The study was performed in the districts of south Odisha where retailers were the target of the study, the study aimed at analysing retailers’ role in the supply chain of fresh milk and other dairy products. The objectives of the study included: analysing the participation of retailers in the dairy product supply chain, reflecting the role of retailers’ efforts towards sustainable consumption and production, and classifying and describing manufacturers’ marketing efforts. The study came to several findings and was concluded with a number of recommendations some of which are: widening the spectrum of the retailer's role in marketing dairy products, adaptation of more empirical support for the synergy between manufacturers advertising and retail promotional activities, retailers and manufacturers need better models of relative allocation of marketing budget towards traditional and modern media.

Work-life balance has become an important issue in the 21st century. Work and family life are two sides of the same coin as both are interconnected and interfere with each other. Increased work demands interfere with family life, and on the contrary, family demands interfere with the work-life of employees. Therefore, conflicts occur, which negatively affect an employee's performance at work as well as at home. Looking at the trend, organisations have increasingly started to take an active interest in implementing practices that enable employees to cope with the work-life balance issues. The study attempted to explore the work-life balance practices of organisations. Also, brings forth issues and practices prevailing in Indian context. The materials reviewed were obtained through searches of academic, business and sociological database containing generalised research evidence and case study findings. It includes academic journal articles, books, research reports and materials oriented to business community.

The world is changing at a pace faster than ever before and equally there is a richer pace in the change of human beings as well. In today's scenario the Darwinian concept ‘Survival of the fittest’ applies well with only slight changes in scope and approach. It not only counts on the physical dimensions, but also connects to the spiritual and emotional aspects. In the present scenario, the efficiency and effectiveness of an individual are determined by the Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Spiritual Quotient (SQ) and the Emotional Quotient (EQ) on both personal and the professional fronts. The Bhagavad Gita is considered to be one of the greatest scriptures of Indian spiritual thought. It contains within it, the distilled essence of the Upanishads, which encourage us to manifest total excellence in all that we do, and in all our relationships by discovering the latent divinity within us. Taking perspectives from the Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Hindu epic, this paper presents a management grid to link the profit-orientated approach with a purpose-orientated approach in running a business. Different aspects of aptitude and attitude towards competition and business sustainability are discussed with specific extracts from this Indian classic.

Successful organisations respond intelligently to factors which precipitate change. Economic climates, political trends, changes in consumer demands, management policy or structure, employment levels and financial resources-all these elements are constantly at play to ensure that organisations clinging on to static structures will ultimately lose out. But change is a dynamic process and it has paramount importance to understand the tricks to manage it positively. The onslaught of globalisation has made it necessary for, the private or public organisation to change according to the rapid transformation on international economics. Successful adaptation to change is as crucial within an organisation as it is in the natural world. Change within the organisation/company can be influenced by external factors (which can be controlled to a lesser extent by managers such as: changes in technology, increasing complexity of life that generates complex communication systems and social changes). Internal factors through which changes act within the organisation are actually represented by processes of making decisions, communication, interpersonal relations, leadership, management style, etc. In this study, we examine how the effects of change on organisational performance depend on change in human resource management (HRM).
