Electrical energy demand is increasing massively across the world due to population growth. From literature, the number of population will be double within next 50 years because of continuous growth, so the energy demand will be triple based on the current demand. This paper presents an effective and innovative self-sustainable energy harvesting system. Here, an approach to developing a case where electrical energy can be produced is presented. The proposed energy harvesting system consists of an uninterruptible power supply, motor, voltage stabilizer, pendulum, controller, dynamo, solar panel, and gearbox. The dynamo is mainly run by motor rotation. Pendulum and gearbox work as energy booster factor. The total system dynamically monitors by smart controlled. The subsystems work together to automatically generate energy. The main aim of this research is to provide a reliable solution for energy limitations, due to the increasing demand for energy around the world. The produced energy of the system can be determined by the position of gear base on rotation of Pinium, which make the system sustainable.

Data clustering is used in a number of fields including statistics, bioinformatics, machine learning exploratory data analysis, image segmentation, security, medical image analysis, web handling and mathematical programming. Its role is to group data into clusters with high similarity within clusters and with high dissimilarity between clusters. This paper reviews the problems that affect clustering performance for deterministic clustering and stochastic clustering approaches. In deterministic clustering, the problems are caused by sensitivity to the number of provided clusters. In stochastic clustering, problems are caused either by the absence of an optimal number of clusters or by the projection of data. The review is focused on ant-based sorting and ACO-based clustering which have problems of slow convergence, un-robust results and local optima solution. The results from this review can be used as a guide for researchers working in the area of data clustering as it shows the strengths and weaknesses of using both clustering approaches.

Rule-based classification is considered an important task of data classification. The ant-mining rule-based classification algorithm, inspired from the ant colony optimization algorithm, shows a comparable performance and outperforms in some application domains to the existing methods in the literature. One problem that often arises in any rule-based classification is the overfitting problem. Rule pruning is a framework to avoid overfitting. Furthermore, we find that the influence of rule pruning in ant-miner classification algorithms is equivalent to that of local search in stochastic methods when they aim to search for more improvement for each candidate solution. In this paper, we review the history of the pruning techniques in ant-miner and its variants. These techniques are classified into post-pruning, pre-pruning and hybrid-pruning. In addition, we compare and analyse the advantages and disadvantages of these methods. Finally, future research direction to find new hybrid rule pruning techniques are provided.

The early detection of plant diseases is one of the main reasons that can reduce the world crop losses. It requires a tremendous amount of effort, money, and time. Therefore, the algorithms used in image processing make it possible to detect plant leaf diseases automatically. This paper focuses on detecting two types of bean leaf diseases including bacterial brown spot and powdery mildew. The detecting process involves acquisition, preprocessing, segmentation, feature extraction, and classification. The training and testing images are taken from a public database. The developed methodology can successfully detect the two types of plant leaf diseases with an accuracy of 100%.

Ultra-wideband low noise amplifiers are mostly used in modern wireless communication systems over narrowband amplifier because of the emerging 5G applications, where the bandwidth has dramatically increased compared with the previous 4G and LTE systems. Indeed, with the increased bandwidth, it is known that the design of amplifiers is getting more and more complicated. The main reason behind such complication is the enlarged noise figure since the noise of devices is directly proportional to the bandwidth. Another obstacle that faces designers is the high frequency of operation for most modern applications as this will increase the unwanted parasitic effects and thus complicate the circuit more. This review paper addresses the development of some of the commonly used techniques for the design of such wideband amplifiers.

This paper focuses on the prototype of the cold storage which is designed by BRAC University, Control & Applications Research Centre (CARC). The cold storage is a conventional freezer where its AC compressor is swapped by a DC compressor. It is run by the DC output of the solar panels and the battery banks. The batteries are simultaneously charged by the solar panels besides running the freezer. The batteries can give energy backup in the absence of the sun for almost four days. This project can be used as a micro storing system as well as a large cold storage. Various performance test analysis has been done to ensure the reliability and consistency of the system. The DC Compressor's Coefficient of Performance (COP) is 1.48 [1], which is more than the conventional AC Compressor system. As well, it's Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Payback Period (PP) is satisfying and ensures that it is a good solution to the poor's financial distress in rural areas.

