This paper provides a process noise model of a two-state Kalman filter for tracking with linear frequency modulated (LFM) waveforms. The steady-state gains and error covariance of this Kalman filter with process noise model are derived. The derived steady-state gains are such that sensor-noise only (SNO) covariance matrix of $alphabeta$-filter with these steady-state gains equals an estimate covariance matrix of a first-degree fixed-memory smoothing algorithm. Thus, the Kalman filter with proposed process noise model approximates the fixed-memory polynomial filter in terms of tracking accuracies. The first-degree fixed-memory smoothing algorithm is a first-degree fixedmemory polynomial filter based on least-squares estimation. Also the range and range rate lag error expressions are derived for the fixed-memory polynomial filter.

Modern Internet of Things networks are often proprietary, although based on open standards, or are built on the basis of conventional Wi-Fi network, which does not allow the use of energy-saving modes and limits the range of solutions used. The paper is devoted to the study and comparison of two solutions based on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with the functions of a self-organizing network and switching between transmission channels. The power consumption in relation to specific actions and volumes of transmitted data is investigated; a conclusion is drawn on the conditions for the application of a particular technology.

The problem of the quantization noise effect in coefficients of discrete wavelet transform (DWT) filters for 3D medical imaging is analyzed in this paper. We proposed the coefficients quantizing method which allows reducing hardware implementation costs. We derived formulas for determining the minimum wavelet coefficients bit-width that provide high quality in terms of the peak signal-to-noise ratio of 3D medical image processing using DWT. The experiments with 3D tomographic images confirmed the accuracy of theoretical analysis results. All data are presented in the fixed-point format which allows the possibility for the efficient implementation of image denoising and compression on modern devices such as field-programmable gate arrays and application-specific integrated circuits.

The problem of CV (or resume) segmentation and automatic extraction becomes increasingly relevant nowadays as long as it could simplify candidate selection process. The paper proposes a new method of automatic CV segmentation and parsing. The described algorithm is based on Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning methods. The proposed procedure allows to extract information related to the candidates’ work experience and education from their CVs which come in pdf or docx format. In particular, CV segmentation into 3 blocks (Basic Information, Education and Work Experience) is performed.

Many industrial Internet of Things scenarios require reliable delivery of time-sensitive information send by a high number of devices. A promising technology for such massive machine-type low-latency communications is the Time-Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH) operation mode of IEEE 802.15.4. This operation mode allows to schedule both dedicated channel resource units for collision-free transmission and shared channel resource units for random channel access. While numerous existing studies consider either scheduling of dedicated resource units or transmission in the shared ones, the joint usage of both dedicated and shared resource units has not been investigated yet. We fill this gap. We propose two approaches to joint scheduling of shared and dedicated channel resource units and analyze the performance of these approaches in terms of the packet loss ratio taking into account the channel noise. Apart from that, we propose modifications to the standard channel access rules and analyze their performance using an extensive simulation. We show that the proposed approaches with modified channel access rules give extremely low packet loss ratio with respect to the default behavior.

The article explores the question of the effective implementation of arithmetic operations with points of an elliptic curve given over a prime field. Given that the basic arithmetic operations with points of an elliptic curve are the operations of adding points and doubling points, we study the question of implementing the arithmetic operations of adding and doubling points in various coordinate systems using the weighted number system and using the Residue Number System (RNS). We have shown that using the fourmodule RNS allows you to get an average gain for the operation of adding points of the elliptic curve of 8.67% and for the operation of doubling the points of the elliptic curve of 8.32% compared to the implementation using the operation of modular multiplication with special moduli from NIST FIPS 186.

This paper considers the problem of channel prediction for LTE system highly mobile users. A prediction algorithm based on parameterized autoregressive model which parameters are estimated using superresolution techniques of spectral analysis is proposed. Via numerical simulation with usage of system level simulation platform efficiency of proposed algorithm is performed. It is shown that proposed algorithm allows high accuracy of channel prediction for highly mobile users to be achieved.
