Características bioquímicas del plasma seminal intrauterino poscoital en llamas (Lama glama L.)

Attempts to cryopreserve semen in southamerican camelids have so far been unsatisfactory. There is a lack of infor- mation about the biochemical components of ejaculated semen and its high viscosity that prevents the use of geneticmaterial. The objective of this research was to analyze the composition of the intrauterine seminal plasma and by postcoital aspiration in flames. Six male 3 and 4 year old llamas were selected, the collection of semen was made by postcoital aspiration with the proctoscope of human use, deposited in a falcon tube of 14 mL after copulation. The semen wascentrifuged at 2800 rpm/15 min, for later analysis in the laboratory, commercial kits (Beckman Coulter and Medicon),and two automatic analyzers (Beckman Sxjnchron Cx7 Deltay Pictus 500 Diatron) were used. For the analysis of thedata, it was carried out using the t-Student test. There was no statistical difference for the concentrations of albumin,glucose, triglycerides, total protein, micro protein, cholesterol, alkaline phosphatase, sodium, calcium and magnesiumbetween ages (p≥0.05), the potassium concentration reported values of 10.8 ± 0.56 and 9.76 ± 0.64 mEq / L, beingstatistically different between ages (p≤0.05). The results of the research allow us to work with 3- and 4-year-old llamasfor semen donors in artificial insemination programs with fresh semen.

La importancia de los metabolitos secundarios en el control de nematodos gastrointestinales en ovinos con énfasis en Yucatán, México 次级代谢物在绵羊胃肠道线虫控制中的重要性,重点在yucatan,墨西哥

El uso de plantas ricas en taninos (PRT) con propiedades antihelminticas (AH) es una alternativa para el control de nematodos gastrointestinales (NGI) en especies de interes ganadero. La atencion en plantas con estas propiedades se debe principalmente a la aparicion y extension de poblaciones parasitarias resistentes a los antihelminticos. Recientemente en Yucatan se ha reportado el efecto de AH de extractos vegetales sobre huevos de Haemonchus contortus mediante la prueba de inhibicion de la eclosion. Entre las principales especies vegetales con propiedades AH destacan los extractos etanolicos y hexanicos, principalmente del follaje de Lysiloma latisiliquum, Laguncularia racemosa, Rizophora mangle y Avicennia germinans, Theobroma cacao y Coffea arabica. Sin embargo, recientemente se ha observado que las leguminosas son una importante fuente de metabolitos secundarios como Leucaena leucocephala, Lysiloma latisiliquum, Acacia cornigera y Mimosa bahamensis. La evidencia demuestra que los metabolitos secundarios que contienen algunas leguminosas forrajeras afectan diversos procesos biologicos de los nematodos gastrointestinales de rumiantes, por lo que podria ser una alternativa para el control de helmintos en la produccion de pequenos rumiantes.
