Breast cancer continues to be one of the main priorities in global health and public health, and remains the most frequent and deadly malignant neoplasm in women worldwide. Breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is a rare type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, whose pathogenesis and pathophysiology are not well known, but which is seen with increasing frequency due to the increase in cosmetic procedures. To date, there are limitations in terms of knowledge about the clinical behavior of the disease, which can manifest itself in many forms, with a variable evolution time and uncertain surgical outcomes in the medium- and long-term. Based on the above, the aim of this review is to summarize evidence on the clinical considerations and surgical outcomes of breast implant-associated cancer to facilitate the identification and management of this condition. A bibliographic search was performed in the search engines and databases PubMed, ScienceDirect, Embase, EBSCO and MEDLINE. Within the clinical and surgical considerations, the type of implant used (textured), the time of the implant history, the severity of the manifestations, and the staging, must be taken into account in order to determine the opportunity for surgical intervention and neoadjuvant therapy, and to try to guarantee survival and avoid recurrence. Patients who undergo complete capsulectomy with radiotherapy have better outcomes.

Introduction: Case reports are a type of biomedical publication that allow us to share experiences regarding the etiology, diagnosis, therapeutics, and prognosis of anecdotal events that occur both in one and in several patients during clinical practice. Objective: to elaborate methodological recommendations for the elaboration of the discussion of a clinical case report. Methods: A narrative review of international guidelines and available evidence was carried out. Results: A total of 411,227 articles were located, finally selecting 10 narrative review articles. Discussion: The discussion is the most relevant section of the case report despite being considered by some journals as an optional contribution. We recommend for the elaboration of the discussion, to follow the following four steps: a) finding and comparison with the current evidence, b) justification of the causality of the findings, c) limitations and strengths in the management of the exposed case and d) clinical implications and prospects for the future. Conclusion: It is recommended to follow the four sequential steps for the elaboration of the discussion and to evaluate its impact on the scientific production in undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Inflammatory transverse myelitis is a rare condition that affects one or more levels of the spinal cord. Its etiology includes multiple sclerosis, infectious causes, or disorders within the spectrum of neuromyelitis optica. It presents acutely with motor, sensory, and/or dysautonomic symptoms, such as those related to the gastrointestinal and urinary systems. Diagnosis is based on symptomatology, evolution, and is confirmed by lumbar puncture, magnetic resonance imaging, and complete blood analysis. We present a clinical case of a patient with transverse myelitis who presented with gastrointestinal symptoms, motor symptoms, and was diagnosed with magnetic resonance imaging.

Background: This study aimed to determine the relationship between diet quality and nutrition knowledge (CN) and nutrition practices (NP) of people who perform physical activity (PA) regularly. Methods: Two hundred healthy individuals who attended the gym at least three times a week were studied. The quality of the diet is calculated using the Healthy Eating Index-2015 (HEI-2015). Linear regression models were used multiplex to assess associations between NC and PN scores and dietary variables. Results: Of the participants, 47.0% had poor NC and 48.0% had poor NP. It was determined that the PN scores were significantly associated with whole grain, seafood, and herbal protein and quality total diet (p < 0.05), while CN scores were not associated with the quality of the diet or its components (p > 0.05). A one-unit increase in CN score resulted in a 26.7% increase in snack consumption adjusted for age, sex, educational level, body mass index (BMI), smoking, alcohol consumption, and activity physical (PA)( p < 0.001). The evaluation of the PN score was related to the main meals (β = 0.065±0.013; 95% CI 0.04–0.09; p < 0.001), snack consumption (β = 0.029±0.014, 95% CI 0.01–0.06; p < 0.05), and total quality of diet (β = 0.894±0.329; 95% CI 0.24–1.54; p < 0.05). Additionally, about 17% of the variability in the PN score could be explained by CN scores. Conclusions: Elevated NC was associated with an increase in BW scores and indirectly with an increase in diet quality. In order to see the beneficial effects of PA on health, people must rely on a healthy diet, increasing your CN.

Neonatal gastric perforation is a rare but potentially fatal pathology; its recurrence is even more infrequent, and there are few reports in the international literature. We present the case of a premature newborn (32 weeks) and low birth weight (1725g) who, on the first day of life, presented a surgically corrected gastric perforation and on the fourth postoperative day was re-operated with a presumed diagnosis of gastric raffia dehiscence, finding a new gastric perforation, which was surgically repaired. On both occasions, the surgical intervention was early. The subsequent evolution and outcome were favorable.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer and the second leading cause of death worldwide with an incidence of 10.2%. The treatment of CRC has changed over the past 25 years. Two surgical procedures are used: abdominoperineal resection (AR) and low anterior resection (LAR) and ultra-low (ULAR). The recurrence rate and quality of life are similar. Objective: To compare quality of life for rectal cancer (CRC) patients treated with abdominoperineal resection vs conservative resections: low anterior (LAR) and ultra-low (ULAR) in UMAE Puebla. Methods: A comparative, observational, cross-sectional study was conducted in CRC patients treated during 2015-2019 in a 3rd level hospital in Puebla. Two groups were formed: those managed with RA, and those managed with LAR/ULAR. The EORT QLQ CR-29 and EuroQol scale was applied. Descriptive statistics and Man-Whitney U were applied for comparisons. Results: A total of 26 patients were recruited: 18with AR and 18 with LAR/ULAR. A mean QoL was recorded in the RAP group of 73.72 (SD 16.92, minimum 31.46, maximum 95.09) and in the RAB/RAUB group of 56.22 (SD 6.29, minimum 47.51, maximum 68.96), with a value of p=0.005. Conclusion: There is no significant difference in the quality of life of patients of CRC patients operated by AR, LAR and ULAR (non-conservative and conservative approach).

However, despite the development of new technologies and due to the slow evolution and uncertain healing of corneal lesions, they still represent a public health problem since patients can be affected for life, affecting the family and the health system due to the costly and uncertain response to treatment. For this reason, the need arises to seek therapeutic alternatives to treat these patients.
