We present the first experimental demonstration of using 2D-TCM-PAM8 for a 50Gb/s PON system based on 10G-class O-band DML. Compared to PAM6, the receiver sensitivity of 2D-TCM-PAM8 is improved by 1.1 dB over 20-km transmission.

Nonlinear distortion can be characterized by the orthogonal component. For coherent optical communication, orthogonalization analysis for acquiring the orthogonal component should consider the type of linear equalizer due to the existence of IQ imbalance.

We have verified the switching operation of 1 0Gbps OOK NRZ optical signals using pn-junction-type silicon photonics optical switch driven by label-controlled FPGA. Transient delay of a few ns with two-bit labels were achieved.

A $30mu m$-radius ring resonator using an Nb2O5 material was fabricated and periodic resonant peaks in the fabricated device were obtained. By numerical calculation, a resonance characteristic of a $5mu m$-radius ring waveguide was also obtained.
