Hydrogen production in hybrid renewable energy system and power factor improvement 混合可再生能源系统制氢及功率因数改进

A hybrid power generation system suitable for serving an off grid micro power system consisting of diesel generation, biogas, solar PV, wind turbine, micro-hydro plants and dc generator of fuel cell type is proposed in this work. The concept of hybridizing renewable energy sources help in augmenting expensive constantly run diesel generator in providing power. This work is based on the modeling, simulation, optimization and sensitivity analysis considering the net present cost, levelized cost of electricity, operating cost and performance of a renewable energy system having load of 20.6 kW under rural electricity supply. The hybrid optimization model for electric renewable (HOMER) software is used in the course of the study to design and optimize the proposed hybrid system. A solar PV-hydrogen system is used in which an electrolyzer converts excess PV power into hydrogen gas. The closed operating condition output of Hydrogen Tank is fed to a Fuel Cell, which intern output is connected to a busbar. The hydrogen gas obtained via electrolysis process is further used as sustainable onsite refueling. The proposed arrangement leads to dual way of producing electricity at a lower cost and also provides opportunity for future energy storage. Furthermore, the radial distribution network of the system is modeled in AMTECH software to improve the system power factor with a load factor of 0.476 in rural supply division. The reported load is used by the community, Al-Zahia-Musandam area of Oman.

Design of a grid connected system using proteus software 利用proteus软件设计并网系统

Nowadays the usage of renewable energy source is being encouraged in developing countries to meet the power shortages. The produced supply must follow the precised guidelines, so that the supply can be connected to the grid system. In this work, a grid connected module is developed using a DC - DC converter and conventional H - bridge inverter. The aim of the proposed methodology is to reduce the size of the filter used across the inverter and it is achieved. This is done by applying SPWM wave to the DC - DC SEPIC converter and the H - bridge inverter is operated at normal power frequency.

Statcom based on space vector pulse density modulated inverter 基于空间矢量脉冲密度调制的Statcom逆变器

A Pulse density modulation scheme is proposed for generating firing pulses to the voltage source inverter of a STATCOM. A three phase two level inverter is used as voltage source inverter. The capacitor voltage of inverter is maintained at a constant value. In pulse density modulation scheme all firing pulses have constant width but the number of pulses to the inverter switches varies. Space vector modulation technique is used for generating PDM firing pulses. PI controller is used for controlling STATCOM. Pulse density modulation scheme brings low interference and low noise thus improving the performance of STATCOM. Space vector modulation reduces harmonic distortions, minimizes switching stresses and gives accurate control for inverter voltage. A STATCOM of 3MVA is simulated with the proposed scheme and results are observed.

Accelerated particle swarm optimization algorithm for maximum power point tracking in partially shaded PV systems 部分遮阳光伏系统最大功率点跟踪的加速粒子群算法

Photovoltaic (PV) systems have gained major attention in the recent past due to the paradigm shift to renewable energy sources. The P-V curve of a PV system has a unique point at which power is maximum and this point varies with changing irradiance and cell temperature. Hence a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm has to be in place to make sure that maximum power is extracted. In large PV arrays one or more cells may get shaded due to a nearby building or a passing cloud. The P-V curve of such a partially shaded array has more than one peak and the algorithm has to identify the global peak. Conventional MPPT algorithms fail to do this. Recently the bio inspired particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm has shown its ability extract maximum power from an array under any shading condition. This paper uses accelerated PSO (APSO) algorithm, a simplified version of the PSO algorithm. The performance of this algorithm has been validated through simulation for different shading patterns.

Effect of filler concentration on breakdown in polymer nano-composites 填料浓度对聚合物纳米复合材料击穿的影响

Today nanotechnology has created a new dimension to enhance the properties of existing conventional insulating material. Polymer nano-composites belong to such type of material which shows improved insulation properties and dielectric behavior in high voltage engineering application due to their unique properties and compact size of insulation. Recently, the research focuses on determining the characteristics of various polymer-filler combination to obtain better insulation material with excellent electrical properties. In our work we focused mainly on the preparation of epoxy (Bisphenol-A) based nano-composites with different insulating fillers like TiO2, Al2O3 and ZnO of very low concentration (0.1-1.5%), small thickness (100-500 microns) and homogeneous distribution of fillers. Breakdown tests were conducted on these nano-composite samples and their breakdown strengths are determined. The results showed that the breakdown voltage is found to vary for different nano-composites based on the properties of nanofillers. And it is influenced by the type of the fillers and the different nano-composites show improved electrical behavior at critical concentration of filler.

