Ikan selar bentong (Selar crumenophthalmus) merupakan salah satu jenis ikan pelagis kecil yang cukup dominan tertangkap di perairan Natuna, Laut Cina Selatan. Pemanfaatan yang semakin intensif oleh perikanan pukat cincin dikhawatirkan akan mengakibatkan penurunan populasinya. Pengetahuan tentang biologi ikan selar bentong penting sebagai dasar pertimbangan pengelolaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis karakter biologi reproduksi ikan selar bentong di perairan Natuna, meliputi nisbah kelamin, ukuran rata-rata pertama kali matang gonad, ukuran rata-rata tertangkap (L50%), tingkat kematangan gonad dan dugaaan musim pemijahan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan ikan contoh hasil tangkapan pukat cincin yang didaratkan di PPN Pemangkat Kalimantan Barat selama 5 tahun (2012-2016). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Nisbah kelamin ikan jantan dan betina adalah 1:1.05. Sebagian besar ikan dalam stadium pematangan (ripening, TKG 3). Ikan bentong mengalami dua musim pemijahan yakni pada awalmusim timur (Juni-Juli) dan awal musim barat (Desember-Januari). Ukuran rata-rata tertangkap (L50%) sebesar 18 cm FL lebih kecil dari nilai pertama kali matang gonad (Lm) yakni 20,2 cm FL. Nilai Lc yang lebih kecil daripada nilai Lm mengindikasikan terjadinya growth overfishing.Bigeye scad (Selar crumenophthalmus) dominantly caught by fishers in the Natuna watersof South China Sea. The intensive exploitation rate of this species by purse seiner led to population decrease. The understanding on biological aspect of bigeye scad is important as a consideration on arranging a proper management. This study aims to analyze biological reproduction of bigeye scad in the Natuna waters, such as sex ratio, length at first maturity, length at first capture, gonad maturity stage and the estimation of spawning season. This research is conducted by sampling the fishes that caught by purse seine fleets which is landed in AFP Pemangkat, West Borneo for 5 years (2012 to 2016). The result showed that sex ratio of males and females were balance by 1:1,05. It dominated by fish that are ripening stage. Spawning season happens twice per year which are in the beginning of east season on June to July and at the beginning of west season on December to January. Length at first capture (L50%) is 18 cmFL lower than length at first maturity (Lm = 20,2 cmFL) this condition indicated growth overfishing occurred in this fishery.

Ikan betutu (Oxyeleotris marmorata) merupakan jenis ikan yang mempunyai nilai ekonomis penting di Waduk Kedungombo. Ikan betutu di Waduk Kedungombo termasuk jenis ikan yang dominan dan digemari masyarakat. Penelitian ini mengetahui mengenai biologi reproduksi ikan betutu, dilakukan pada bulan Maret, Mei, Juli dan Oktober 2011. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui metode survei dengan pengambilan contoh dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Untuk mengetahui tingkat kematangan gonad diamati secara morfologi dan penentuan fekunditas dihitung dengan metode gravimetrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ikan betutu memijah secara bertahap (parsial) dimulai pada bulan Maret, nilai ukuran pertama kali matang gonad pada ukuran 16,5-18,1 cm. Fekunditas berjumlah antara 6414-56.302 butir  dengan diameter telur pada kisaran antara 0,2 – 0,67 mm, serta indeks kematangan gonad ikan betutu jantan berkisar antara 0,03 % - 0,65 %, untuk ikan betutu betina berkisar antara 0,11 % - 5,57 % . Betutu (Oxyeleotris marmorata)  is one of fish species having the economically important value in Kedungombo reservoir. In Kedungombo betutu is a kind of fish which is dominant and it is liked by the people. The objectives of the research were to get data and information on biology reproduction such as gonadal maturity, fecundity and egg diameter has been carried on March, May, July and October 2011. The research is done with survey method, meanwhile the samples taken by purposive sampling. The gonadal maturity is used by morphology, meanwhile fecundity is counted by gravimetric. The result of the research shows that betutu spawning by partial which is started on March, the size of the fish first mature gonads ranged from 16,5-18,1 cm, Fecundity of betutu shows that the total egg varied between 6414-56.302 with egg diameter is between 0,2 – 0,67 mm, Meanwhile index maturity of gonad male is between 0,03 % - 0,65 % and famale between 0,11 % - 5,57 % . Based on the aspects some water quality.

