The purpose of this paper is to present the important aspects of the WCCSETE2016 – II World Congress on Computer Science, Engineering and Technology Education, a congress that is a high standard forum for the discussions and solutions for the betterment of professional practice as well as for research. It is a congress that counts with participation of organizations and authors in a top scientific and research environment. WCCSETE2016 is another successful edition organized by COPEC – Science and Education Research Council in partnership with Education Society of IEEE and this edition happens in Castelo Branco, Portugal at the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB). These organizations have been working together along a year putting up a top scientific congress with quality and impact in academic and professional communities. WCCSETE2016 has the honor to have many scientists in their fields of expertize, who are sharing their achievements and researches with peers. the sub-arrays of convolutional codes. This to to the the code correction power, thus obtaining a high degree of privacy in the information being transmitted. During the research, it was shown that most of the students interviewed had difficulties in solving Vector Algebra and Analytic Geometry issues and work with Winplot was important to relate the algebraic and geometric representation. The survey found that the Winplot contributed to students could solve Vector Algebra and Analytic Geometry issues. ecological dimension, social and political philosophy, focused on citizenship and community, new knowledge in environmental protection laws in to prevent further devastation of the natural environment and contribute to the environmental to the collective quality of life. [Keynote 1] Internet of vehicles: From intelligent grid to autonomous cars [主题演讲1]车联网:从智能电网到自动驾驶汽车

Traditionally, the vehicle has been the extension of the man's ambulatory system, docile to the driver's commands. Recent advances in communications, controls and embedded systems have changed this model, paving the way to the Intelligent Vehicle Grid. The car is now a formidable sensor platform, absorbing information from the environment, from other cars (and from the driver) and feeding it to other cars and infrastructure to assist in safe navigation, pollution control and traffic management. The next step in this evolution is just around the corner: the Internet of Autonomous Vehicles. Pioneered by the Google car, the Internet of Vehicles will be a distributed transport fabric capable to make its own decisions about driving customers to their destinations. Like other important instantiations of the Internet of Things (e.g., the smart building), the Internet of Vehicles will not merely upload data to the Internet. It will have its own communications, storage, intelligence, and learning capabilities to anticipate the customers' intentions. The concept that will help transition to the Internet of Vehicles is the Vehicular Cloud, the equivalent of Internet cloud for vehicles, providing the basic services required by the autonomous vehicles. This talk will trace the evolution from Intelligent Vehicle Grid to Autonomous, Internet-connected Vehicles, and Vehicular Cloud.

Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is an initiative driven by the largest service providers (SP) to increase the use of virtualization and integrate intelligence into their network infrastructures. NFV leverages virtualization technology and operates network functions on standard servers to fundamentally decouple the customized and inflexible network hardware. Today, NFV provides a plethora of virtual network functions (VNFs), including gateways, mobile core, deep packet inspection (DPI), security, routing, and traffic management that can be combined to deliver the dynamic customized network service chains. Our exploration on both VM-based and container-based VNFs indicates that the service chaining can pose various challenges to NFV implementation on current commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) server. First, we observe that the NFV packet processing on COTS server exhibits a unique processing pattern - heterogeneous software pipeline, where the NFV traffic flows are processed by a variety of software components sequentially. On modern NUMA-based architecture, the end-to-end performance of NFV traffic flows can be severely affected by placing these heterogeneous software components inappropriately. We develop a thread scheduling mechanism that collaboratively places threads of heterogeneous software pipeline to minimize the end-to-end performance slowdown for NFV traffic flows. In the second part, we characterize the light-weight container-based VNF, which is expected to achieve shorter VNF provisioning time and lower resource overheads. However, we observe that the traffic flow processing in the shared host OS network stack involves a large amount of intermediate memory buffers and results in significant last level cache pollution. We propose NetContainer, a framework that achieves a fine-grained hardware resource management for containerized NFV platform. NetContainer exploits a cache access overhead guided page coloring technique to coordinately manage the inter/intra-flow cache access overheads.

