EFFECT OF SOME ANTIOXIDANTS AGAINST POWDERY MILDEW DISEASE OF GRAPES IN EGYPT 几种抗氧化剂对埃及葡萄白粉病的防治效果

Grapes powdery mildew disease caused by Uncinula necator (Schw.) is one of the most critical diseases attacking grapes fruits, buds and leaves causing considerable yield losses. This study compared the effectiveness of three antioxidants on powdery mildew disease (ascorbic acid, citric acid and boric acid) in controlling the powdery mildew of grapes. The antioxidants were significantly better improving disease control and fruit yield production of grapes than the control. Ascorbic acid and citric acid were the most effective antioxidants on powdery mildew disease and increasing the yield.
葡萄白粉病(Uncinula necator, Schw.)是葡萄果实、芽和叶的主要病害之一,造成严重的产量损失。本研究比较了抗坏血酸、柠檬酸和硼酸三种抗白粉病剂对葡萄白粉病的防治效果。抗氧化剂对防治葡萄病害和提高葡萄产量的效果显著优于对照。抗坏血酸和柠檬酸是防治白粉病和提高产量最有效的抗氧化剂。

ANTHRACNOSE CROWN ROT DISEASE OF STRAWBERRY PLANTS IN EGYPT AND ITS CONTROL 埃及草莓炭疽病及其防治

Isolation and identification of fungal pathogens were purified and identified as: Colletotrichum acutatum, Alternaria tenius and others. C. acutatum and A. tenius were the most frequent fungi that isolated from samples of strawberry plant materials which collected from the different locations in both seasons 2013/ 2014 and 2014/ 2015. Susceptible strawberry cultivar Florida was highly susceptible one where infection reached to 100% infection by Colletotrichum acutatum isolate. 2. Also, Alternaria tenius was pathogenic to c..v Florida, but came in the second rank in pathogenicity tests. The most effective bioagent was T. viride. Also, treating strawberry plants with different concentrations of organic acids affected greatly C. acutatum and A.tenius Ascorbic acid at 200 ppm concentration is the best effective concentration in controlling both pathogens in vitro .. Gall extract affected greatly the growth of. both pathogens in all daily records from 1-6 days, followed by both plant extracts Mustard and Clove.. Two fungicides (recommended for up ground diseases of strawberry plants); i.e., Bellis 38% WG (with three doses; 0.4 g/L., 0.8 g/L. and 1.6 g/L.) and Amistar 25% SC (with three doses; 2.5 ml/l., 5 ml/l. and 10 ml/l.) were used in this experiments. . Complete inhibition of fungal growth was noticed in both high concentration of the tested fungicides and little growth was happened in the low concentration of Bellis and Amistar. A. tenius was revealed as less tolerant to fungicides than C. acutatum. All tested treatments against both pathogens in vitro under laboratory conditions were applied in vivo under field conditions on strawberry plants cv. Florida to investigate their effects on plants under natural infection in field. All growth characteristics of different parts of strawberry cv. Florida like leaves number, lateral branches, flower number, green fruits, colored fruits, TSS% and fruits weight were affected as a result of infection with pathogens and treated with different chemical, biological and agricultural treatments, there were great variations among all applied treatments in this respect, The best treatments were fungicides, followed by gall extract and un-mulched control treatment comparing with other treatment and control treatment (un-treated) , All disease symptomson strawberry cv. Florida were calculated on plant leaves, flower parts, vegetative fruit characteristics. Black spot, irregular spot, black margin, petiole lesions and dead leaf were calculated during the period ranged between 3-15 days at 15 Pth P 30Pth P March, 2015. Both chemical fungicides (Bellis 38% WG and Amistar 25% SC) controlled completely the leaf infection symptoms, followed by Galls 10%. Treating plants with Kocide 2000, Ascorbic acid 5% and T viride protected plants with various degrees of infection.

FACTORS AFFECTING THE ACCEPTANCE OF HONEYBEE QUEEN CUPS AND ROYAL JELLY PRODUCTION 影响蜂王杯和蜂王浆生产接受度的因素

Royal jelly is one of the most important honey bee products. it plays vital roles in honeybee biology and in the improvement of human health. Production of royal jelly affecting by many factors. The study aimed to investigate some factors affecting the honeybee queen's acceptance and the amount produce of royal jelly. Effecting of different batches within cub positions during different seasons were studied. The colonies were moved from their original place in the middle of the day to another place away inside the apiary. It was equipped with empty wooden colonies that placed in the places of the original breeding colonies. The highest acceptance percentage mean was 62.7±5.013 % recorded at third batch. As the lowest percentage mean was 54 ±4.855 % recorded at fifth batch, the highest royal jelly quantity mean was 153.5±5.887 % recorded in third batch. As the lowest percentage mean was 141.2 ±6.149 recorded in fifth batch. The grafted queen cups acceptance percentages mean affecting significant by cups position, different seasons and patches.

