Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is widely used in agriculture for the purpose of monitoring, controlling and managing the crops. This paper presents the development of wireless sensor network system to monitor the environment parameters in Harumanis Mango orchard using temperature, humidity, soil moisture sensor by utilizing RF transceiver module and PIC18 microcontroller. The wireless sensor nodes transmit wirelessly the temperature, humidity and soil moisture sensor data to the base station. The system was successfully tested in Harumanis Mango orchard and its capability and feasibility towards monitoring the environment's temperature, humidity and soil moisture level are established. The data were successfully captured and stored in a local server.

Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) (stroke) ranks amongst the highest causes of morbidity and mortality in Trinidad and Tobago. The cost of rehabilitation could be quite prohibitive resulting in direct relationship between an individual's recovery and his/her financial position. We have designed some low-cost games using a haptic pointing device for rehabilitation. These games make it fun, can be played with family members and reduce the cost and time of recovery.

This paper presents a modification of the ElGamal Encryption Algorithm which allows multiple senders to encrypt a plaintext message using multiple private keys intended for a single recipient for decryption. This provides a solution to situations requiring an extra level of security through multiple monitoring and multiple controls. The additional private keys used by the process also improve the complexity of the algorithm which limits the chance of breaking the algorithm using brute force or systematic attack.

The 5G LTE-Advanced with Carrier Aggregation (CA) technology is a promising next generation of all IP mobile networks which has been invented and developed by 3GPP. The CA technique is very vital to support the 5G LTE-A network with unprecedented speed of data transmission and minimal latency. One of the main challenges in the presence of CA is to offer robust and suitable resource scheduling scheme in order to support and fulfill the user level Quality-of-Services (QoS) requirements for diversified services “Real-Time (RT) and Non-Real-Time (NRT) traffic”. In this paper, a User-Level Quality of Service aware packet scheduling for OFDMA resource blocks in 5G LTE-A system with CA scheme is designed. An improved Joint User Carrier Scheduling algorithm (IJUCS) suitable to various traffic users is proposed by introducing the service weight factor. The design objective is to guarantee the user quality of service (QoS) and equitable allocation of radio resources among users. The simulation outcome demonstrates that proposed IJUCS has mitigate average packet delay, Packet Drop Rate (PDR), and variation of average packet drop (STD) of real-time users as compared to the conventional JUCS and fulfils the user's throughput requirements of NRT streaming video traffic.

This paper is about the ball trajectory analysis of a multimode cricket bowling machine. The bowling machine is used to provide training for batsmen by emulating bowler's behaviour. This, in turn, reduces the risk of injuries experienced by bowlers. The experiments were divided into three groups namely ball velocity, bowling distance, and ball spin rate. For ball velocity under three machine speed settings, the measured data between dry and wet ball showed a difference in magnitude but with similar consistency. The optimal wheel pressure to produce the best dry ball velocity among those tested was 6.25 psi. The effect of speed ratio on the ball velocity was also observed from the measured velocity data where the ball velocity increase, as wheel's rotational velocity increases, peaked at 2000 rpm before decreasing. From the comparison between measured bowling length and line to that of calculations, the suitable drag coefficient value was 0.4 for estimating the ball trajectory. From the analysis, ball wetness, wheel pressure, and speed ratio were determined to be important in evaluating the performance of the cricket bowling machine.

The paper discussed on the development of a simulated brain model, microwave signal acquisition, signal processing, 2D and 3D representation. Phantom model is the main component in the research. A human-like brain model was simulated based on the real human brain relative permittivity, ∊r. The simulated model covered the greymatter and whitematter layers with the representative ∊r = 38 and ∊r = 28 at frequency 10 GHz. In microwave signal data acquisition process, the data were obtained based on the simulated brain model. Envelope detection, subtraction, window functions and proposed superposition technique function are applied to extract the information from the microwave signal. The subtracted microwave signals are represented in 2D and 3D representation for tumor location and size defining.

In text classification with machine learning, utilizing terms as features using vector space representation can result in the high dimensionality of feature space. This condition introduces problems including high computational cost in data analysis, as well as degradation of classification accuracy. This study improved classifier's performance in the classification of natural crisis-related Twitter messages. Feature space dimensionality through feature selection was reduced using Genetic Algorithm (GA). While there is a limitation of GA implementation in text feature selection which is the premature convergence due to lack of population diversity in the subsequent generations, GA was enhanced in its crossover operator through: a) setting a variable slice-point on the size of genes to be swapped for every offspring creation, b) using features' frequency scores in deciding the swapping of genes. Several Twitter datasets were tested applying the algorithm enhancement and performed a comparative analysis with two standard GA implementation that uses a single-point and multi-point crossover. Experimental results showed the superiority of the enhanced GA in terms of reducing the number of selected features and in improving classification accuracy using Multinomial Naive Bayes.

Pathfinding is essential and necessary for agent movement used in computer games and many other applications. A primary concern of pathfinding is to find the shortest feasible path. The past decade has seen the rapid development of pathfinding in many games industry. Several attempts and solutions have been made to solve the problem. Heuristic A∗ algorithm has proven given an optimal for single agent and small size of search in current game industry. However, pathfinding solution is often requiring huge amount of resources especially in complex game environment. Hence, generation a feasible and optimal path more computationally burdensome or intractable. More recently, literature has come out that offers findings about metaheuristic in pathfinding. Metaheuristic is usually used in pathfinding problem. Bee algorithm is a metaheuristic algorithm which is naturally behaves as multi-agent approach and proven efficient in solving the path planning problem. The current research on Bee algorithm mostly focused on improving optimization for agent. The aim of this paper is to describe and compare traditional algorithm, A∗ algorithm and optimization search, Bee algorithm in pathfinding.

This paper presents a pipeline time-to-digital converter (TDC) using a programmable time amplifier (TA). The TA adds time intervals that contain quantization errors in different stages of the first conversion step to achieve time amplification. Therefore, the TA has advantages of programmability, good linearity and wide input range. The TDC is designed in a 65nm CMOS technology. A time resolution up to 5ps at 230MHz is achieved. The total power consumption is 3mW under a 1V supply.