Perairan di sebelah selatan Gunung Kidul dan Pacitan merupakan daerah penangkapan lobster yang cukup potensial. Analisis hubungan panjang berat, faktor kondisi dan sebaran kisaran panjang lobster batu (Panulirus penicillatus) di perairan tersebut dilakukan pada bulan Maret 2010 hingga Maret 2012. Pengukuran panjang-berat terhadap 1.803 individu lobster batu menunjukkan pola pertumbuhan yang bersifat allometrik negatif. Faktor kondisi lobster memiliki kesamaan antara jenis kelamin jantan dan betina dan terdapat kecenderungan menurunnya faktor kondisi dengan bertambahnya panjang (umur). Panjang karapas dominan berada pada kisaran antara 45-50mm. Lobster betina yang membawa telur ditemukan pertama kali pada kelas panjang karapas antara 35-40mm.The waters in the south of Gunung Kidul and Pacitan were indicated as a potentially fishing ground of spiny lobster. Analysis of Length-weight relationship, condition factor and distribution of the pronghorn spiny lobster (Panulirus penicillatus) in those waters were conducted in March 2010 through March 2012. Length-weight measurements on 1.803 individual lobsters showed allometric negative growth patterns. Lobster have in common condition factor between male and female, and there is a tendency condition factor decreased with increasing length (age). Dominant carapace length is in the range between 45-50mm. Female lobsters carrying eggs were first discovered in the class of carapace length between 35-40mm.

Ikan kurau (Polynemus dubius) merupakan salah satu jenis ikan yang mempunyai nilai ekonomi penting di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, Riau. Penelitian tentang aspek biologi meliputi hubungan panjang-berat, jenis pakan dan kebiasaan makan, tingkat kematangan gonad, fekunditas dan indek kematangan gonad dilakukan pada bulan Maret, Mei, Juli dan Oktober 2011. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hubungan panjang - berat ikan kurau mengikuti persamaan W = 0, 005 L 2,9851. Dengan nilai b = 3. Dengan demikian ikan kurau mempunyai pola pertumbuhan yang isometrik dimana terdapat keseimbangan antara pertumbuhan panjang dengan pertumbuhan berat. Ikan kurau bersifat karnivora dengan pakan utama jenis udang-udangan (krustasea) dan ikan-ikan kecil. Proses kematangan gonad terjadi secara bertahap dan ikan kurau diduga mengalami pemijahan secara tidak serentak (partial spawning). Fekunditas ikan kurau berkisar antara 5.468 – 10.256 butir dengan indeks kematangan gonad antara 7,64 % - 11,00 %. Eastern paradise fish (Polynemus dubius) is one of species of fish which have economic value in the Distric of Indragiri Hilir, Riau. Research was carried out regarding length-weight relationship, food and feeding habits, maturity stage, fecundity and gonad maturity index. Data collected in March, May, July and October 2011. Penelitian tentang aspek biologi meliputi hubungan panjang-berat, jenis pakan dan kebiasaan makan, tingkat kematangan gonad, fekunditas dan indek kematangan gonad dilakukan pada bulan Maret, Mei, Juli dan Oktober 2011. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hubungan panjang - berat ikan kurau mengikuti persamaan W = 0, 005 L 2,9851. Dengan nilai b = 3. Dengan demikian ikan kurau mempunyai pola pertumbuhan yang isometrik dimana terdapat keseimbangan antara pertumbuhan panjang dengan pertumbuhan berat. Ikan kurau bersifat karnivora dengan pakan utama jenis udang-udangan (krustasea) dan ikan-ikan kecil. Proses kematangan gonad terjadi secara bertahap dan ikan kurau diduga mengalami pemijahan secara tidak serentak (partial spawning). Fekunditas ikan kurau berkisar antara 5.468 – 10.256 butir dengan indeks kematangan gonad antara 7,64 % - 11,00 %. Eastern paradise fish (Polynemus dubius) is one of species of fish which have economic value in the Distric of Indragiri Hilir, Riau. Research was carried out regarding length-weight relationship, food and feeding habits, maturity stage, fecundity and gonad maturity index. Data collected in March, May, July and October 2011. The results showed that the length-weight relationship of Eastern paradise fish (Polynemus dubius) follow the equation of W = 0. 005 L 2.9851 with  value of b = 3. It means that have isometric growth pattern where there is a balance between growth in length and weight. As a carnivore fish, it has main feeding of Cruatacean and small fish. Gonad maturation process was gradual and no simultaneously (partial spawning). KARAKTERISTIK BIOLOGI CUMI-CUMI DI PERAIRAN LAUT JAWA 爪哇海域中鱿鱼的生物学特征

