Student learning can be through learning strategy while doing. Lecturers with students involved in research activities in the field of land classification and in the laboratory (experiential learning). This learning strategy is meant for mastering concepts and practicing scientific thinking. The object of research is soil in the village of Sumberbrantas, the area on the slopes of Mount Arjuno as a vast expanse of farmland. Sumberbrantas villagers are almost all farmers and are centers of vegetable producers. Based on the soil taxonomy in Sumberbrantas Village including the order Andisol. Specifically, we need to know the level of great group and sub group to be able to give information according to the land use. Experiential learning is designed to engage students in full-time research in the field and laboratory tests. The results that students have the capabilities of knowledge and scientific work skills. This study aims to find out how the implementation of Cooperative Learning learning models of Think Pair Share type is to increase interest in learning Geography and to determine the effect of the application of Cooperative Learning learning models of Think Pair Share on the interest in learning Geography in class XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Talaga District of Talaga, Majalengka District. The research method used is Quasi Experiment (Quasi Experiment) with Post-Test only control group design research design. Data collection techniques include observation, interview, documentation, questionnaire distribution, and literature study while data analysis is done by descriptive analysis and t-test. The study population consisted of 181 students of class XI IPS, with a total sample of 68 students divided into two classes, namely 33 students in the control class and 35 students in the experimental class. Determination of the sample is done by using a random sampling technique. The results of the study with descriptive analysis techniques illustrate that the application of Think Pair Share type learning models is carried out in three stages: thinking, pairing and ending with sharing. The effect of the application of Think Pair Share learning model on the interest in Geography learning is done by using the t-test analysis technique to produce a significance value of 0.375 meaning that the hypothesis is proven. The application of the Think Pair Share learning model has a significant influence on the excellent category of students 'learning interest in the XI IPS class of SMA Negeri 1 Talaga, Talaga Subdistrict, Majalengka District, as seen from the indicators: feelings of excitement, interest, student involvement and students' attention to geography subjects. One of the learning components as a determinant of the learning success is learning the model. In fact, the components of learning can work effectively if a teacher has competences in applying the learning model that would fit into a learning. Therefore, this study aims to unravel geography teachers perception on the implementation of the mind map on a scientific approach. This study employed a qualitative research involving five geography teachers. The data was collected using a structured interview. It was then analyzed by reducing the data, coding, tabulating, displaying, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that there are problems in implementation mind map in the scientific approach. Teachers have difficulty in applying mind map on a scientific approach so that mind map is abandoned. It is caused by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. The intrinsic factor is teachers are less aware of the implementation and function of the mind map. Furthermore, the extrinsic factor is caused by the strict supervision department against the selection of learning models. This problem has an impact on a limited choice of learning models including the mind map with a scientific approach. Keywords—Learning Model, Mind Map, Scientific Approach,
