EFFECTS OF DIETARY VITAMIN E ON GROWTH PERFORMANCE, CARCASS CHARACTERISTICS, LIPID OXIDATION AND VITAMIN E CONTENT IN MEAT AND LIVER OF MAHALI GOAT IN LIBYA 饲粮中维生素e对利比亚马哈里山羊生长性能、胴体特性、脂肪氧化及肉和肝脏中维生素e含量的影响

Lipid oxidation caused deterioration changes in meat quality during processing and storage. Supplementation of vitamin E with the diet of livestock had an essential role in the inhibition of lipid oxidation. Twenty four male kids weighing 10-15 kg were randomly allotted to four groups to receive four various levels of vitamin E. Control group (C), (300 E) group received 300IU vitamin E (DL-α-tocopherol acetate)/animal/day, (500 E) group supplied with 500IU vitamin E/animal/day and (1000 E) group provided with 1000IU vitamin E/animal/day. The animals were fed concentrate with barley hay diet to meet all nutrient requirements according to (NRC, 2007). Body weight was weekly recorded, and the initial and final weights were taken. At the end of the trial, the animals were slaughtered, and warm carcass weight, cold carcass weight and dressing % were determined. Meat samples from longissimus dorsi muscle were analyzed for pH, meat malondialdehyde content (MDA), intramuscular (I/M) fat and vitamin E content in meat and liver. In conclusion, the result revealed that vitamin E had no significant influence on growth performance, warm carcass weight, cold carcass weight and dressing %. Whereas, supplementation of vitamin E in the diet reduced pH, I/M fat and lipid oxidation. By comparison, vitamin E in the diet increased α-tocopherol content in the longissimus dorsi muscle and liver. Key Wards: Vitamin E, Growth Performance, Carcass Characteristics, Lipid Peroxidation.

EVALUATIONS OF TEAR SECRETION IN AN OUTBREAK OF ESCHERICHIA COLI IN LAMBS WITH SCHIRMER TEAR TEST 用schirmer泪液试验评价羔羊爆发大肠杆菌的泪液分泌

This study aims to determinate the tear secretion in lambs with colibacillosis and healthy ones by utilizing Schirmer Tear Test. A total of 25 lambs aged between 1-6 days, among which 15 were with Escherichia coli (Group 1, n=15) and 10 were in the healthy conditions (Group 2, n=10). The lambs in the study group were diagnosed for Escherichia coli by using a sheepspecific rapid diagnosis kit before being included in the group. Lambs to be included in the control group were selected from among the lambs that did not show any signs of disease and never had diarrhea after birth. Schirmer Tear Test was performed on both eyes of healthy and Escherichia coli and results were recorded. Group 1 Mean ± SD Schirmer Tear Test values for right and left eye were 6.47±1.55 and 7.33±1.45 mm/min and Group 2 Mean ± SD Schirmer Tear Test values for right and left eye were 15.7±9.07 and 17.5±8.36 mm/min, respectively. Comparison between Schirmer Tear Test values of right eyes and left eyes revealed no significant differences in either of groups (P=0.063, P=0.306). Both eye’s Schirmer Tear Test results were combined to compare groups. The mean of Group 1 (6.9±1.54) was found to be significantly lower than the mean of Group 2 (16.6±8.54) as a result (P < 0.001). As a result of this study, the amount of tear secretion was determined with the Schirmer Tear Test and there was a statistically significant difference between healthy and lambs with Escherichia coli.

AMELIORATIVE EFFECTS OF ERYTHROPOIETIN AND THYMOQUINONE ON VINCRISTINE-INDUCED BRAIN TOXICITY IN ALBINO RATS 促红细胞生成素和百里醌对长春新碱所致白化大鼠脑毒性的改善作用

Vincristine (VCR) is a powerful anticancer medication, but one of its most serious adverse effects is neurotoxicity. The current experiment investigated the adverse effect of VCR on the brain and the potential neuroprotective effect of Erythropoietin (EPO) and Thymoquinone (TQ) or their combination against VCR toxicity in a rat model. The adverse effects were monitored by estimation of brain oxidative stress markers and neurotransmitters and by histopathological observation. Intraperitoneal injection of VCR (150 μg/kg) three times weekly for five consecutive weeks, significantly decreased both the level of glutathione (GSH) and the activity of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and significantly increased the lipid peroxidation (LPO), nitric oxide (NO) and glutamate levels. Moreover, VCR caused marked histopathological changes such as neuronal degeneration, demyelination, sub-meningeal edema, hemorrhage, dilatation of brain ventricles and hyperplasia of the choroid plexus. Co-treatment of rats with EPO (80μg/kg) and their combination with TQ (10 mg/kg) improved all VCR-induced changes, however, TQ alone improved almost all changes except neurotransmitters alterations. These results suggested that the combination of EPO and TQ had an obvious neuroprotective ef fect aga inst VCR neurotoxicity on oxidative stress markers, brain neurotransmitters levels and the histopathological findings in comparison with each one alone.

