Recommender Systems (RSs) have emerged since the mid-90s for dealing with the problem of information overload. They are commonly defined as software tools and techniques that serve as an assistant providing suggestions to the users. The two most familiar recommendation techniques are probably Collaborative filtering (CF) and Content-based filtering (CBF). Whereas CF computes recommendations based on past ratings of users with similar preferences, CBF assumes that each user operates independently, thus exploits only information derived from item features. Technically speaking, the performance of every single recommendation algorithm is limited and each has its own strengths and weaknesses, so recently more attentions are paid to the hybrid recommendation algorithms. In this work, we focus on the weighted hybridization and rather than using fixed weighted for the combination, we aim to propose a simple method to dynamic weight a combination of CF and CBF. Our experimental results on one of the most popular public datasets in the field of RSs - MovieLens have verified the effectiveness of our strategy against the traditional CF, and CBF approaches. It not only boost the prediction performance, but also alleviate the problem of new item cold start.

In the last decade, the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies have brought a lot of applications in different fields. Many communication technologies have been developed in order to connect everything to each other and to the Internet. Besides, the long-range power-efficient wireless technologies have emerged such as LoRa (Long Range), which enables transmission over long distances with low energy consumption and can work within p2p, star or mesh topologies. In this paper, we analyze a model of a mesh topology for the LoRa network, which is attracting more interest in the applications of Smart City and Smart Agriculture. While the mesh topology is described by a graph, a method of route selection is considered based on the link quality related to Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) to find the optimal path from a source to a sink node. The network performance is evaluated by considering each node as a queueing system. As the analytic results, the routes are found from device nodes to the gateway, and the delivery latency is analyzed in the dependence on the load intensity and the number of relay nodes.

This paper aims to classify the distortion behavior of a power amplifier (PA) with the aid of a neural network. Power amplifiers have quite extensive usage in communication systems especially with the current developments on 5G and more. However, distortion in the power amplifiers needs attention to be pre-distorted with the help of a feedback mechanism using direct or indirect methods in the digital domain. In the literature, there are several efforts to understand and reduce distortion in amplifier devices. Therefore, in this paper, the distortion behavior in the power amplifier is inspected using the neural networks. In this work, we have obtained a software-defined network using the strength of the neural network to inspect the distorted and non-distorted data as a binary classification on the actual design of the power amplifier in [1]. For this purpose, a neural network system is trained. In the tests, more than 96% accuracy can easily be obtained in an early epoch with the cleverly chosen learning rate (ŋ) which is optimally outperforming thereabouts after ŋ=0.05 till 0.1. Thus, the linearity and non-linearity response of the PA is considered with the help of the trained network.

This paper describes an initial implementation of software defined radio (SDR) based 5G new radio (NR) cell search equipment. The proposed equipment is capable of detecting NR cells by decoding synchronization signal block (SSB) transmitted by gNodeBs in the vicinity. A step-by-step implementation of the cell search is given. The measurement results are compared with the results obtained using commercial 5G measurement equipment. The performance results validate that the proposed SDR-based equipment can successfully decode SSB and detect the same cells as the commercial measurement devices.

E-commerce is a business activity that uses modern information technology to process cash flow and logistics to achieve transactions. With the increase of evolutionary algebra, saving genetic algorithm and genetic algorithm all tend to be more optimal. The evolutionary starting point of saving genetic algorithm is much lower than the evolutionary starting point of genetic algorithm. The evolutionary algebra and the population size in the conservation genetic algorithm also have certain influence on the performance of the algorithm. The maximum running distance of the vehicle is different when the trucks have distance limitation and have no-distance limitation. This paper can improve the efficiency of logistics distribution and shorten the distribution distance, which is of great significance for saving logistics costs and improving customer service level.

Big data innovations and development brings opportunities to leverage the impacts of performance metrics on a strategic plan. The purpose of this research work is to study the selection of the performance metrics based on the preferences, and find out what metrics are prioritized in a current strategic plan and how to translate big data insights into meaningful managerial actions. The authors prioritized group commitments and commitment of KPIs in the case study of universities in Mongolia, using the AHP approach for multi-criteria decision makings. Hardcopy questionnaire and interview sessions were used for collecting data to analyse the prioritization results. Based on the prioritization results of strategies, we find that decision-makers strongly prefer strategies with the goals and this preference causes the imbalance of metrics on the dashboard. The prioritization of metrics is highly influenced by the data availability of management reporting. Prioritization of performance metrics are data-driven and bring bottom-up impacts on the dynamics of the strategic plan. The conflicted interests of stakeholders, internal policy, and the excessive amount of metrics make strategic decision makings difficult. The application of AHP in the case study contributes to improving the speed of decision-making processes, providing scientific results on KPIs prioritization and selection, and providing an approach to assess the differences between what strategic planners think and what they execute and prioritize on a practical level. The prioritization of performance metrics is the sustainable approach that can be extended to other strategic decision makings as well, for example prioritizing business model elements or business processes. This research work proves that the multi-criteria decision-making approach AHP can be used to prioritize and identify strategic focus based on selections of the performance metrics. The research also demonstrates the importance of combining bottom-up data-driven analytics with top-down strategy-making processes in big data developments.

High-Definition (HD) Mapping is a system using Mobile Mapping System (MMS) technique to create HD panoramic point cloud map of the georeferenced location. The process to create the HD maps consists of joint processing of large amount of data originating from various sources. These data go through various post-processing steps using associated software to create a resulting HD point cloud map. To run these processes successfully require an appropriate processing server, a correct flow of processing sequence and validation of the input/output data. These processes are error-prone and time-consuming for human users. This paper is presented to illustrate practicality of an automated processing system for the creation of HD map, which can boost the efficiency of data processing for the whole system.

The purpose of this research was to obtain results that clearly show the influence of quality of service in network IP/MPLS load with IPTV and VoD services. Estimating the traffic and the quality of transmission in these networks is a major indication of network performance and thus ensures optimal QoS. Measure quality of service in terms of bandwidth, latency, and jitter and loss rate. The objective of this study is to first set up an IP/MPLS network with installed multimedia services, then study the network behavior in case of congestion and finally ensure the quality of service both in transmission and do the measurement of QoS. We used the DiffServ architecture to deploy QoS and then to measure again de QoS (latency, jitter, loss rate and bandwidth).

With the recent development of telecommunication technology, a new technology called IoT (Internet of Things) has attracted attention. The IoT is a technology that connects objects to objects using the internet and it is expected that the age in which a large number of things form a huge network will come. As wireless network technology develops day by day, wireless LAN is being used in the frequency of a 5G network, which is over 2.4G. However, mobile market operators are commercializing using 5G networks. As wireless network technology develops, wireless devices can be connected quickly and more reliably. However, it is still vulnerable to network attacks due to the nature of wireless. Network forensics is needed to analyze and defend against these attacks. Network Forensics refers to a technology that analysis all actions are taken on the network and analysis and responds to attacks through packet analysis. In this paper, we have used software (Wireshark) and hardware (Observer) to collect and analyze the packets. Moreover, to check the performance of our work, we have compared and analyzed each packet collection using Wireshark and Observer respectively.
