Title: Elements Forming the Sense of Place of Taman Nostalgia as a Public Open Space in the City of Kupang This research aims to identify the elements that form the sense of place in Taman Nostalgia as a green open space in Kupang. Sense of place is a psychological phenomenon that affects users' perceptions and relationships with their environment. Shamai's theory is used as the basis for the conceptual framework, which is then operationalized through interview and questionnaire methods as data collection tools. This study involves active participants, namely visitors to Taman Nostalgia. In-depth interviews are conducted to gain a detailed understanding of individual visitors' experiences with Taman Nostalgia, while the questionnaire is used to obtain broader data from visitors. The research findings indicate that the sense of place in Taman Nostalgia is strengthened by the presence of the Gong Perdamaian Nasional as one of the significant physical elements. Other relevant elements include architectural design, vegetation, and cultural elements, which also contribute to forming the sense of place. The implications of these findings can be used as a basis for the development and planning of public green open spaces, considering the elements that enhance users' emotional relationships with the urban environment.

Title: The Resilience of Buildings with Adaptability to the Environment (Case Study: Tomb of Syekh Mudzakir in Bedono, Sayung, Demak) Coastal areas have the potential to be affected by abrasion and tidal floods. Syekh Mudzakir's grave is in Tambaksari Subvillage, Bedono Village, Sayung Subdistrict, Demak District, and in the coastal area of the North Coast (Pantura) of Java Island. However, the existence of the tomb and its buildings to this day still survives amidst the marine environment that surrounds it. This tomb has become a religious tourism destination in Demak Regency, with the number of tourists increasing. This research aims to determine and explore the resilience of tomb buildings that are adaptive to abrasion and tidal flood environments. This research is field research. Research data uses primary data and secondary data through the results of observations, interviews, and documentation. The research analysis uses qualitative descriptive analysis. This research shows that Syekh Mudzakir's tomb does not float in the middle of the sea. However, the tomb survives adaptively to the environment by adapting the area, building development, building structural systems, and expanding the site to be robust against abrasion and tidal floods. This research concludes that the family and community survive the grave by adapting to the environment and mitigating disasters that befall the grave area.

Title: Implementation’s Analysis of Tropical Architectural Design Concepts at Alila Seminyak Hotel, Bali Tropical architecture is born from efforts to adjust to the climate in the tropics. Tropical architectural design always shows the form of adaptation of buildings to the environment. Traditional Balinese houses that function as community residential units are one of the tropical architectural typologies with the main advantage of thermal comfort, especially on air circulation flow that flows well throughout the building. However, when reviewing further commercial buildings in Bali, especially star hotels, the implementation of tropical architecture is a theme that requires deep design thinking. Adjustment to Balinese regional regulations on buildings is very binding; limited sites and demands for comfort and suitability of building functions are challenging for architects to design an accommodation building with a tropical architectural concept. Alila Seminyak Hotel is one of the five-star hotels outside the ITDC Nusa Dua area, which tries to form a tropical architectural identity as the main attraction. This qualitative descriptive research takes the case study of Alila Seminyak Hotel. Assessment analysis was carried out on the physical form of the hotel building, which was then appropriated and compared with tropical architectural theory. The results of this study show that the implementation of tropical architecture in the Alila Seminyak hotel building can be classified into several main elements, namely, first is the form of laying the building period on-site, second is the orientation pattern of the building, and third is The physical design of the building emphasizes, that this building have three main concept designs, it is namely insulation, shading, and cross ventilation.

Title: Resilience of the Settlement Area of Pacarejo Village, Semanu, Gunung Kidul Regency Against the Natural Disaster of Tornado Natural disaster is a natural phenomenon often faced in several countries, including Indonesia, which has a variety of potential disasters. Pacarejo Village is an area in the Kapanewon Semanu, Gunung Kidul Regency, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, which often experiences natural disasters. One of the natural disasters that often occurs in this region is the natural disaster of tornadoes. In this area, tornadoes have occurred several times, and on February 22, 2022, this disaster caused damage to residential areas, both houses and their surrounding environment. On the one hand, tornado disasters hurt people's lives, but on the other hand, they can also generate resilience in residential areas. This resilience makes the residential area in Pacarejo Village resistant and resilient to tornado disasters. This research aims to find out how the resident areas in Pacarejo Village are resilient to tornado disasters. The research method used is a qualitative method, which requires a narrative to explain the research systematically and accurately according to existing facts and data. The results of this research will show and provide lessons on how the resilience of the residential area formed in the Pacarejo District can face tornado disasters.

