The information revolution we live nowadays provides the technological power that fuels an unmatched need for preserving, collecting, storing, organizing, propagating, accessing, sharing, constructing, etc. information and knowledge, and digital libraries appropriately support this need. They go beyond the basic functions of searching, browsing, and accessing information, towards being much more adaptive, reflective, contextual, and providing for collaborative environments that allow users to contribute (socially constructed) knowledge to the content, both actively by the means of adding semantic annotations, reviews, and so on, and passively via their use patterns, resulting in a vivid information and knowledge core that benefit of both professional and collective wisdom. In this paper we present our collaborative digital library that we have built to support the learning of the digital libraries subject, as a focused collection of digital objects, along with methods for access and retrieval, for selection and organization, and for maintenance of the collection.

In this paper we propose SINUX, a Linux distribution especially created for those who want to learn and use the currently existing Semantic Web technologies. It has integrated many important instruments and references to online informations, making it easy for the users to have a proper development environment without any hassle.

The integration of cooperation and coding techniques into communication networks could enable an efficient use of the network resources. The paper proposes an architecture framework for cooperation aware communication networks involving a new paradigm called Generic Path (GP), which is a key concept for the Future Internet. Furthermore an algorithm is discussed herein, instantiating the cooperation inside GPs with Network Coding (NC) capabilities. The concepts theoretically introduced for the Future Internet, such as GP, In-Network Management (INM) and Cross-Layer QoS (CLQ), were actually combined in this paper from the architectural perspective.

Numerical simulations are used for solving significant scientific and engineering problems. High performace numerical simulations can be divided in two categories: parallel and distributed simulation. In this paper we make a statistical study of performances in parallel simulation using Message Passing Interface (MPI) and Magpar software for micromagnetic problems. The results of total time, initialization time, resolving time, memory and bandwidth used depending on the number of processors are described.

In a world where computer assisted learning starts being very popular, learning management systems (LMS) are used worldwide. MoodleDrive comes to improve the user's experience when interacting with LMS, making it simpler and more efficient. It offers full control over the content. The application offers a zero-configuration method to interact with the LMS. Communication between client and LMS is secured and efficient, and requires no user interaction.

In this paper we demonstrate the use of grid-based computing in revealing aspects of intrusion detection data which were difficult to reveal some years ago due to constrained computing resources. Exploiting the grids for their computing resources can rapidly turn into a tedious task, entailing solid technical knowledge about the grid. Grid application (and) frameworks are the category of tools that make the use of the grid much simplified for the scientist with interest solely on the computing resources. Mining security data is a task, we believe, that can be better served using the grid. Here, we attempt to reveal new insights in intrusion detection data, such as the well known KDDCUP'99 data set.

Because of its simplicity and speed, RC4 is one of the most widely used stream cipher. In this paper we advance a cryptanalytic attack based on Tabu search algorithm which tries to reconstruct the internal state of RC4. Our attack relies on the cryptanalytic algorithm presented by Knudsen et al. in [9], the tree representation of the output word Zt and the tree of general conditions presented by Tomaševic et al. in [21]. Although the results of analitical calculations are slightly better than those given in [9] and [21], the attack remains impractical due to the high complexity.

The following document describes the way Mobile ELM works and what is its real life applicability in mobile equipment industry. The solution presented by us has the main advantage that it can use Bluetooth communication in order to create a communication channel between software that monitors hardware components, and our application that signals every undesirable behavior. In this way in the future will not be necessary to move us in service to detect problems, and we will be automatically alerted by the appearance of problems when it will be necessary.

This paper proposes a new approach for e-assessment or e-examination authentication. This approach enables educational institutions to conduct cheating-free e-examinations, which has been considered a big challenge of e-learning within the previous decade. It ensures that an examinee is the correct student throughout his exam. This approach provides virtual, interactive, and secure e-examination sessions. A prototype will be developed on Moodle with a media server to broadcast sessions. A control toolbox will be developed to provide interaction between a proctor and examinees. An e-exam can not be started without approval by a proctor who can also pause, resume or terminate an e-exam any time if an examinee violates examination instructions.

The paper introduces a novel architecture used to remotely monitor and control a flexible manufacturing system. The architecture has been developed around the corner poles of a service oriented architecture and contains two main components: the OPC UA server and the web services. The OPC UA server has been developed through the use of a special adapter solution as migration strategy. Besides the basic data access specification, it includes both the alarm & events and the historical data and events specification, which are used to provide further functionality for the above lying web services. One of the main issues addressed in the paper is the usage of session management in the web service server in order to limit the number of UA connections and as a result to eliminate the unwanted delays. A total of eight basic web services have been defined which are capable of providing information to all levels of the automation pyramid. Finally we introduce and describe two test scenarios which present various facilities of the developed architecture.
