 基于萤火虫算法的SMIB电力系统PID控制器设计与性能分析

This article presents the design of a proportional, derivative and integral (PID) based controller using a new meta-heuristic Firefly algorithm (FFA) to optimize the parameters. The design of proposed PID controller using FFA is considered with an objective function based on minimization of square of error signal to guarantee the stability of a nonlinear power system for a wide range of conditions. The FFA optimized PID controller (FFA-PID) is applied to the standard single-machine infinite-bus (SMIB) power system model, and the performance were compared with previously established Ant Bee Colony based PID controller (ABC-PID), and Many Optimizing Liaisons based PID controller (MOL-PID). The performance is compared with simulation of the nonlinear power system for eight plant conditions, and superiority is validated using performance indices. Moreover, the superiority of the proposed controller is validated by plot of eigenvalue in left half of s-plane and verified over 231 plants, including very heavy operating conditions.

Line and Word Segmentation of handwritten text documents written in Gurmukhi Script using mid point detection technique 基于中点检测技术的Gurmukhi手写体文本文档的行词分割

In this paper, a new method is proposed for line and word segmentation analysis of handwritten script. The main aim of this paper is Line and Word Segmentation of text document written in script using mid-point detection technique. Accuracy of line Segmentation plays very important role in Optical Character Recognition (OCR), because in OCR system there are many other phases which highly depend on the accuracy of the segmented line. The proposed method is evaluated in terms of accuracy and compared with the existing methods. Two different handwritten scanned images have been taken as input images for line and word segmentation. The results of the proposed method are quite promised.

The Hidden Markov Model and its application to Human Activity Recognition 隐马尔可夫模型及其在人体活动识别中的应用

The process of predicting a qualitative response for an observation is referred to as classification. Supervised learning tools require labelled datasets to build classification models. However there are often instances when we have an unstructured dataset that doesn't have the output sequence for the corresponding input sequence, i.e. the dataset available is unlabeled. In such cases we need to use Unsupervised Learning Tools to classify our data. Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is one such tool used to classify temporal data. Human activity recognition is one of the many areas where HMM can be used. In this paper we review the working of HMM as well as try to implement it for Human Activity Recognition.

Gain analysis of hybrid optical amplifier for 100 channels DWDM system at bit rate of 10 Gbps 10gbps下100路DWDM系统混合光放大器增益分析

Hybrid amplification based on Raman-EDFA optical amplifier in combination with Semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) booster can be effectively used to overwhelm the design issues of optical transmission system such as bandwidth enhancement, high capacity and high speed networks. In this paper an experimental analysis based on performance of Raman-EDFA hybrid amplifiers has been carried out for 100 channels DWDM transmission system. The channels with transmission data rate of 10 Gbps were analyzed at reduced channel spacing of 0.4 nm and 0.2 nm. The performance analysis for the described systems was carried out in presence and absence of SOA based booster amplifier with an objective to study if SOA's can be faithfully integrated with hybrid amplifiers to support DWDM systems for channel spacing as low as 0.2 nm. The result analysis of system performance showcased that with booster amplifier, channel transmission rate and spacing of 10 Gbps and 0.2 nm respectively, an approximately flat gain of 25 dB along with transmission distance up to 200 km can be successfully achieved. However in absence of booster amplifier peak gain was approximately 21 dB with relatively no signs of gain flatness over same transmission range.

The result analysis of system performance showcased that with booster amplifier, channel transmission rate and spacing of 10 Gbps and 0.2 nm respectively, an approximately flat gain of 25 dB along with transmission distance up to 200 km can be successfully achieved. Load Frequency Control of multi area system using Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization 基于混合粒子群优化的多区域系统负荷频率控制

The essential point of the Automatic Generation Control (AGC) is to keep up the system frequency and tie-line power interchange within the limits by controlling the electrical power generated, whenever the fluctuations in the power system occur due to change in load demand. This paper proposes few online smart control techniques to understand the Load Frequency Control (LFC) of multi area system. The main reason to develop smart control techniques to improve the transient response of the power system by reducing the overshoot, undershoot and settling time of the multi area system. The proposed method in this paper is combination of Bacterial Foraging Algorithm (BFA) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) we call it as Hybrid-PSO (H-PSO). The modelling of multi area power system and tuning of the controller are carried out in MATLAB/Simulink environment. After the analysis of results it is observed that H-PSO is better as compare to BFA and PSO.