Title: Physical Environmental Quality of Residential Areas on the Railway Boundary Labuhan Ratu Sub-district, Bandar Lampung The high demand for land and limited availability have caused built-up land to move to suburban areas of the city. The concentration of activities, such as establishing settlements and higher education centers, has also influenced the development of built-up land around them. Low-income people take advantage of the opportunities available by utilizing vacant land as a place to live. Land use that is carried out continuously and uncontrollably has an impact on the railway boundary. This study aims to identify the physical condition of the environment in residential areas in Labuhan Ratu Subdistrict, especially in the railroad border area. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The results found that the existence of settlements on the railroad border in Labuhan Ratu Subdistrict is included in the category of illegal settlements. Infrastructure conditions such as drainage, lighting, waste management, clean water, and others could be better; the topographic conditions of the area also support this. Increasingly dense illegal settlements and poor infrastructure conditions will affect environmental conditions, such as decreased land balance and environmental quality.

Title: Acculturation of Javanese Architecture in Yogyakarta; Pedimented façades in Javanese architecture at the Kraton Yogyakarta and Dalem Notonegaran   At the beginning of the 20th century, European Colonialism dominated almost all parts of the world. In this period, cultural acculturation was developed between European and local cultures in the colonised territory, including architecture. Many studies concerning architectural acculturation in the late colonial era emphasised the roles of European agents in appreciating while dominating the local culture. This research presents an alternative perspective by focusing on the Javanese elite as the agents of cultural change. Javanese architecture, on the one hand, with its long tradition, has recognisable stylistic formulation. On the other hand, it has a great degree of adaptation, giving chances for acculturation with many other architectural traditions. At the beginning of the 20th century, one exciting dynamic was the façade with pediment incorporating European Neo-Classical architecture. Originating in Ancient Greek Architecture, pediments continuously developed as a reference in European architecture. In Yogyakarta, the aristocratic circle adopted a pedimented façade supported by twin columns on both ends combined with many elements of Javanese culture. This research compares several pedimented façades with various cultural sources and architectural compositions in several buildings in the Sultan’s Palace of Yogyakarta and the princely residence of Notonegaran. From this comparison, this research discovers the progressive sides of Javanese architecture with many novel syntheses incorporating European architectural elements and Javanese ornamentations with novelty in composition, technology, and representation.

Title: The Permanence of Sabilal Muhtadin Great Mosque Area The area of the Great Mosque of Sabilal Muhtadin Banjarmasin was originally the location of "Fort Van Tatas," namely the fortress of Tatas Island in the Dutch East Indies era. This area is the first layer of the development of Banjarmasin City, starting with the Tatas Fortress with a defense function. In its development, the area underwent several changes in function and form until the era of the Republic of Indonesia. In this area, the Great Mosque of Sabilal Muhtadin was established as an Islamic religious center in Banjarmasin. Given the significance of the area as the first layer of the city, the research aims to provide an overview of the morphology of the Sabilal Region from time to time. Next, use the city morphology approach to identify the permanence of the elements forming the area, including what elements remain, the elements that change, and the elements that are missing. Synchronic and diachronic analysis methods are carried out on urban tissue areas, including observed elements: roads, open spaces, natural elements and plots-blocks, and buildings. The analysis results show that the area's morphology has changed the urban tissue character of the area from a center of defense to a center of religion. In comparison, some of the area's elements have changed and disappeared, such as elements of the fort and elements of roads, and rivers.

Title: Changes in Post-Pandemic Spatial Patterns in The Tourism Sector, Case Study: The Productive House of Silver Artisans in Basen Village The Covid-19 pandemic in recent years has brought many changes to various sectors of life. In the tourism sector, the decline in tourist numbers makes the tourist spots change to maintain existence. This research aims to find changes in the spatial elements and the pattern of productive houses after the pandemic and evaluate resident adaptation to the spatial changes. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, by raising a study case of three silvers-productive houses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Data retrieval is made through observation of changes in resident activity patterns and changes in the interior function of productive houses. Research results in analyzing new elements, space patterns, and residents' adaptation. Changes in spatial patterns experienced by productive houses of silver artisans occurred due to changes in residents' livelihoods due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Changes in semi-fixed elements are found in all case studies, as it is the easiest to manage the needs of its residents. This study will provide insight into the spatial pattern of the silver artist's house in Basen Village and evaluate the resident's adaptation to changes in spatial pattern.

Darmo is an area in the city of Surabaya which rich in architecture from the Dutch colonial period. Based on the Regional Regulations of the City of Surabaya, not all buildings in the Darmo area are protected. A lot of the original buildings were being interfered with. De Mier Eat and Stay is an example of adaptive reuse in the Darmo area that collaborates preserved Dutch Indies-styled building with a new modern building to accommodate new functions. This paper examines how successful conservation and infill design principles are applied in De Mier Eat and Stay. The research method was conducted qualitatively through site visits and interviews with the designer. The data were then analyzed with a comparative table based on the literature. From this study, it can be concluded that the interventions done in the opening elements fulfill all four conservation principles. In contrast, the wall elements only fulfill three, and the floor elements didn’t fulfill at all. The Infill design was done using the contrast approach. Collaborating two eras of architecture through façade, proportion, materials, and the responses to surroundings creates a unique harmony in De Mier Eat and Stay.
