The purpose of this paper is to explore an uncharted topic in Romanian social work literature: the social perception of tattoos in future social workers. Romanian and international research literature is briefly reviewed to get an understanding of social perceptions about tattoos as they are associated with marginalized groups traditionally served by social workers, such as victims of human trafficking, people deprived of liberty, and people with substance abuse. We then aim to explore social work students’ perceptions about tattoos, and the attitudes elicited by such perceptions in encounters with social work beneficiaries. An exploratory research project was conducted with social work students in their 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of study at West University of Timisoara, Romania regarding students’ social perception of tattoos.

The analysis of deception in investigative activities represents a process taking place in the domains of verbal, written and nonverbal communication through the presence of indicators that necessitates both fusion and conjugated interpretation. These indicators are not proof of deception; however, they mark the existence of inadvertencies that require further exploration. Additionally, bio-psychological and social traits of persons engaged in the investigation, and cultural factors, all corroborated with the limits of analytical techniques, contribute to underlining the complexity of the investigation. The acknowledgement of these limitations allows one to diminish subjectivity, but not to fully eradicate it.

In our currently used language, the word evidence represents the logical-mental operation by which we attempt to prove something, to demonstrate, to emphasize a certain statement which provides credibility to a particular situation. The institution of evidence in objective law was differently regulated in material law as opposed to procedural law, depending on the different factors which configured private law, but also in direct connection with the lawmaker’s interest. Thus, the current Civil Code no longer contains regulations regarding evidence in antithesis with the 1864 Civil Code; however the institution is regulated in the new Civil Procedure Code, namely law no. 134/2010 regarding the Civil Procedure Code, which would later be republished with subsequent changes. As a consequence, the institution is currently studied in Civil Procedure Law, whereas, before this new regulation, it was studied within the general theory of Civil Law.

The body image of pregnant women has not been addressed in depth in countries such as Romania. The motivation behind the choice of this theme is the conflict that takes place in the life of a pregnant woman, between the social ideals of the feminine aspect and the changes that take place both physically and mentally. The aim of this study is to explore whether self-esteem and certain concepts related to body image (body satisfaction, sexual attractiveness and the importance of body image) differ depending on different relevant factors during pregnancy, such as pregnancy trimester or body weight.

Critical thinking tends to be seen more than a competence for adaptation. It is one of the most important meta-competences for future society. This study addresses two research questions: What kind of educational strategies are necessary for developing critical thinking skills? How can teachers develop students’ critical thinking competences? The goal of this study: to identify the adequate strategy for developing critical thinking as a 21st century competence. This study involved a longitudinal research for a period of five years (2014-2019) and included 300 participants (students and teachers). For developing critical thinking as a meta-competence all teachers have to use the transformative pedagogical strategy in their daily practice.

The main purpose of the current research is to identify the coping strategies adopted by the parents of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The birth of a child with a disability, who strays from the ideal and does not correspond to the expectations of parents causes a shock, which triggers an ample and complex mourning process. Within families in the constellation of which there is a child with autism, a series of stressors and tensions manifests plenarily, difficulties arise, and that is why, for the stress and the diagnosis in itself to be managed as correctly as possible and to the benefit of the child, but also of the family, certain coping strategies are employed. The manner in which the parents choose to manage the stress, the manner in which they adopt and implement a certain coping strategy, the existing connection between coping strategies, and the stages of mourning are main aspects that will be treated in the current research.

This study is an ascertaining one, its purpose being to find out if there is a relationship between time management and oral hygiene in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, during the isolation period. We started from the presumption that people who stay at home, even if they have more free time, will pay special attention to dental hygiene only depending on their time management. The objectives of the study involve exploring the associations between three variables of the oral hygiene dimension and three variables of the time management dimension. The number of respondents was 260, aged between 18 and 82, both from urban areas (67.3%) and from rural areas (32.7%). The participants are predominantly female. To test the hypothesis, we developed and used a questionnaire that addressed issues related to oral hygiene and we adapted and used a time management questionnaire (Indreica, 2019). The obtained results confirmed the existence of an association between the two dimensions, the correlations between their variables being highly significant. The implications and limitations of the research are also summarized in this paper.

Social life, in every form of manifestation, takes place within social units. In their sphere of inclusion, predominant of families and households, then kinsfolk (relatives), vicinities and many more, each of these is invested with a major or minor role, in the daily life of Romanian villages. The vicinities are worth being brought out of the great destiny of the rural settlements. Present in ancient times only in the coexistence of German Transylvanian village settlements, the vicinities gradually also made their way to the orderliness of the Romanian villages. Such a vicinity association was mentioned in the research monograph of the Romanian Sociological School of Bucharest in the pre-war times of the past century, in Drăguș village (near Făgăraș). Drăguș has been appreciating this model of vicinity organisation, by keeping some of the meanings and their initial attributes to obtain new ones.

The rules of prudential supervision have brought more success to the efficiency of banking, which is protected from practices that could be harmful. The regulations contained in the rules applicable to the systemic ensemble are recognized in the supervision through the legal relationship between the supervisory authority and the credit institution. Through the legally established principles, the National Bank of Romania develops the potential requirements imposed on credit institutions and establishes a regular reporting in the conduct of supervisory activity. All credit institutions have an obligation to draw up their own regulations, rules to be complied with and operations to be carried out only after communicating them to the supervisory authority.