VSD: A Framework of Stackable Virtual Snapshot Device VSD:一种可堆叠虚拟快照设备框架

On demand of various applications for storage virtualization, this paper presents a stackable block-level virtual snapshot device (VSD) based on the virtual storage pool. With the strategy of stackable block device, VSD employs a read-only snapshot model with serial connection, and a tree model mixed with serial and parallel connection for writable snapshot. Moreover, two data updating schemes, Copy on Write and Realloc on Write, are integrated into VSD. Thus, VSD supports various applications such as data backup and recovery, data version management and volume clone and so on. Finally, the storage requirements and I/O performance of VSD are evaluated.

Implementation of OpenVG Path and Paint Algorithms on Synchronous Data Triggered Architecture with Optimization OpenVG路径和绘制算法在同步数据触发体系结构上的优化实现

As a free application programming interface (API) for hardware-accelerated two-dimensional vector and raster graphics, OpenVG is becoming the standard for hardware development. This paper firstly proposes several optimization methods for OpenVG implementation, such as loop unrolling, operation transformation, function in lining, vectorization and address assignment, based on the hardware architecture and programming model of the Synchronous Data Triggered Architecture (SDTA). We then optimally realize the OpenVG path and paint algorithms on the SDTA with the direction of these methods and consideration of the algorithms’ characteristics. The analysis results show that the optimized OpenVG algorithms achieved 3-9 times speedups compared with original ones.

Robust TCP Reassembly with a Hardware-Based Solution for Backbone Traffic 基于硬件的骨干流量健壮TCP重组解决方案

There is a growing interest in designing high-speed network devices to perform packet processing at stream layer. However, variety kinds of out-of- sequence packets in real traffic will make trouble for hardware-based TCP reassembly system which is less flexible for exceptional processing. In this paper, we present a detailed analysis of behavior characteristic of out-of-sequence packets in real backbone traffic and propose a hardware-based solution for TCP reassembly based on the results of analysis. This solution could reassemble a TCP stream with concurrent multi discontinuous out-of-order data segments and provide a robust buffer management strategy for out-of-order data. We have also assessed the memory size and bandwidth required for reassembling real 10G traffic. The simulation result shows that the system can process over 99% of the 10G backbone traffic using reasonable storage resources. A FPGA-based prototype is also implemented for evaluation.

An Aggregation-Based Raw Reputation Generation Approach 基于聚合的原始信誉生成方法

In the anti-spam area, distributed spam processing technology that based on reputation mechanism is a currently main focus in research. The raw reputation plays an important role in computing the finial reputation of the target node. In this paper, we analyze the ratio-based raw reputation generation approach in detail, point out its problems, and propose an aggregation-based raw reputation generation approach. Furthermore, we discuss how the number of evaluations and the method using to choose these evaluations impact on the result of raw reputation. Theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrate that aggregation-based approach is much more effective and accurate than ratio-based approach. As long as we choose the proper number of evaluations, the results can accurately reflect behavior of the target node.

A Performance Isolation Algorithm for Shared Virtualization Storage System 共享虚拟化存储系统的性能隔离算法

It is a challenging task that enables performance isolation while providing performance guarantees among applications that share storage infrastructure. This paper presents Admission-control-based Proportional Allocation (APA), a novel I/O request scheduler that combines the admission control of worst-case resources reserved with the proportional resources allocation to manage the bandwidth resources for performance isolation. APA has three characteristics: 1) admission control for I/O requests of applications; 2) fairness allocation for idle bandwidth resources; 3) performance monitoring and feedback-based weight adjustment. We implemented APA in a prototype Performance Virtual Storage System (PVSS). Through experiments on a real system, we show that APA has ability to provide the performance isolation and predictable performance guarantees, and to avoid the performance interference among virtual disks.
