The overall development of the economy generally depends on its banking sector and its stability in the functioning. Non-performing assets (NPAs) are one of the foremost concerns for banks in India. NPAs generally reflect the performance of banks. A high level of NPAs suggests high probability of a large number of credit defaults by which the profitability of the bank is got effected. In a developing country, banking is seen as an imperative mechanism of development, where NPAs are playing a crucial role in the growth of the economy. NPAs are not merely nonremunerative, but they add cost to the credit management. The NPA growth involves the necessity of provisions, which reduces the overall profits and shareholders’ value. The problem of NPAs is not only affecting the banks but also the whole economy. In this regard, the present paper is an attempt to analyze the impact of NPAs on profitability of public sector banks especially Andhra Bank with a comparative analysis of these two.

The primary motive of this research is to find the determinants influencing the capital structure of the Indian companies of IT, Automobile, Petroleum industries. Review of capital structure theories has been done to find the determinants influencing the capital structure of selected companies of IT, Automobile and Petroleum Industries. This study used panel data of five largest companies of each industry during 2004 to 2018. Linear panel regression model has been used to check the relation of DE ratio with the NPR, CR, ROA and ROCE. Descriptive statistics and unit root test also used to check the reliability of data. The results suggested that NPR, CR, ROA and ROCE are having influence on the debtequity ratio which is a measure of capital structure. And there is different impact of all the measures on different industries. It is very important to know the factor influencing the capital structure, it seems very useful in deciding the ratio of debt and equity in capitalization. This research maybe useful in deciding the capital structure of the Indian companies which are of large capitalization.

India is a country where ritual and tradition play an important role in human life, they follow rituals and tradition according to their culture and religion; keeping in mind the importance of these rituals and tradition, this study has been conducted. The ultimate object of this study is to find out the significance of the concept Shubh and Laabh in the books of accounts. For this purpose, the researcher has used survey method followed by non-probability convenience sampling and found that there is a relevance of Shubh and Laabh in the books of accounts not only in traditional but also modern business. It is observed that religious beliefs and practices still occupy a prominent place in traditional as well as modern establishments. Traders believe that pleasing their Gods in traditional way is more important than any form of Corporate Social Responsibility CSR activities for bringing good luck, fortune and profitability of their concerns.

The paper tries to analyse factors associated with successful social entrepreneurship, particularly with social entrepreneurship that leads to significant changes in the economic, social, cultural and technology contexts for poor and marginalised groups that lead to social transformation. The impact of social transformation on these factors is calculated by comparing the pre-stage and post-stage situations. The paper concludes with a discussion of the implications for the practice of social entrepreneurship and social transformation, for further research, and for the continued development of support technologies and institutions that will encourage future social entrepreneurship. Here, the scale of social development was used to measure the effectiveness and significant of the scale. The Confirmatory Factor Analysis through AMOS is performed to fit the model and its significance.

The focus of this study is identity change – how we adapt our personality and behaviour as we make the shift from home to the workplace. It seems the majority of us are comfortable with the idea of maintaining separate work and private identities. But for some, the switch is so complete as to cause real tensions, and to have a detrimental effect on their satisfaction and performance both at work and at home. This study strives to raise the discussion a level above the usual work–life balance debates around time devoted to work and private lives – and brings a fresh perspective on a subject that is close to our hearts. Our goal is to make balancing the demands – and rewards – of people's work and private lives as simple as possible through technology. But we are also aware that modern communications technology has the ability to invade and encroach, as well as to involve and empower. This study will go some way to building our understanding of people's needs and expectations as the modern workplace evolves to become more open and flexible.

Microfinance, over the years, has evolved from the traditional joint liability method to the new innovations such as individual lending and differential banking. Institutes which initially focussed only on production loans are now also attempting to provide consumption loan to the existing and potential customers. Group lending, which was once considered as the fundamental stone of the microfinance model, has now become obsolete and new models are emerging. Through this paper, with the help of existing literature, an attempt has been made to find the reason of the diminishing importance of group lending. The writer has also find that there is an absence of empirical research analyzing the impact of individual lending in India. It has also been found that several microfinance institutes have now started operating as a small finance bank, the impact of which on customers has not been established yet.

Social entrepreneurship (SE), the practice of responding to market failures with transformative, financially sustainable innovations aimed at solving social problems has emerged at the nexus of the public, private and non-profit sectors in India as well as across the world. It is a new breed of entrepreneurship that exhibits characteristics of non-profits, government and businesses-including applying to social problem-solving traditional, private sector entrepreneurship's focus on innovation, risk-taking and large-scale transformation. Although SE is not a new phenomenon, the field has experienced enormous growth over the past 15 years, receiving increasing recognition from journalists, philanthropists, researchers, and policymakers as an important and distinctive part of the nation's social, economic and political landscape. This paper attempts a critical examination of SE in India and the major issues and challenges faced by them.