TOXICITY AND REPELLENCY EFFECTS OF FIVE ESSENTIAL OILS AGAINST TETRANYCHUS URTICAE KOCH, AND THE PREDATORY MITE AGISTEMUS EXSERTUS GONZALEZ (ACARI: TETRANYCHIDAE, STIGMAEIDAE) 5种精油对荨麻疹叶螨和叶螨的毒性及驱避效果研究(蜱螨目:叶螨科,刺甲科)

The present study was carried out to conduct a laboratory test of toxicity, and repellency or attractancy effects of five essential oils (garlic, thyme, menthol, jojoba and camphor) against Tetranychus urticae and Agistemus exsertus. Results indicated that garlic oil gave the highest percentages of mortality when used at 2% concentration (81.43%) as mean mortality after 7 days of spray on the two spotted spider mite, T. urticae followed by camphor, recorded 27.14, 42.86 and 65.00% mean mortality at 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0% concentrations, while jojoba oil recorded only 32.14% mean mortality ranged from 6.43 to 79.29% when concentrations from 0.5 to 10% used. The lowest effect was obtained when menthol oil was used, only 14.29% mean mortality obtained at 2.0% concentration while the highest mortality obtained at 10.0% concentration (77.86% after 7 days). As for the predatory mite, A. exsertus, data cleared that both garlic and camphor have high toxic effect when 5.0% and 10.0% concentrations used, recorded 66.43, 79.29% for garlic and 62.14, 77.14% for camphor. While thyme gave the lowest effect followed by jojoba with 10.0% concentration. The most safety oil on the predatory mite was menthol, without any effect at 0.5, 1.0, 2.0% concentration. Also, the study showed that menthol and camphor have high repellency effect after one and six hours, but the thyme oil have the lowest repellency effect where recorded the second class of repellency (21:40%) after one hour for T. urticae. The obtained results also indicated that the camphor oil have the highest repellency oil, 2.0% concentration for the predator mite A. exsertus. It could be concluded that both garlic and camphor are sufficient oils to control of T. urticae at 10.0% concentration and more toxic on A. exsertus, Also menthol have high repellency effect and good toxicity effect on T. urticae with safe use on A. exsertus also thyme have sufficient toxicity effect on T. urticae.

The obtained results also indicated that the camphor oil have the highest repellency oil, 2.0% concentration for the predator mite A. exsertus. The integrated control of aphid achieved highly significance differences, so that the aphid population in IPM field formed 18.4% comparing with the total average in the farmer field. The green beans yield gained net return about 10000 Egyptian pounds / feddan as a result to apply the IPM program.
综合防治蚜虫取得了高度显著性差异,IPM田间蚜虫数量占农民田间总平均水平的18.4%。采用IPM方案后,青豆单产净收益约为10000埃及镑/日。

: This article was conducted to survey true spiders inhabiting three varieties of date palm in Egypt, as well as the biological aspects of Thanatus albini , Audouin, (Araneae: Philodromidae) on larvae of red palm weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus ,Olivier, (Coleoptera : Curculionidae ) to know the possibility of control the larvae of red palm weevil by the spider T. albini as a biological control method. Date palm fruits of Samani variety was chosen from El-Beheira Governorate represented soft date variety and Siwi variety used as semi-dried variety from Fayoum Governorate while Apremy variety was the dried fruits variety tested from Aswan Governorate. Also, Menoufia, Cairo, Gharbia, Sharkia, Dimetta, Giza, Fayoum, Beni-Sweief, Menia and Aswan Governorates were chosen for study the abundance of spiders in stores. The date palm fruits were collected and identified during the study period from October 2016 till September 2017. The obtained results which conducted on different date palm varieties indicated that the soft and semi dried varieties harbored many of spiders and these spiders obviously decreased in the dried varieties. The obtained data indicated also that the most abundant families were Philodromidae and Salticidae on leaves and Miturgidae, Hersilidae and Lycosidae associated with fruits in the field and on stored date fruits. The biological aspects of the T. albini reared on the larvae of the red palm weevil, R. ferrugineus at 25 ± 2 ºC and 60 ± 5 % RH indicated that the life cycle of the tested spider was 169.87 ± 5.29 and 148.73 ± 3.37 days for female and male, respectively. The food consumption of both female and male was 491.83 ± 46.81 and 310.35 ± 47.76 larvae of the red palm at the same pervious conditions, respectively.

Population density of Aphis craccivora attacking green beans plants cultivated at Ashmoon, Menoufia cleared that the summer season was the highest abundance , since the total average recorded 3226.0 immature insects / 10 leaves and 340 mature insects /10 leaves , whereas in the winter season the total numbers average 81.1 immature insects /10leaves and 60.0 mature insects /10 leaves . The percentages of predators to aphid numbers reached to 34.1 and 19.7 5 in both seasons of study, respectively.
青豆蚜对梅努菲亚Ashmoon地区青豆植物的种群密度以夏季最高,平均未成熟虫数为3226.0只/10片,成熟虫数为340只/10片,而冬季平均未成熟虫数为81.1只/10片,成熟虫数为60.0只/10片。两季捕食者与蚜虫的比例分别为34.1和19.7.5。