Performance and economic analysis of room lighting system — A case study 室内照明系统的性能和经济分析-一个案例研究

Energy conservation and Efficiency (ECE) approach plays a major role in all industries and Institutes in India for achieving sustainable development. The Indian Government now focus more on energy conservation and is also taking steps to make awareness among people. LED is proven to reduce the wattage consumption and it has better performance. In this paper, Energy conservation of a block has worked out by replacing Incandescent lamp and Fluorescent tube into handmade LED. Also the performance terminology for lighting after replacing Fluorescent tube lights with LED has calculated. The Financial Economic analysis after replacing LED's has been discussed. Additionally, this paper compares the thermal and power quality performance of LED light with fluorescent tube light.

A concise review on different aspects of wind energy system 简要综述了风能系统的不同方面

In recent years, for an economical and cleaner energy society, the world has been looking for the alternatives of fossil fuels, and wind driven energy systems have been turning attention as a better electricity source. Therefore, efficient and consistent utilization of wind energy has been an important issue. This review paper presents the various aspects of wind energy based conversion system (WECS), various types of a grid connected wind turbine systems are equipped with different generators, which include the Synchronous generators (SG), Induction generators (IG), Permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) and doubly fed induction generators(DFIG). Significant review of control strategies for the generator side and grid side converter systems is presented. This paper focuses on the most common technical requirements in grid codes for wind energy systems, such as active power control and reactive power control, frequency deviation, voltage deviation and characteristics of wind energy systems during fault conditions.

Analysis of effects on hybrid power system's costs and pollutant emissions due to replacement of petroleum diesel with natural gas, fuel oil and biodiesel 天然气、燃料油和生物柴油替代石油柴油对混合动力系统成本和污染物排放的影响分析

Today, the world is very much concerned about the global warming effects due to the increasing pollutant emissions from various sectors of manufacturing industries. They are majorly using coal based power plants for fulfilling their electricity need. The requirement is of switching some partial load on renewable system and finding alternative fuels that can help in reducing green house gases' emissions. This paper presents the comparative analysis of effects using fuel oil, biodiesel and natural gas in place of petroleum diesel in optimized hybrid system comprising Solar PV, wind, battery and diesel generator. Here, the effects on optimal system sizing, pollutant emissions and total Net Present Cost (NPC) have been analyzed. The optimized hybrid system has been modeled and simulated using Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewables (HOMER) software developed by NREL, USA. The results show that biodiesel is most cost effective as compared to the other systems which use diesel, natural gas or fuel oil. It is also seen that biodiesel produces lowest CO2 emissions but the highest nitrogen oxides.

Application of particle swarm optimization for maximum power point tracking in PV system 粒子群算法在光伏系统最大功率点跟踪中的应用

Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique has been applied for multi-junction solar cell system. The solar panels are made up of different materials and give constant output from Boost converter. The main aim of PSO is to find out duty cycle to the Boost converter to maintain constant output voltage irrespective of power produced by solar panels. A detailed simulation of the proposed method has been simulated in Matlab/Simulink. The simulation result shows that this design can be effectively realized in practical applications.
粒子群优化(PSO)技术已应用于多结太阳能电池系统。太阳能电池板由不同的材料组成,并从Boost转换器提供恒定的输出。PSO的主要目的是找出升压转换器的占空比,以保持恒定的输出电压,而不管太阳能电池板产生的功率。在Matlab/Simulink中对该方法进行了详细的仿真。仿真结果表明,该设计在实际应用中可以有效实现。

A three-phase symmetrical multipulse modulated (SMM) ac chopper containing six four-quadrant switch (4QSW) realizations is used. Each 4SQW encompasses a power MOSFET. The three 4QSW realizations intended for freewheeling are connected across the load line terminals while the other three are connected in series with the three-phase supply terminals. The source and load currents, and the load voltage are assessed for harmonic distortion when the chopper is connected to an inductive, three-wire, star-connected load with an inaccessible star point. The gate control logic, in conformity with SMM, pertaining to the star-connected, three-wire, inductive load is presented. The SMM method involves generation of pulses within a half cycle (M) that have the same duty cycle (8) and are symmetrically located. Variations in the rms magnitude of the fundamental load voltage, and the harmonic profiles of the load voltage and current, are achieved by manipulating 8 and M respectively. The SMM data suggest, considerable mitigation of low order harmonics and even selective elimination of specific harmonics are possible by choosing M prudently. Results include SMM data, simulation data and experimental waveforms.