Cumi-cumi merupakan hasil tangkapan sampingan bagi sektor perikanan di Laut Jawa, namun memiliki nilai ekonomi cukup penting. Pengamatan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aspek biologi cumi-cumi mencakup komposisi jenis, morfometrik, rasio kelamin dan tingkat kematangan gonad yang tertangkap di perairan utara Jawa di sekitar periaran Rembang, Cirebon dan Belanakan Subang. Ada empat jenis cumi-cumi ditemukan dalam pengamatan ini yaitu Loligo duvauceli sebagai jenis dominan, disusul oleh L. edulis, L. chinensis dan L. singhalensis.  Hubungan panjang mantel dan berat jenis L. duvauceli menunjukkan nilai koefisien pertumbuhan b sebesar 2,003 untuk jantan dan 1,942 untuk betina. Hasil tangkapan individu jantan pada bulan Juni dan Oktober lebih tinggi.  Pengamatan tingkat kematangan gonad menunjukkan bahwa cumi-cumi memijah sepanjang tahun. Karakteristik biologi cumi-cumi di perairan Rembang tidak berbeda nyata dengan cumi-cumi di perairan Cirebon dan Subang, serta memiliki karakteristik yang sama dengan cumi-cumi yang tertangkap di Selat Alas dan perairan India, kecuali waktu puncak pemijahan yang lebih lambat di perairan Rembang dan Cirebon dibandingkan dengan di lokasi lainnya.Squid are not the main target of cath fiesheries in the Java Sea, but it has high economic value. The aim of this observation is to study the biological aspect of squid, such as species composition, morfometric, sex rasio and maturity which were caught in Rembang, Cirebon and Subang. There are four species of squid were recorded during sampling dominated by Loligo duvauceli while the others were L. edulis, L. chinensis and L. singhalensis. The Length-weight relatioship of L.duvauceli showed that the growth coeffiicient were 2,003 and 1,942 for male and female respectively. Male were found common in June and October compare to female. Squid were spawned all over the year. There were no significant differences among squid caught in the waters around Rembang, Cirebon and Subang, and it seems also the same biological characters with squid in Alas Strait Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) and Indian waters, but the peak of spawning season in Rembang and Cirebon was late than others.