CHANGES IN CAMEL AND CATTLE MEAT DURING CHILLING PRESERVATION 骆驼和牛肉在冷藏保存过程中的变化

The intent of the current study was to assess the changes concerning beef and camel meat during chilling at 4  C and their role in shelf life of camel and cattle meat. The studied parameters included sensory (colour, odour, consistency and appearance). Microbiological characteristics (total bacterial count (TBC), yeast and mould count, coliforms and Staph . Aureus counts) and chemical parameters (Potentiality of hydrogen (pH), Thiobarbituric Acid (TBA), Total Volatile Nitrogen (TVN), Peroxide value (PV), Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), catalase (CAT), Fractionation of amino acid, Fractionation of fatty acid and Free Fatty Acids (FFAs)). The results revealed that the sensorial quality of fresh cattle meat was acceptable until at 6 Th day but still at 8 Th day of camel meat. The microbiological quality indicated that the validity of cattle meat at 8 th day and camel meat at 10 th day for all mentioned microbial parameters. Chemically, the results were evaluated for cattle meat until the 8 Th day and camel meat at 10 th day for pH., TBA, TVN, PV, Glutathione peroxidase, Catalase and free fatty acids, as well as fractionation of amino acids and fatty acids. In summary, chilling preservation at 4  C enhanced fresh camel meat shelf life for 8 days and fresh cattle meat shelf life for 6 days without undesirable and detrimental effects on its Microbiological characteristics

RAPID ETIOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS OF NEONATAL CALF DIARRHEA WITH IMMUNOCHROMATOGRAPHIC TEST KITS IN ESME DISTRICT OF USAK 免疫层析试剂盒快速诊断乌沙克埃斯梅地区新生儿犊牛腹泻的病因学研究

This study was carried out for rapid etiological diagnosis of neonatal calf diarrhea by using immunochromatographic test kits in the Esme district of Usak. The animal material of the study consisted of 100 1-28 days old neonatal calves of different breeds and genders in the Esme district of Usak. Stool samples were taken from calves with diarrhea as a result of clinical examination. When stool samples were examined by a rapid diagnostic test, none of the disease factors sought in the study were found in 10 (10%) of 100 calves, while one or more disease factors were detected in 90 (90%) of calves. Rotavirus was detected in 27 (27%) calves, Escherichia coli 14 (14%) calves, Coronavirus in 8 (8%) calves, Clostridium perfringens in 19 (19%) calves, Cryptosporidium spp. in 17 (17%) calves, Rotavirus + Coronavirus in 2 (2%) calves, Rotavirus + Clostridium perfringens in 1 (1%) calf, Rotavirus + Cryptosporidium spp. in 1 (1%) calf, and Escherichia coli - Clostridium perfringens in 1 (1%) calf. As a result, data on the presence and distribution of enterogenous pathogens that cause diarrhea in neonatal calves in the Esme district of Usak were presented, and it was concluded that it would shed light on future studies on diarrheal calves in the Esme.

The animal material of the study consisted of 100 1-28 days old neonatal calves of different breeds and genders in the Esme district of Usak. Stool samples were taken from calves with diarrhea as a result of clinical examination. When stool samples were examined by a rapid diagnostic test, none of the disease factors sought in the study were found in 10 (10%) of 100 calves, while one or more disease factors were detected in 90 (90%) of calves. Rotavirus was detected in 27 (27%) calves, Escherichia coli 14 (14%) calves, Coronavirus in 8 (8%) calves, Clostridium perfringens in 19 (19%) calves, Cryptosporidium spp. in 17 (17%) calves, Rotavirus + Coronavirus in 2 (2%) calves, Rotavirus + Clostridium perfringens in 1 (1%) calf, Rotavirus + Cryptosporidium spp. in 1 (1%) calf, and Escherichia coli - Clostridium perfringens in 1 (1%) calf. SOME BACTERIOLOGICAL AND IMMUNOLOGICAL STUDIES OF ENDOMETRITIS IN MARES BEFORE AND AFTER ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS USING PLATELETS RICH PLASMA (ANDOR) ANTIBIOTICS 富血小板血浆(或)抗生素替代治疗前后马子宫内膜炎的细菌学和免疫学研究

