This paper presents a method to calculate the near field and the specific absorption rate (SAR) pattern in a cylindrical dissipative medium inside which an insulated asymmetrical dipole applicator is placed with his axis in parallel to the axis of the cylinder. The predicted SAR pattern is obtained by using the calculation of the direct numerical evaluation.

Development of Self-Calibration Techniques for On-Wafer and Fixtured Measurements: A Novel Approach 片上和固定测量的自校准技术的发展:一种新方法

Network Analyzer self-calibration techniques - TRL, LMR, TAR- are developed, implemented and compared in several transmission media. A novel LMR (Line-Match-Reflect) technique based on known LINE and REFLECT Standards, is proposed and compared to conventional LMR (based on known LINE and MATCH Standards) and other techniques (TRL, TAR). They are applied to on-wafer S-parameter measurement as well as to coaxial, waveguide and microstrip media. Experimental results up to 40 GHz are presented.

Microwave Education from the Point of View of Subsystem Engineering 从子系统工程的角度看微波教育

Recent trends in microwave engineering show that the education approach from the point of view of subsystems is better orientated to the practical implementation of systems. A tool was developed based on this idea for postgraduate education in microwaves and for the analysis and design of systems. The data for the implementation of the system are just its general specifications and the modules available in microwave market.

Antenna Phase Pattern Measurements using Three Power Meters 使用三个功率计测量天线相位图

A phaseless antenna phase pattern measurement method has been demonstrated at millimeter waves using three power meters instead of a phase sensitive measurement device. The conventional phase measurement device is replaced by three power dividers and three power meters (or detectors). The phase patterns measured with three power meters agree well with the measurements carried out using an antenna measurement receiver as well as with the theory.

Characterizing Highly Efficient Millimetre Wave Single Barrier Varactor Multiplier Diodes 高效毫米波单势垒变容倍增器的特性研究

This paper addresses characterization and design of single barrier varactors (SBV) for multiplier applications. There is an optimum ratio between the maximum and minimum capacitance for the diode used as an multiplier. The embedding impedance requirement is analyzed. Different combinations of epitaxial materials are investigated experimentally and theoretically. It is shown that diodes based on InAs are much more promising than those based on GaAs or GaInAs materials. It is also shown that a tripler using an InAs SBV diode should yield a considerably improved performance over a similarly optimized Schottky diode tripler.

High Output Port Isolation and Low Intermodulation Distortion Multi-Port-Amplifier 高输出端口隔离和低互调失真多端口放大器

The multi-port-amplifier (MPA) is an innovative on-board power amplifier for multi-beam mobile satellite communications because it enables the efficient use of DC power and the flexible allocation of RF power. It is important for the multi-beam mobile satellite communications system using the MPA to reduce the signal interference in the adjacent beam overlap area and to reduce intermodulation distortion (IMD) caused by multi-carrier amplification. In an MPA, high output port isolation and low IMD are achieved by a novel combination of high power amplifier (HPA) arrangement and a demultiplexer/multiplexer configuration. This paper proposes an arrangement method of HPAs, which are the components of the MPA, to improve the isolation among the output ports without affecting the output power. An MPA configuration to reduce IMD is also proposed.

How to Determine Chiral Material Parameters 如何确定手性材料参数

This paper discusses how material parameters of a chiral slab can be determined from the measured reflected and transmitted fields of the slab in free space. The method uses a so called K-notation in the constitutive relations of a chiral material. This allows one to derive analytical formulas for permittivity, permeability and chirality parameters of the measured material.

A New Approach for FET Modelling 场效应管建模的新方法

A FET model is presented whichl is based on an analytical approximation of the velocity overshoot. The bias dependent peak velocity and the electric field in short-channel-FET's are described by means of a new principle in physical simulation. Thiis approach is equivalent to the use of a saturation velocity, whiiclh depends not only on gate-length but also on bias. Surface effects are taken into account in a simple way. The theoretical results are in good agreement with experimental data of the small signal and noise behaviour of a GaAs-MESFET.

Comparative Study of Monolithic Microstrip and Coplanar Strips Lines for Electrooptic Light Modulators 电光调制器用单片微带和共面带线的比较研究

In this communication, double heterostructure GaAs/GaAlAs MMIC microstrip and coplanar strips structures are studied over the 2-18 GHz band, for their use as travelling wave electrooptic modulators. The obtained theoretical and experimental results show that the coplanar strips configuration, under odd mode excitation, presents less insertion losses and quite less dispersion in comparison to the microstrip structure.

Techniques for Noninvasive Reconstruction of Inhomogeneous Lossy Dielectric Targets using Interrogating Microwaves 利用询问微波无创重建非均匀有损介质目标的技术

A class of microwave imaging methods based on integral equations and the moment method is considered. In particular, a pseudoinversion-based multiview approach and an alternative version making use of the first-order Born approximation are presented. Results on dielectric reconstructions of cylindrical scatterers with high complex dielectric permittivities are reported. An approach to the reconstruction of objects buried in a half-space is also described.
