B mode and Doppler ultrasonographic characteristics of the dominant follicle and corpus luteum in Criollo cows subjected to an oestrus synchronization protocol 同步发情方案下克里奥罗奶牛显性卵泡和黄体的B型和多普勒超声特征

The objective was to determine the ultrasonographic B mode and Doppler characteristics of the dominant follicle and corpus luteum in Criollo cows subjected to an oestrus synchronization protocol. The study was conducted at the Agricultural Experimental Station ILLPA during the months of May to July using 15 Criollo cows with regular body condition and fed with natural pasture, the protocol consisted of placing estradiol benzoate and intravaginal device on the first day, then on day 7 the device was removed and an analogue of Prostaglandin F 2α was applied, On day 8 estradiol benzoate was applied again and on day 9 artificial insemination was performed with semen from a single Fleckvieh sire, ultrasonographic evaluation was performed on days 7 and 9 (synchronization started) to determine the diameter of the dominant follicle, growth rate and diameter of the uterine horn, the evaluation of the corpus luteum was performed on day 19 determining the diameter, volume and luteal vascular area (%), all the analyses were performed with the Jamovi 1 Programme. 6.23.0. The results of the dominant follicle on day 7 was 8.69 mm and day 9 was 10.7 mm with a growth rate of 1.14 mm/day, the diameter of the right uterine horn was 11.85 mm (day 7) which increased to 15.32 mm (day 9) while the left horn increased from 12.72 to 16.27 mm. 72 to 16.27 mm, the characteristics of the corpus luteum were 7.96 mm diameter, volume 0.23 mm3 and luteal vascular area was 20.96 %, finally, the pregnancy rate obtained was 6 cows out of 15 inseminated which represents 40 %. In conclusion, the diameters and volume of the dominant follicle and corpus luteum are lower than those reported in other breeds in the same environmental conditions, the luteal vascular area was 20.96 %, the proportion of blood irrigation of the CL in Criollo cows and finally the pregnancy rate was 40 %. However, it is necessary to point out that these are the first reports of Doppler characteristics in Criollo cows

Cóctel de bacteriófagos como sustituto de antimicrobianos en dermatología de animales de compañía

Para este propósito, se realizó una búsqueda sistemática en la base de datos de Scopus, con el criterio de búsqueda: “veterinary” and “bacteriophage” and “dermatology” en título de artículo, resumen y palabras clave durante el periodo 2010-2021. Siete estudios in vitro y un estudio in vivo en animales de compañía, por lo cual se añadieron aquellos realizados en animales de laboratorio. En esta revisión se discute y proyecta la utilización de cócteles de fagos líticos no transductores como terapéuticos de piodermas, asimismo, se revisa la resistencia a fagos y las estrategias para superarla, la comparación con los antibióticos, el uso de cócteles en otras especies animales, así como, la utilización de fagos individuales y cócteles en dermatología veterinaria, y los fagos autóctonos como estrategia cuando las colecciones de fagos de estudios previos no tienen los efectos deseados. Se concluye que los cócteles de autofagos líticos no transductores son una alternativa contra la resistencia antimicrobiana en dermatología de animales de compañía. Finalmente, se recomienda comparar el uso de estos cócteles con otros sustitutos de antibióticos y evaluar su posible sinergismo para reducir bacterias patógenas en piel.

Rosario Mireya Romero Parra E-mail address: rromerop@continental.edu.pe El propósito de este estudio fue evaluar el crecimiento, sobrevivencia y rendimiento productivo de Litopenaeus vannamei en densidades de siembra de 22 Ind m en aguas de baja salinidad. Se presentan los resultados del cultivo del camarón blanco L. vannamei. Se sembraron PL de 0.023±0.013 g, en piscinas de 1 ha a densidades de 22 Ind/m. Los parámetros fisicoquímicos se midieron en el campo (oxígeno disuelto, temperatura, salinidad, pH, amonio, transparencia, dureza y alcalinidad). La salinidad promedio durante los días de cultivo fue de 4.8 ‰. Las PL estuvieron aclimatadas y adaptadas al agua dulce durante 72 h, en tanques de fibra de 2000 L antes de iniciar el ciclo de cultivo. Los camarones sembrados fueron alimentados con una dieta comercial (35 % de proteína) tres veces al día, la ración se ajustó diariamente de acuerdo a los resultados del monitoreo de 9 comederos de alimentación ubicadas en las piscinas. Se utilizó una estadística con representación descriptiva en el estudio de las derivaciones. El cultivo asumió una permanencia de 128 días y se verificaron los subsiguientes indicadores de producción: 74 % de sobrevivencia, 14.92 g de peso promedio, 1.9 FCA y un rendimiento de 1935 kg//ha/ciclo. Los resultados obtenidos, permiten concluir que, en la granja el Retorno del municipio Miranda tienen la posibilidad de la siembra de estos crustáceos con agua subterránea, logrando un crecimiento y supervivencia relacionados con censos lucrativos de rendimiento a baja salinidad.
