In this paper, a combined simulation and Genetic Algorithm (GA) optimization model is developed to solve the Lot Sizing Problem (LSP) in a Make to Order (MTO) supply chain. The simulation model is performed using ARENA software. GA model is implemented using Visual Basic for Application (VBA) language, because it ensures exchanges between ARENA software and Ms Excel. The GA and simulation models operate in parallel over time with interactions. The case study's objective is to determine a fixed optimal lot size for each manufactured product type that will ensure order mean flow time target for each finished product. The comparative results with OptQuest software, which is used a global search method, to illustrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Studying the performance of production systems is one of the major concerns of the manufacturers, this allows companies to adapt to any type of change to the environment and to ensure the smooth operation of the production system. Therefore, we conduct a study of a flexible manufacturing system which has a set of Automated Guided Vehicles system (AGVs) in order to define the levels of the most influential factors on the behavior of our system. Ever since, we perform scenarios of experiments that focus on the variation in the number of trucks circulated in the system and the management policy adopted carriages while taking into account the law of product arrival. A simulation tool SIMAN/ARENA has allowed us to analyze the behavior of the system and achieve suitable results that show the impact of proper choice of parameters on the system performance.

Waste tire related environmental problems and its recycling techniques have been a major issue nowadays because of their complex combination of very different materials, which include several rubbers, carbon blacks, steel cord and other organic and inorganic minor components. Most important problem in the scrap tire recycling program is type of product recovery options because there are few specific data available. Multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) was used to assess options in reverse logistics for waste tire. MCDA is a widely used decision methodology that considers conflicting systems of criteria. However, many real-world decision problems involve ambiguity and imprecise information. In this study, the analysis has been undertaken using an extended version of MACBETH methodology to take into account the imprecise and linguistic assessments provided by a decision-maker by integrating the 2-tuple model dealing with non-homogeneous information data. The proposed fuzzy MACBETH method has been applied to a real case related to the automobile tire waste to elucidate its details.

In this paper, an Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) metaheuristic is adapted to minimize the manufacturing batch dispersion in order to optimize traceability in food industry: The ABC is personalized to support the manufacturing batch dispersion. By computer simulations, it is shown that the performance of the ABC is better than the previous metaheuristics.

Since several years, the HCI community has proposed numerous techniques, tools, concepts, guidelines, patterns and approaches for the evaluation of interactive systems. The evaluation related techniques are so various which makes the choice of the appropriate one difficult for the evaluator. Each technique can be defined by its specificities and its particular aspects. However, several works recommend the use of more than one evaluation technique to obtain better evaluation results and cover larger specter of inspected aspects in the evaluation process. In this paper, we suggest combining between three different techniques for user interface evaluation. These techniques are exploited through an evaluation framework. The proposed framework is based on the questionnaire, the electronic informer and the ergonomic quality inspection as complementary evaluation techniques. Then, the evaluation process presented by the proposed evaluation framework covers the user interface information display to the user, the analysis of the interaction between the user interface interaction and the user satisfaction about the evaluated user interface. The proposed evaluation deducts then a broad outfit of utility and usability problems in the evaluated interface.

This paper presents a contribution to the personalization of information systems of transportation that are based on the use of ontologies. To meet the increasing demand of accurate information on the part of the users of collective means of transportation and to meet the abundance of data, it is necessary to sort out, select and adapt the obtained information to the users' needs, thus to personalize them. This work aims at giving the idea about a public transportation domain ontology that considers different concepts related to the best planning for the passenger. Also, we introduce the user profile domain ontology that can be used to make our public transportation information system intelligent.

In this paper, we propose an approach heuristic based on a mathematical approach for resolution of K-Traveling Repairman Problem 'K-TRP'. This approach is based on the heuristic classification method CLARANS which allows to convert a K-TRP in small problems containing a single repairman. After grouping, an optimized route is generated for every repairman in his indicated group. Computational results prove the efficiency of the proposed approach.

In this paper a branch and bound algorithm is presented for solving blocking flowshop scheduling problem. We consider the total completion time and total weighted completion time as objective function. Our proposed algorithm is the first one that addressed to these criteria. Besides, new machine based lower bounds are derived. Computational experiments show the effectiveness of the branch and bound algorithm to solve large scale instances.

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is an integrated business approach to the collaborative creation, management and dissemination of engineering information throughout the extended enterprise. Concretely, PLM enables a supply chain to become much more competitive by an effective collaboration among customers, developers, suppliers and manufacturers at various lifecycle stages of a product. Indeed, integrating logistic constraints in the early stages of product development will avoid additional costs and wasted time caused by a product unsuitable for its supply chain. Our objective is to show the role of PLM in supply chain optimization. This paper proposes a methodology of simultaneous design of the product and its related supply chain based on PLM approach and optimization mathematical models.

This work offers the macroscopic modeling of traffic road based on the Bond Graph (BG) paradigm for using these models in the traffic road control. We recall to the first time, the various models of the traffic road. Then we describe the Bond Graph with these principles in order to model three various macroscopic traffic flow models with Bond Graph. The originality of our approach lies in the fact that the road traffic can be modeled perfectly with Bond Graph and make use in the traffic control such as: ramp metering, crossroads, etc. Simulations of the developed traffic flow models are carried out in order to reproduce the famous fundamental diagrams (flow-density and speed-flow). Finally we have the results before opening prospects for future work.