Ikan swanggi merupakan ikan ekonomis dan ekologis penting dan statusnya di perairan belum terevaluasi dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan, umur dan mortalitas ikan swanggi yang dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengelolaan sumber daya ikan yang berkelanjutan dan lestari. Data frekuensi panjang dan berat ikan pada Januari – Desember 2012 diperoleh dari perairan Tangerang dan sekitarnya berasal dari hasil tangkapan jaring cantrang. Sebaran frekuensi panjang ikan dipisahkan kedalam sebaran normal menggunakan metode Bhattacharya. Hubungan panjang-berat ikan swanggi jenis jantan dan betina bersifat allometrik negatif dan memiliki faktor kondisi yang baik (k=1,26). Rata-rata ukuran pertama kali tertangkap ikan swanggi (Lc=20,84 cm) lebih besar dibandingkan dengan ukuran pertama kali matang gonad (Lm=16,03 cm). Ikan swanggi dapat tumbuh hingga mencapai panjang infinitive (L∞) = 32,34 cm dengan laju pertumbuhan (K) sebesar 0,91 tahun-1 dan nilai dugaan umur teoritis pada saat panjang ikan sama dengan nol (t0) adalah 0,14 tahun-1. Panjang maksimal ikan swanggi  diduga berumur 3,5 tahun dan rata-rata panjang ikan pertama kali matang gonad (Lm) diduga berumur 0,75 tahun. Mortalitas alami (M) ikan swanggi adalah 1,67, mortalitas karena penangkapan (F) 0,83, mortalitas total (Z) 2,50 dan tingkat eksploitasi (E) sebesar 0,33 yang berarti pemanfaatannya masih dapat ditingkatkan sekitar 34% dari keadaan saat ini. The purple spotted bigeye an economically and ecologically important fish and status  in the waters have not been evaluated well. This research was aimed to understand the growth, age and mortality of the purple spotted bigeye. It was hoped that the results of this research can be contributed in sustainable fisheries management. The  length frequency data and weight of fish in January - December 2012 was obtained from Tangerang and surrounding waters derived from trawl’s catch,. The size distribution of the fish was divided into normal distribution by using Battacharya Method. Length weight relationship of the male and female fish were negative allometric and has a good condition factor (K=1,26). The average length at first capture of the purple spotted bigeye (Lc = 20,84) was higher than the average length at first maturity (Lm=16,03). The purple spotted bigeye can grow into infinitive length of (L∞) = 32,34 cm with growth rate (K) of 0,91 year-1 and (t0) value of 0,14 year-1. The maximum length of the fish was predicted reach at age of 3,5 years with the average length of first maturity predicted reach at age 0,75 years. Natural mortality value (M) of the purple spotted bigeye was 1,67; fishing mortality (F) value was 0,83; total mortality value (Z) was 2,5 and exploitation rate (E) was at 0,33 which mean utilization can be improved about 34% from the current state.

DISTRIBUSI, KELIMPAHAN DAN VARIASI UKURAN LARVA IKAN DI ESTUARIA SUNGAI MUSI MUSI河鱼类幼虫的分布、数量和大小的变化

Penelitian tentang distribusi, kelimpahan dan ukuran larva ikan dilakukan pada bulan Maret, Mei, Juni dan Oktober 2011. Stasiun pengambilan contoh meliputi Muara Delta Upang (stasiun 1), Muara Sungai Musi (stasiun 2) dan Pulau Payung (stasiun 3). Pengambilan larva pada siang hari menggunakan Bongo net yang berukuran mata jaring 250 µm. Hasil identifikasi diperoleh 13 famili ditinjau menurut musim, pada bulan Mei dan Oktober masing-masing diperoleh 7 famili, dan pada bulan juni sebanyak 3 famili. Kelimpahan larva ikan berkisar antara 9-46 ind/m3 dengan jumlah yang tertinggi (46 ind/m3) pada bulan Mei dan terendah pada bulan Juni (9 ind/m3). Larva ikan dari famili Gobiidae memiliki sebaran yang cukup luas baik spasial maupun temporal. Variasi ukuran larva ikan menurut famili setiap bulannya memiliki variasi ukuran yang hampir sama. Research about the distribution, abundance and size of fish larvae was conducted in March, May, June and October 2011. Sampling stations encompasses Delta Upang (station 1), Muara Sungai Musi (station 2) and Pulau Payung (station 3). Larvae taken during the daytime using a Bongo net with mesh size of 250 µm. Identification results obtained 13 families based on the season, in May and October respectively 7 families, and in June as many as 3 families. Abundance of fish larval around 9-46 ind/m3 with the highest number (46 ind/m3) in May and the lowest in June (9 ind/m3). Larvae of Gobiidae family have a large distribution on spatial and temporal. The variation in size of fish larvae by family on each month are the same.

LAJU TANGKAP, KEPADATAN STOK DAN BEBERAPA ASPEK BIOLOGI UDANG JERBUNG (Penaeus merguiensis) DI PERAIRAN DOLAK, LAUT ARAFURA

