Resource allocation for handoff in wireless ATM networks 无线ATM网络中切换的资源分配

Resource allocation for handoff in wireless ATM (WATM) networks has currently been an area of active research. This paper describes various issues and approaches related to resource management and efficient bandwidth allocation for handoff in a WATM network. Further, it reviews the existing approaches presented in the literature, looks at their advantages and drawbacks, and provides directions and suggestions for future research.

An alternative switching delay reduction technique for CMOS and BiCMOS digital circuits is examined. A simplified BSIM3V2 model equation is used to analyze CMOS inverter delay for different V/sub DD/, T/sub ox/, and V/sub T/. PSPICE BiCMOS delay results are presented over a wide range of V/sub DD/, T/sub ox/, and V/sub T/.

We describe a new expert system, written in C, for expressing the eigenfunction expansions of solutions to the nonhomogeneous wave, heat and Laplace equations in rectangular, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates with Dirichlet, Neumann, or Robin boundary conditions, in either the time, Laplace or frequency domains. The output of the program is LATEX code expressing the expansion, with elaboration on the eigenvalues and the expressions for the coefficients therein.

Coupling analysis of finite phased array microstrip antennas using the finite difference time domain method 有限相控阵微带天线的时域有限差分耦合分析

The finite difference time domain (FDTD) algorithm is used to analyze a two element broadside array of coax-fed stacked microstrip antennas. Special emphasis has been placed to obtain the mutual coupling of the antennas. A time domain approach is investigated to model the phase of the excitations.

Analysis of interconnected CSMA/CD LANs 互连CSMA/CD局域网的分析

This paper reports on the extension of a previous similar attempt at performance evaluation of interconnected local area networks (LANs). It presents the performance analysis of interconnected CSMA/CD (Ethernet) LANs with a high speed network as the backbone. The LANs are connected to the backbone network via gateways. The analytical model is verified by simulation results.

The principles of the use of rate-controlled sintering technology for manufacturing permanent magnets of electric machines from strontium ferrite were considered. The technology of magnet production based on strontium ferrite used in production requires perfection aimed at improvement of electrical properties at the expense of ferrite density and structure. This paper shows the use of nonisothermal sintering conditions for achieving high density and fine-grain structure of strontium ferrite that provides a high level of its magnetic characteristics.

Handoff performance issues in PCS networks pc网络中的切换性能问题

The rapid proliferation of wireless personal communication services (PCS) has fuelled the need to look into optimum handover schemes. In view of this, the relationships and tradeoffs between the various handoff metrics are studied. Work reported in the literature and some of the relevant issues are discussed. Handover design issues for future integrated wireless networks offering a high quality of service (QoS) to users are investigated.

The authors introduce an efficient technique to detect the evoked potential, EP, transients. A hybrid algorithm using Daubechies (1990, 1994) as the father and Coiflet as the mother wavelet is employed on both a single and four-averaged EP sweeps. A 60% reduction in the number of sweeps with a high quality performance has been achieved when compared to traditional techniques.

Resource control of distributed applications in heterogeneous environments 异构环境中分布式应用程序的资源控制

We address, in a unified manner, different mechanisms of controlling the application's environment. Today's applications can run over distributed, heterogeneous environments: different operating systems and networks. The resources used by the applications are also distributed across the environment. Therefore, the application developer needs to implement different mechanisms in order to control the resources. Resource reservation, resource allocation, and resource control are such mechanisms; these are not platform independent but instead, are operating system- and network-dependent. These mechanisms can be presented as universal service objects to the application developer and can support functionality to control resources with respect to priorities of users and tasks. We present an implementation of "control units" for a video conference application. We apply the control units as mechanisms to enable quality of service parameters.

A simple zero-voltage-switching boost converter 一个简单的零电压开关升压转换器

In this paper, a new type of PWM boost zero-voltage-switching converter is presented. The new soft-switching converter is formed by adding only two auxiliary components to a conventional boost converter, namely: an active switch and a resonant inductor. The voltage stresses on both the main and auxiliary switches are fixed at V/sub g/+V/sub o/ and they are not proportional to the load range. The proposed boost soft-switching converter is especially suitable for medium voltage level and high power density application due to its simplified power stage and control circuit.
