The Algol 68 syntax is defined with the two-level grammars of A. van Wijngaarden which generate recursively enumerable sets, their recognition problem being generally algorithmically insolvable. The original grammar of Algol 68 could be considered only as a document. An effective method for the analysis of Algol 68 had to be found on the basis of others more simple classes of grammars, and an adequate tool for its implementing had to be built. Later the tool was implemented in the technological complex SYNTAX.

The first graduation of the mathematics faculty at Gorky University happened in 1957 thanks to the support of Prof. A.A. Lyapunov. He was the head of the programming section of the Department of Mathematics at the V.A. Steklov Institute of Mathematics, USSR. He also was a professor of the mathematics and mechanics faculty of Moscow State University (MSU). The whole academic year 1956-1957 six students of the physics and mathematics faculty of GSU spent in Moscow because there were no computers in the Gorky region, including the almighty VNIIEF (Sarov).

ALGOL 68 and Its Impact on the USSR and Russian Programming ALGOL 68及其对苏联和俄罗斯编程的影响

In this article history of Algol 68, USSR research groups implementing this language and it's impact on the programming as a whole in USSR are described. Algol 68 Working Group headed by academician Andrey Ershov was organized. This group had meetings 4-5 times a year in different USSR cities where Russian terminology, practical questions of translation technique, etc were discussed. History of A68LGU translator development is described. This Algol 68 translator was very popular in USSR both in the universities and industrial enterprises. DSL (Domain Specific Languages) languages based on Agol 68 and their usage in the USSR are shown. Also some questions of Algol 68 use in education and it's role in new HLL (High Level Language) computers creation is mentioned.

Software for a Small Computer "Setun" 小型计算机“设置”软件

The first in the world ternary computer - “Setun” was developed at Moscow State University in 1958 and was serialized in 1961-1965 by Kazan Mathematical Machines Plant. “Setun” was aimed to solve middle-level tasks and was intended for use at design bureaus, universities, research institutes, factories, etc. Developers were able to create a small-size, inexpensive, reliable and easy-to-service computer. Such qualities were achieved, on the one hand, by using ferro-magnetic elements on miniature ferrite cores and semiconductor diodes as hardware components, on the other - a ternary symmetric numerical system that supports optimal arithmetic construct.

The Operating Computing Complex "Dnepr-2" 运行计算中心“第聂伯-2”

In paper shortly describes handling calculable complex "Dnepr-2, which including a calculable machine "Dnepr-21" and handling machine "Dnepr-22" for the management by Technologies Processes (TP) objects to Automatisation Systems. Complex"Dnepr-2" was elaborated in Institute of cybernetics AN Ukraine and his special designer bureau of mathematical machines and systems under the direction of the academician V.M. Gluchkov (Decision of CM USSR No 1250 from 12.12.1965). This complex was one of pioneer works in USSR. In him on period of 60 years of past century new and original scientific and technical decisions are realized. In complex "Dnepr-2" was realized management by the calculation and treatment in real time by objects, system of breaking, operation system with the division of time, translators from the new languages (Auto cod, Algol-60, COBOL and others).