Udang jerbung (Penaeus merguiensis) merupakan salah satu komuditas ekspor dari Indonesia dan menjadi target penangkapan kapal pukat udang yang beroperasi di Laut Arafura. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa laju tangkap, kepadatan stok dan beberapa aspek biologi udang jerbung yang berada di Laut Arafura khususnya di perairan Dolak. Dari 229 kali towing jumlah hasil tangkapan udang jerbung adalah 6.705 kg. Rata-rata laju tangkap udang jerbung adalah 32,2 kg/haul atau 13,4 kg/jam. Dengan menggunakan metode luas sapuan trawl diduga kepadatan udang jerbung adalah 0,19 kg tiap km2. Panjang karapas dari 630 ekor udang jerbung berkisar antara 17-53 mm dengan nilai rata-rata 29,97 mm dan bobot rata-rata 26,13 kg. Hubungan bobot dan panjang karapas udang dapat dinyatakan dalam persamaan W = 0,006L2,448, r= 0,95 dengan nilai b = 2,448. Distribusi kelamin didominasi oleh udang betina dengan perbandingan antara jantan dan betina adalah 1,00:2,08. Lima puluh persen dari udang jerbung yang pertama kali tertangkap (Lc) berukuran 27,8 mm, sedangkan ukuran pertama kali matang gonad (Lm) adalah 38,7 mm. Hal ini mengidikasikan udang berukuran kecil mendominasi hasil tangkapan, dimana terbukti bahwa dari total 426 sampel udang betina 75,4 % dalam kondisi tidak matang gonad. Jika penangkapan terus berlanjut tanpa kontrol maka akan terjadi penurunan populasi sumberdaya udang, sehingga perlu pengelolaan yang berkelanjutan dengan menerapkan penutupan musim dan daerah pemijahan sumberdaya udang jerbung.Banana prawn (P. merguiensis) is one of the important Indonesian export commodities and the target of shirmp trawl catching in Arafura Seas. The objectives of this research were: 1). To analyze catch rate 2). estimate the stock density and3).  to study some biological aspect of Penaeus merguiensis in Arafura Seas. From a total of 229 trawl towing, amount of 6.705 kg of banana prawn was caught with an average of catch rate of 32,2 kg/houl or 13.43 kg / hr. By using swept area methods, the density of banana prawn was abouth 0.19 kg/km2. Average carapace length of 630 banana prawn tails was 29.97 mm and the average weight was 26,13 kg with a length range between 17 mm to 53 mm.. Size was first caught (Lc) on the size of 29.85 mm. Carapace length-weight relationship was  equation W = 0,006L2,448,r2 = 0,95 with b = 2,448. Distribution is dominated by female shrimp. Sex ratio between males and females is 1.0: 2.08. The size of 50% banana prawn at first caught (Lc) was 27,8 mm, while the siae of the first mature gonads (Lm) was 38,7 mm. It is indicating that the small prawn dominated the catch, which the proved also by out of total 426 samples of female prawn, 75,4% were having immature gonads. The resources will be decreased if the fishing activities continue without control, so required sustainable management by applying the close season and close area where prawn are spawning.

Danau Beratan yang terletak di kawasan Bedugul, Bali telah terintroduksiikan zebra cichlid (Amatitlania nigrofasciata Günther, 1867) secara tidak sengaja. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui potensi ikan zebra sebagai ikan asing invasif di Danau Beratan berdasarkan kajian pada beberapa aspek biologinya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei lapang di Danau Beratan, Bali pada bulan Mei, Juli dan Oktober 2011. Contoh ikan diperoleh menggunakan jaring insang percobaan dan jaring tarik. Analisis data meliputi hubungan panjang berat, faktor kondisi, parameter pertumbuhan, kebiasaan makanan dan aspek reproduksi ikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ikan zebra mendominasi hasil penangkapan. Ikan tersebut memiliki faktor kondisi yang baik dengan nilai laju pertumbuhan tahunan (K) yang tinggi, bersifat generalis dalam memanfaatkan sumber daya makanan dan matang gonad pada ukuran panjang yang kecil. Karakteristik biologi inimengindikasikan ikan tersebut memiliki potensi invasif yang cukup tinggi. Lake Beratanislocated inBedugul, Balihas been an unintentional introduction ofzebracichlid(Amatitlania nigrofasciataGünther, 1867). The aim of this research was to determine thepotential ofzebra cichlid becomeinvasivealienfish speciesinLake Beratanbasedonseveralbiological aspects.The study was carried outby field surveymethods in Lake Beratan, Bali on May, JulyandOctober 2011. Fish samples was obtained usingexperimentalgillnetsandmodification ofseine nets. Data analysis included the lengthweightrelationship, conditionfactor, growth parameters, foodhabitsand its reproduction aspects.
