Revolutionary tourist texts belong to tourist texts. Extensive research has been conducted at home and abroad on the translation of tourist texts. However, due to the differences in domestic and foreign tourists’ cultural backgrounds and the unique characteristics of revolutionary tourist texts, there is less research on the Chinese-English translation of revolutionary tourist texts. Taking the Chinese and English texts in the Museum of the War of Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression as examples, this paper explores the C-E translation strategies of revolutionary tourist texts based on text typology, aiming to provide a reference for translating such texts and promote the development of revolutionary tourism.

This study focuses on the idol worship experiences of 15 Chinese college students, in order to in order to identify the factors motivating idol worship, the meanings and impact gained from the worship experience. 15 college students who identified themselves as idol worshipers were interviewed. Thematic analysis revealed the participants’ understanding of idol worship from three aspects: the way of idol worship, the role model of idols and the significance of idol worship. Three main factors that influenced participants to become idol worshipers were found: the need of self-development and the personal characteristics of idols. In addition, the themes that appeared to describe the influence of idol worship perceived by participants included emotions, life goals, spiritual support, personality, behavior and relationships with others. Generally, college students do not think there is a negative impact of their worship experiences. This study also reveals insights into how idols can play an important role by inspiring young generation in a positive way.

It is the source and foundation of lingnan traditional culture to reconstruct the cultural value of lingnan traditional villages, reflect the changes and development of Lingnan region, and truly record the agricultural ecology, architectural heritage and folk art of lingnan traditional villages. Recently, in the 2021 Global Gender Gap report which identifies the gap between women and men across four sub-indices: economic participation and opportunity, educational attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment, Malaysia ranked 112 out of 156 countries. Therefore, recognising the significant role of women, Malaysia is committed in achieving gender equality and promoting the rights of women and girls. This paper deals with the socioeconomic status of Malaysian women. It provides an analysis of the views of jurists regarding gender equality and recent trends of the female labour force participation, the areas where the female labour force is concentrated at present, and gender differentials in many ways, and it makes recommendations to improve women’s status. The Paper focuses on the need to enhance more opportunities for Malaysian women as gender equality is not only a basic human right but is also critical in accelerating progress on sustainable development.

In China, for most researchers, there is a discrepancy between promoting Mandarin and conserving heritage language. The study, by using survey scales and interview and data collected from randomly selected 40 participants, addresses the question what are the factors contributing to dialect maintenance of students on the individual, familial, school and community level. It was concluded that there is a series of factors that correlate with students’ dialect use and maintenance from internal and external point of view, which considers four different levels: Individual, family, school and community. Future research will extend to the experiment to testify the opinion of this paper.

Incentives of different forms and at different stages are used for motivating people to participate in human subject research. Although it is widely accepted that incentives, in general, play a positive role in increasing participation rate and are widely used, there are exceptions that they may not increase response rate and may even contaminate the quality of data resulting in poor research findings. This study examines the impact of pre- and post-disclosed committed lottery incentives on response rate and data quality in a face-to-face survey of conventional consumers for organic food consumption. A survey was conducted at the premises of four conventional grocery stores in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Half of the randomly approached and agreed upon respondents were disclosed the lottery incentives at the beginning, and the rest half were told at the end. Data quality was measured using three indicators – edit occurrences, imputation occurrences, and proportion of incomplete answers. Our study finds little difference in response rate between pre- and post-disclosed committed lottery payments. However, the useability of incomplete questionnaires among post-disclosed lottery was significantly higher than those of pre-disclosed. Our study also shows that people with likings of organic food and buying organic food more frequently are likely to offer a better quality of information.

This paper reviews the past studies related to appraisal theory and proximization theory. This paper discusses the rationality of integrating appraisal theory and proximization theory from four aspects, that is, value orientation, epistemological basis, analysis of meaning, complementarity. The author argues that the two theories can complement each other and try to establish an analytical framework to point out the possibility for uniting two theories. At the same time, the analysis of the diachronic and synchronic social and cultural contexts from the historical discourse analysis is added to promote the historical gravitas of this study. At last, the author takes the American media’s coverage of China’s 100th anniversary of the Party as an example and conduct a specific analysis, with a view to providing a new attempt for the integration, innovation and development of linguistics under the new liberal arts perspective.

The present study was designed to adapt a Resilience Scale, which examines the resilience level in adolescents of India’s Hindi speaking states. In the present study, 14 items from the Resilience Scale–R25, developed by Wagnild and Young (1993), were adapted in Hindi language in the Indian context. A total 1000 adolescent students from different Hindi speaking states of India responded to the R14 scale. To test the factorial structure of the R14, an Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were performed, and the internal consistency of the scale was studied. The results supported scale multidimensionality. The obtained Cronbach’s alpha revealed good internal consistency with a value of .78. Based on the psychometric properties, it is concluded that R14 is a reliable measure to assess the resilience of the adolescents of Hindi speaking states of India.

The studies on the play Hamlet has been numerous since the play occupies a most special and important place in all Shakespeare’s plays. The focuses of all these studies can be divided into the analysis on the theme, personalities of male and female characters, the reason of the tragedy and so on. In this essay, many evidences and interpretations will be provided to illustrate Hamlet as a “Wonder” in this play. The word “Wonder” is first put forward by Stephen Greenblatt in his essay titled, “Resonance and Wonder”. This article will mainly focus on the interpretation of the wonders in Hamlet’s lines addressed to these three male characters, Claudius the King, Polonius, Hamlet’s only trusted friend Horatio and his school fellows Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. All those wonders will be divided into three categories, the discussion on dualism, individualism and the disorder of the time, which as a whole will present Hamlet as a role leading reader to wonder and to resonate. The last part will serve as a conclusion of the above and try to provide a deeper understanding of the reason causing this tragedy.
