An Advanced Data Detection Method for 34.6-Gbit/in2 Multilevel Recording using a Blue Laser and NA0.85 Optics 一种基于蓝激光和NA0.85光学器件的34.6 gbit /in2多电平记录先进数据检测方法

In this study, a commercial BD (Blu-ray disc) and BD optics (blue laser and NA0.85) were used for multilevel recording. The goal is to double both the present capacity and data transfer rate. To achieve this, it is necessary to overcome severe inter-symbol interference (ISI) from outer cells at a small cell length. In order to suppress ISI, we have developed an advanced data detection method that uses CBDD (Cell Boundary Data Detection) and TCM (Trellis-Coded-Modulation), and have achieved an areal density of 34.6-Gbit/in2 multilevel recording.

In this work, the crystallization characteristics and recording mechanism of a-Si/Ni bilayer recording film under thermal annealing and pulsed laser irradiation are investigated. The optical properties of the a-Si/Ni bilayer recording film before and after annealing were measured. In addition, the dynamic test was conducted to evaluate the potential of the a-Si/Ni bilayer for use in the write-once blue-ray disk

We introduce a method to align the angle of reference beam holographic data storage by using a photodiode in front of image sensor, the brightness of information data can be easily extracted. From the output of the photodiode, we can quickly find the optimal angle for readout beam

Prospects and Limitations for Large Numbers of Multi-Layers in Optical Data Storage 大规模多层光数据存储的前景与限制

Fourth-generation technologies that use multiple layers are now under investigation. This presentation describes the inter-layer interference and crosstalk characteristics of multiple layers under several illumination conditions using Babinet decomposition of the recording structure. Limitations based on performance bounds are introduced for various film characteristics, like reflectivity, transmission and layer spacing. Primary results include that the total crosstalk is minimized for certain layer spacings for both coherent and incoherent illuminations. The incoherent illumination shows lower values of total crosstalk and more generous tolerances than the coherent illumination
