Standardization of information is required for construction to realize the exchange and sharing of information. This paper proposes a technique for standardizing digital drawing with a CAD system for road design. The technique uses CAD and compatibility of data in Japan; layer information, line styles, color and figure drawing operations, are standardized. Moreover, a field experiment was carried out to confirm the technique's applicability to designing and usefulness for drawing. The result verified effectiveness of the technique.

〔ABSTRACT〕 Even though electronic drawing in some courses on design practice is increasingly getting popular in educational organizations, it is still a hard work for college students to refer design specifications during design process and quite a few organization has introduced a computer-aided design system for the design practice. In this study, a computer aided design system is developed for the purpose of utilizing in some courses on the design practice of steel girder bridges in colleges. The developed system was described by means of JAVA and HTML and linked with an electronic specification described by HTML in order to make it much easier for college students to refer in design process.

【Abstract】 In order to preserve and share experimental data, the Numerical Database of Steel Structures (NDSS) has been developed at Nagoya University. However, it was not easy to access it from other computer platforms due to the lack of proper communication media. With the rapid development of information networks and their browsers, structural engineers and researchers are able to access various types of test data. This paper presents the preparation and development of a multimedia database for the ultimate strength and seismic test results of steel structures and members on the World Wide Web using Java language.

【Abstract】 Computer graphics animation (CGA) systems provide the ability to integrate on-site engineers' expertise into construction management processes as well as design systems. This paper refers to the process of our studies about application of CGA for the construction management. We also describe a role and effectiveness of CGA on construction management. The pilot trial has been implemented on a dam construction project in Fukushima prefecture.
