FPGA implementation of IPsec protocol suite for multigigabit networks 多千兆网络IPsec协议套件的FPGA实现

IPsec is a suite of protocols that adds security to communications at the IP level. However, the high computing power required by the IPsec algorithms limits network connection performance. The paper presents the hardware implementation of IPsec gateway in FPGA. Efficiency of the proposed solution allows to use it in networks with data rates of several Gbit/s.

Effective coverage as a new metric for image quality assessment databases comparison 有效覆盖率作为图像质量评价数据库比较的新指标

In the paper a new metric for comparing image quality assessment databases is presented. Its purpose is to show the real coverage of the database in Spatial information vs. Colorfulness space. Currently used metrics are vulnerable to databases having large uncovered areas within convex hull. Proposed method takes into account existing metrics but provides additional fill rate parameter, which define how well the area is utilized. As an added value an overview of the databases with color images for quality assessment is done. It covers 17 publicly available databases having over 5000 pristine images in total. The overview contains general information about databases as well as calculation of different metrics showing the variety of images included in different sources.

Adaptive method for multi colored text binarization 多色文本二值化的自适应方法

This article presents our recent study on multi colored text binarization. In the output image, we represented foreground content as black and background as white regardless the polarity of foreground and background in original image. Here we applied connected component analysis based approach to group the words or characters within bounding or edge box. The main novelty of this reported work includes the calculation of each edge box based local color threshold value from CIELAB color space. This approach makes the proposed system capable of binarizing multi colored texts where a single character has more than one color. The proposed method has been executed on well-known D1BCO2009 and CMATERdb datasets that contain a large set of images to show the efficiency over other existing methods through qualitative comparison study.

Homogenous HEVC video transcoding by transform coefficient removal 基于变换系数去除的均匀HEVC视频转码

In this paper, a novel method of transcoding of HEVC encoded video is presented. The novel approach enables a very fast transcoding without the need for the image reconstruction. It is based on the principle of removing of the carefully selected coefficients from the bitstream. The removal of coefficients is done on the bitstream level and can easily be tailored to software as well as hardware implementations. The technique is able to provide a bitrate reduction in the order of up to 10%, with the image quality decrease of about 0.2–0.5dB.

Speech/music discrimination for analysis of radio stations 用于广播电台分析的语音/音乐辨别

A computationally efficient feature, called Minimum Energy Density (MED) was applied to discriminate audio signals between speech and music in the radio stations programs. The presented binary classifier is based on testing two features: energy distribution and differences between energy in channels. We analyzed 240 hours of signals, from 10 Polish radio stations. Our analysis enables us to provide information about content of particular radio stations.

IVQAD 2017: An immersive video quality assessment database IVQAD 2017:沉浸式视频质量评估数据库

This paper presents a new database, Immersive Video Quality Assessment Database 2017 (IVQAD 2017), intended for immersive video quality assessment in virtual reality environment. Video quality assessment (VQA) plays an important role in video research fields. Nowadays virtual reality technology have been widely used and playing videos in virtual reality visual system is becoming more and more popular. However, existing research in VQA fields mainly focus on traditional videos. In this paper, we build the IVQAD which contains 10 raw videos and 150 distorted videos. Bit rate, frame rate and resolution were considered as quality degradation factors. All the videos were encoded with MPEG-4. Subjects were asked to assess the video under virtual reality environment and mean opinion score (MOS) was derived by computing. Using IVQAD 2017, researchers can explore the influence of resolution, video compression and video packet loss on immersive videos' quality.

Local statistics estimation for rapid frequency selective extrapolation 快速频率选择性外推的局部统计估计

Fast error concealment algorithms play an important role in image and video signal processing. Within this paper, a novel and highly accelerated Frequency Selective Extrapolation adaption is introduced for rapid image error concealment. The state-of-the-art complex-valued Frequency Selective Extrapolation runs with fixed parameters, e.g., a constant number of iterations, so far. In this paper, the algorithm is accelerated by determining local statistics of neighboring blocks. As a consequence, internal parameters can be estimated to match the processed image content dynamically instead of using predefined constants. Due to this, it is possible to achieve the same reconstruction quality as the state-of-the-art algorithm, while the execution time decreases on average by 41.30 % and at best by up to 57.08 %.

3D video database with known parametrs 具有已知参数的3D视频数据库

The perception of the spatial effect of 3D video is influenced by various factors. One of the most interesting and important factors is the content of the observed video sequence. This factor is relatively little investigated. The content of the scene can be described by particular parameters. The parameters have to describe spatial, temporal, depth and brightness distribution in sequences. We have created a database of the stereo video sequences complete with their quantified parameters, which express their contents. The sequences should serve for execution of subjective tests dealing with the impact of video sequence parameters on the observers' perception. We have executed a subjective test with this database.

A block-based noise level estimation from X-ray images in SVD domain 基于SVD域的x射线图像噪声水平估计方法

Accurate and fast estimation of noise levels from medical images has numerous applications in medical image processing, including image enhancement, image segmentation and feature extraction. In this paper, a block-based noise level estimation algorithm in SVD domain is proposed. The proposed algorithm employs the non-overlapping block image segmentation to estimate homogenous image regions. Each homogenous block is used to obtain an independent noise level estimates in SVD domain. For any particular image, the overall noise level estimate is ascertained by averaging over the set of noise level estimates associated with the homogenous image blocks. In this paper, the optimal size of image segmentation blocks is evaluated systematically over a large dataset of x-ray images. The experimental results show that the proposed method offers numerous advantages over some alternative SVD domain method.

In this paper, the optimal size of image segmentation blocks is evaluated systematically over a large dataset of x-ray images. Motion artifacts free image resolution enhancement exploiting image priors 运动伪影自由图像分辨率增强利用图像先验

Super-resolution reconstruction algorithms have been extensively studied for the last years. However, despite the progress made in this field, many issues remain to be solved. Some of them are basically omitted and their importance is trivialized. Routinely, for instance, researchers are willing to make the relative motion model simpler than it should be considered. The commonly applied non-rigid registration method being manually defined does not capture the real motion characteristics that could occur in image sequences. This work extends Iterative Back Projection (IBP) framework in several ways. It nests image priors, deblurring and a discrete dense displacement sampling for the deformable registration of high-resolution images at its core. Applying these constraints to a global optimum of the cost function can be calculated efficiently exploiting dynamic programming. It leads to the smoothness of the deformations of the image's features. This paper proposes an improved super-resolution method while making no compromise on image quality. The author experiment results confirmed the empirical observations, in particular, that the state of the art registration algorithm and blur and noise estimate procedures, as well as image priors, lead to promising results.
