Introduction: Knowledge about dengue includes several aspects, such as clinical presentation, vector transmission mode, prevention measures and information source. Only from the health sector is disease control impossible , so community participation is indispensable. Objective: Determine the knowledge about dengue in two cities with high and low risk according to endemicity, Paraguay 2016. Methodology: Observational, analytical, crosssectional. The Directorate of Health Surveillance of the MSPyBS builds regional epidemiological scenarios, classifying them as endemic and nonendemic according to viral load. Endemic areas are reclassified according to epidemic thresholds at high risk, medium risk and low risk. Two districts, San Lorenzo, were selected as high risk (AR) and Itauguá low risk (BR); Trietapathic simple random sampling (apples, houses, people) was performed. 2 Ministerio de Salud Pública y Bienestar Social, Dirección General de Vigilancia de la Salud, Asunción,巴拉圭。 Rev. salud publica . 2020;Galeano R,等。 Rev. salud publica . 2020;《启示录》10(2):37-41| Vol. 10 N°2 | Julio Diciembre 2020 Rev. salud publica para。

Introduction: In Paraguay, tobacco smoking's negative impact demands the adoption of all available measures to reduce that impact. The presence or not of public support could potentially influence the adoption these measures. Objective: To determine the presence of public support to tobacco control policies. Methodology: The present was a cross-sectional descriptive study that used an online survey to assess public support to 13 tobacco control policies using a Likert-type scale from 1 to 5 (strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, strongly disagree). Results: There were 502 participants, 67.73% of which were women, 87.65% had completed studies at a tertiary level, and 63,75% were non-smokers. Measures that the most support were banning smoking from public transport (98,01%) and from public buildings (93,63%), banning tobacco sales to people under the age of 18 (96,81%), and issuing a fine to those who do it (96,22%), and raising tobacco taxes either to support for the health care expenditure attributable to smoking (94,02%) or to reduce the prevalence of smoking (90,64%). Measures that received the least support were banning tobacco advertisement in points of sale (56,97%) and banning tobacco display on points of sale (51%). Conclusion: All 13 tobacco control policies assessed in the present study received the majority of support from all participants. We recommend the adoption and enforcement of these measures.

Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of mortality and morbidity in the world today, which forces the continuous progress in early diagnosis and treatment strategies in order to improve the prognosis and decrease mortality. Undoubtedly this opens the doors to the field of research and in recent years there are the so-called serum biomarkers and among them microRNAs (miRNAs) that play a fundamental role both in the development and in the regulation of the cardiovascular system. The microRNAs are 19 to 25 nucleotides in size, they are the small group of RNA that has attracted the most attention in recent years. To date, approximately 2,500 miRNAs have been identified in the human genome. The miRNAs play a role in the regulation of various biological processes, such as embryogenesis, cell proliferation and differentiation, apoptosis or oncogenesis. In the cardiovascular system, miRNAs control the growth and contractility of cardiomyocytes, the development and maintenance of heart rhythm, the formation of atherosclerotic plaque, lipid metabolism and angiogenesis. They are also linked in the pathophysiology of several cardiovascular diseases, mainly heart failure, myocardial infarction, coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis, and cardiomyopathies of various etiologies, hence their determination in circulation could be useful in clinical practice as a potential biomarker in the diagnosis and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases.