Bacterial endometritis is the most major cause of mare infertility. This study was carried out to investigate the efficiency of using alternative ways of treatment for endometritis by using selected antibiotics or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or combinations between them. From a total of 46 mares, 39 suffered from endometritis (G1) and 7 were fertile mares (G2). The most commonly isolated bacterial species was E. coli (12 isolates, 30.77%) S. aureus (9 isolates, 23.07%), K. pneumoniae (8 isolates, 20.51%) followed by Strept. equi (7 isolates, 17.95) as single infection and Strept.equi + E.coli + K. pneumoniathen (3 isolates, 7.7%) as mixed infection .All isolates were susceptible to the widely used Amikacin and Gentamicin. Before the beginning of treatment, (G1) was subdivided into three groups: 13 mares treated with selected antibiotic (G3), 13 mares treated with PRP (G4), and 13 mares treated with a combination of antibiotics and PRP (G5). Our study recorded a significant increase in nitric oxide (NO), haptoglubine (HB), and malondialdehyde ( MDA) levels in (G1) compared with (G2), with significant decrease in total antioxidant (TAC). We found that the most effective result was detected in G5, which recorded marked decrease in bacteria isolates, significant decrease in NO, HB, polymorphnuclear neutrophils (PMN) and MDA levels. In addition to increase conception rate (92.3%) compared with other groups ,we concluded that using selected antibiotics with PRP in the treatment of endometritis was effective in decreasing uterine infection and have a great role in improving immunological status and elevate conception rate.

Comparative studies between pefloxacin and tiamulin against mycoplasma in turkey 培氟沙星与天霉素对土耳其支原体的比较研究

Samples form lungs, trachea and air sacs were collected from 40 turkey poults suffering f rom respiratory signs for bacteriological examination for isolation and identification mycoplasma spp. The results revealed, 18 (45%) samples were positive (+ve) for mycoplasma spp. Antibiogram study of isolates revealed that pefloxacin and tiamulin was effective against mycoplasma . A total of 40, one-day old poults provide free from mycoplasma infection were divided into 4 equal groups. 1 st group healthy negative (-ve control) 2 nd , 3 rd & 4 th groups were artificially infected with Mycoplasma gallisepticum ( MG) , 2 nd group infected non treated (+ve control), 3 rd group infected treated with 5 mg pefloxacin / kg bwt in drinking water for 5 successive days and 4 th groups was infected treated with 25mg tiamulin/kg bwt in drinking water for 5 successive days, At 1 st and 10 th days post treatment 5 poults from each group were sacrificed for record lesion scores % and two blood samples were taken from each poults for hematobiochemical parameters study. Poults infected with Mycoplasma gallisepticum revealed loss of appetite, depression, sneezing, conjunctivitis, frothy exudation in eyes, air sacculitis 7 (70 %), pericarditis 7 (70 %), perihepatitis 8 (80 %) & mortality rate 4 (40 ( % beside induces significant increase in WBCs, AST ALT, ALP uric acid, creatinine and significant decrease in weight gain. Phagocytic %, index, killing % IgA, IgG, IgM, T protein, albumin and globulin. Medication mycoplasma gallisepticum by tiamulin or pefloxacin revealed disappears of clinical signs, reduced mortality rate to10%, mild lesion scores re-isolation rate of Mycoplasma gallisepticum from poults treated with pefloxacin was (20%) and (10%) for tiamulin beside improve in hematobiochemical parameters and returned to nearly normal level at 10 th day post treatment. It could be concluded that pefloxacin and tiamulin was effective in treatment Mycoplasma gallisepticum in poults and ameliorate severity of its lesions besides improving adverse effect in hematobiochemical parameters.

Antibiotic susceptibility, serotyping and pathogenicity determination of Avian Escherichia coli isolated from Colibacillosis cases in broiler chicken in Aljabel Alakhdar Region, Libya 利比亚Aljabel Alakhdar地区肉鸡大肠杆菌病分离株的抗生素敏感性、血清分型和致病性测定

The main serotypes, pathogenicity, and antibiotic susceptibility of avian Escherichia coli isolated from colibacillosis cases in the Aljabel Al Akhdar region of Libya were investigated in this study. To determine the pathogenicity of E. coli isolates, Congo red binding, hemolysis, and lethality tests were conducted on Seventy-two unvaccinated broilers chicks on the day of hatching. Avian pathogen serotypes and antibacterial susceptibility testing to twelve antibiotics were also performed according to the standard methods. Results revealed that the only (O 114 ) serotype that had been orally inoculated caused mortality on the first day. While all E. coli isolates inoculated by subcutaneous route showed mortality on the first day. The highly pathogenic serotypes were (O 26 ) induced (100%) mortality. Congo red (CR) binding assay showed that (100%) of isolates were positive. Only (O 26 ) was found to be hemolytic. Serotyping results revealed that E. coli strains belong to serotypes (O 26 , O 111 O 114, O 119 ). According to the results, (100%) of E. coli isolates were less sensitive to Cephalothin, Lincomycin, as well as Erythromycin, while the sensitivity level to Amoxyclav and Doxycycline was (40%) and (60%) respectively. Only (20%) of E. coli isolates showed resistance to Enrofloxacin, Neomycin, Streptomycin, and Tetracycline. All strains were susceptible to Imipenem (100%). Significantly, O 26 serotype was highly resistant (75%) to 9 out of 12 different antibiotics tested.
