Buckling Analysis of Guyed Composite Transmission Poles 复合材料传动杆的屈曲分析

The buckling loads of guyed modular composite (FRP) transmission poles of various heights and classes are computed using the Gere and Carter Method (GCM) and Linear Buckling Analysis using ANSYS finite element software. Four (4) specific end conditions are investigated: fixed-free, fixed-pinned, pinned-pinned and fixed-fixed ends. To simplify calculations, average values of elastic modulus E and tube thickness t are employed. The buckling loads obtained by the two methods are compared. Given the approximations used in the modelling process, it is observed that there is reasonable agreement between the values for buckling loads obtained by two approaches for all the end conditions, the maximum average discrepancy being about 24.3%. Suggestions for further studies include modelling each pole module explicitly with its specific properties and conducting full-scale lab testing to validate all studies.

Analyzing Job Requirements for College Students in Major of Network Engineering 网络工程专业大学生就业需求分析

The rapid progress in internet creates opportunities for companies and enterprises to release their job positions in the recruitment websites, which accumulates large amount of data on recruitment information and creates the need to have some meaningful information extracted from these large volumes of data. This study uses data mining techniques to study the job requirements of network engineering, network administer, and IDC network & operation, which are the main possible work positions for the college students in major of network engineering. First the percentage of job positions among these three job requirements are calculated, and second the districts with the highest and lowest requirements in job positions of network engineering, network administrator, and IDC network & operation are presented. The results show that network administrators are the highest requirement of job positions, and the other two jobs requirements are nearly the equal. In the sixteen district of Beijing, Haidian and Chaoyang district has the highest possibilities that student will work at, while Mentougou district has the lowest possibilities. This work provides teachers and course progamme directors with information that might help them to improve the education programmes in the college and provide student with information that might help them to understand which district that they will work at.

New Generation Roundabout Application A Study Case: Karabuk 100.Year Roundabout 新一代环岛应用研究案例:卡拉布克100。一年的

Roundabouts are common areas formed by the intersection, merging and separation of two or mor e roads and are one of the most important road parts that constitute various risks in terms of road safety. There are various standard intersection applications in the world and our country. Only capacity analyzes are not enough to determine intersection type. Factors such as traffic safety, land topography, cost, development plans, expropriation, local demands, history, cultural and touristic characteristics of the area, and the requirements of the public authorities are also necessary factors to be assessed. However, traffic problems at intersections, which are designed in a standard way without considering the above-mentioned factors affecting intersection design, require different solutions especially in these parts of highway. In this study, existing problems were identified on the basis of traffic counts and field observations on a sample roundabout in Karabük Province, 100.year neighborhood, at the intersection of 1002 Street and 1003 street. A new intelligent roundabout design was applied and the applicability of the new intersection model in addition to capacity and safety has been demonstrated and optimized using Ptv-Vissim and Autoturn software’s. The revealing results are; it is necessary to design the intersections considering the specific parameters of each intersection instead of standardization and it is necessary to adopt new approaches (intelligent crossroads etc.) in intersection design.

International labor organization or World Health Organization Joint Committee defined occupational health and safety as: “Occupational health should aim at: the promotion and maintenance of the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workers in all occupations. The prevention of workers in their working section from risks adverse to their health and placement of workers in an occupational environment adapted to their physiological and psychological capabilities are also the objectives of occupational health [1]. Occupational injury is a death, unintentional physical damage resulting from an occupational accident; it is fatal or non-fatal injury [2,3]. Occupational health services are available only to 10-15% of the 3 billion workers of the world. In industrialized countries, the coverage varies between 15 and 90% and in developing countries between a few percent and 20% [3-5].

Acoustic Emission Testing of Composite Materials Including Specimens Simulating the Embedded Sensors 模拟嵌入式传感器的复合材料声发射测试

Composite materials including fiberglass and carbon fiber together with the necessary strength provide a sufficient saving the weight for structures of any shape and allow to realize unique characteristics due to their application are finding wider application in the creation of structures. This requires the development of a reliable non-destructive method for assessing their condition, including during operation, what is of no less importance since it allows to reject materials with defects even before structural elements are made of them. The evaluation of possibility to use the acoustic emission (AE) scanning method based on EMA type equipment for fiberglass specimens was conducted. Numerous experiments were performed on scanning specimens in the longitudinal direction, in which each of the AE sensors alternately acted as an emitter of test signals. Of the six specimens tested, three contained an integrated center element simulating an acoustic piezoelectric transducer. Tests have shown that with AE scanning it is possible to distinguish acoustic properties without loading specimens in the presence and absence of such an integrated concentrator and to quantitatively assess the damage for material with concentrator. Also, the unique for EMA systems automatic prediction of destructive loading for both materials were tested during specimens tension up to crash. The importance of the results obtained for creating a methodology of composites testing using AE scanning technology and providing clear criteria for assessing damage is noted.

Electrolysis: An Innovative Technique to Desaturate Tailings 电解:一种创新的尾矿去饱和技术

Within the entire range of failure modes that have occurred at tailings impoundments, static and dynamic liquefaction are likely the most common. Static liquefaction can be a result of slope instability issues alone or can be triggered as a result of other mechanisms, dynamic liquefaction may be triggered by rapid forms of cyclic loadings, such as earthquakes. Several techniques, that have the aim to prevent this kind of failure, have been developed during the last centuries. In this paper, the attention will be focused on desaturation and on electrolysis as an innovative technique to desaturate the soils.

In this paper time history analysis is performed for offshore steel structures for El-Centro data for 31sec. The effect of slope (different angle 0degree, 20degree and 30degree) is studied for various loading condition and the effect bracings (single bracings, knee bracings, cross bracings) for different loading are also studied. For FEA analysis SAP 2000 is used which observed very effective for analysis.

The Effects of Transaction Costs on Investor Sentiment: Evidence from the Nigerian Electricity Service Industry 交易成本对投资者情绪的影响:来自尼日利亚电力服务行业的证据

Privatisation of the Nigerian Electricity Service Industry represents a bold first step on a multi-dimensional journey to social and economic development. Significant challenges remain to be overcome. This paper examines the reforms through the lens of New Institutional Economics in order to determine how weak institutions have so far confounded seasoned local investors and international advisors, by looking for the presence of excessive transaction costs. The reform environment is based on Williamsons 4 levels of social analysis and subjected to evaluation based on four areas deemed critical for reform success, namely property rights, market structure, conflict resolution mechanisms and policy implementation capabilities. The study is restricted to investors in electricity distribution companies, and the presence of high transaction costs used as proxy for institutions in need of further improvement. The study finds that providing quality asset performance data and changing a culture that tacitly accept electricity theft and late bill payment, will reduce the transaction costs associated with defining and protecting Investors property rights. However, the regulatory environment must mature to enjoy the confidence of government, consumers and investors, who continue to remain optimistic.