This work focuses on the text detection of road sign directional board from the outdoor environment. We propose a fast and effective method to detect texts in the natural image and remove the blurring problem by adding a contrast enhancement method with Maximally Stable Extremal Regions (MSERs). Character candidates are detected by a MSERs algorithm with contrast intensify method. After that, non-text regions are removed with the geometric rules such as aspect ratio. Then to remove the false positive, the stroke width variation approach imposes. The properties of character candidates (e.g. stroke width, intensity, size, etc.) are used to form the word and distance between the characters are measured by the Euclidean Distance algorithm. Finally, text candidates are identified by the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and send a message to the drivers or pedestrians. This method has been evaluated by the public data set ICDAR 2011, ICDAR 2013, ICDAR 2015 and also a set of road sign directional board images.

The aircrafts in the modern age are well equipped by electrical devices are known as all electric aircraft (AEA). One of the main objectives of the aerospace industry for the future is AEA to save the fossil fuels, environment and cost. For aerospace propulsion system, electrical machines provide high torque density are dominant for the viability of direct-drive electrical propulsion of aircraft applications. Besides low-weight and high torque capability, a candidate solution should also be inherently fault tolerant for it to be used in aircraft applications. For these reasons a new type of machine has been introduced in last decade know as flux switching machine (FSM). In which all excitation sources are located on stator side with robust rotor structure. FSMs are categorized in to three types such as permanent magnet PM FSM, field excitation FE FSM and hybrid excitation HE FSM. PMFSM and FEFSM uses PM and FE coil for their excitation sources respectively, whereas both PM and FE coil are used in HEFSM for excitation. Since these machines have shown high torque-to-weight ratios and high efficiency during research in the last decade. Despite this, the task of designing a machine appropriate for this application goes beyond the electromagnetic design and into the area of mechanical design much deeper than for traditional designs. Therefore in this paper a new structure of dual stator (DS) HEFSM with segmental rotor is proposed and analyzed. The proposed design of DS HEFSM has simple structure with only six FECs and six PMs. New structure is analyzed using commercial 2D FEA package, JMAG-designer ver. 14.0, released by JSOL Corporation. This paper presents the coil test analysis of proposed HEFSM to confirm the working principle besides, performance analysis is presented at no load and load conditions.

The enormously growing population in urban areas and the impact it has on the urban environment escalates the need of sophisticated management approaches that acquire the latest advancements of ICT, IoT and AI to enhance every city offered service. A smart city is capable of monitoring the physical world in real time and gathering city and citizens related data, then processing and analyzing this data in order to control city facilities and influence the life of citizens. The emerging of such technologies in cities raises multiple security and privacy concerns and challenges at individual and community levels. Several attempts have been introduced to guarantee the security and privacy of sensed data. In this paper we examine the security and privacy of smart city applications, the challenges faced and the solutions proposed. We first introduce smart cities and we provide an overview of major security problems and current solutions in some categories of smart cities. We then investigate the security challenges related to both city infrastructure and data, and we propose a framework to overcome these challenges.

Modeling, design and control of a DC-DC converter using state-space averaging approached are presented. A proposed DC-DC converter topology is based on two half-bridge DC-DC converters which control the power between the battery, energy storage system (ESS) of an ultra-capacitor, and an output load resistance. Two well-known control schemes based on AC equivalent circuit modeling are used to design converter control system. The average voltage mode control is used for the boost converter operation and the two-loop average current mode control for the bidirectional operation. Control schemes are modeled and designed, the performance and responses were analyzed using Matlab/Simulink. The simulation results show that the proposed control system is capable to regulate efficiently the power flow between two DC sources.
