The age of information technology dictates to the world its priorities, the consideration of which is a prerequisite for building a competitive national economy. The most important priority in the XXI century is a transition to digitalization. Large-scale spread of digital technologies can provide economic growth, create a synergistic effect that extends to the economic, social, technological, intellectual and infrastructural components of development. Three methods of digitalization, which is designed to radically change production, on the examples of the manufacture of cast metal structures are presented in this article. The concept of "virtual engineering" as a modern interpretation of the design and commissioning of the process, including metal casting, is considered. Creation of high-tech products and productions is an interdependent complex of scientific, design, technological and production works. Virtual engineering of the metal casting process on gasified models is performed in Phy-sico-technological Institute of Metals and Alloys of the NAS of Ukraine (PTIMA NASU) in the department headed by O.I. Shin-sky and, in addition to the design of production equipment, includes the design of modeling equipment, treatment equipment, automation of technological processes and environmental monitoring of the entire production cycle that are commissioning in the conditions of the created productions. The method of digital twin products is determined by what indicators should be optimized for the characteristics of the product itself or the technology of its production, with designers using simulation models in the form of digital data. The main methods of additive production of patterns and sand molds for the manufacture of metal castings are considered, according to which the product is built in layers by the method of 3D printing, and the process is controlled by a computer program. The data on the volume of growth of the market of additive technologies and an example of a 3D-printer for wire melt printing are shown.

The analysis of the methods of control of the state of the useful capacity of blast furnace hearth was carried out, the rational technology of flushing the periphery and the entire hearth volume under operation conditions of blast furnaces with supply of coal powder fuel was developed. The diagnostic techniques of the state of the useful capacity of blast furnace hearth were analyzed, methods of determination of presence of hearth overloading were proposed, the signs of solid hearth overloading, requiring application of special measures of its cleaning were found out. As a rule, blast furnaces, including their hearths are flushed by charging some special flushing materials into blast furnaces. These flushing methods require additional calculations for flux consumption, coke mass into the charge, estimated cast iron chemical composition et al. Theoretical fundamentals of the possibility of flushing of the periphery of hearth without charging of flushing materials, by reducing consumption of oxygen blast for oxidizing hydrocarbonaceous additions were developed. The work also contains a critical analysis of application of the methods of flushing of the periphery and the entire volume of blast furnace hearths and a rational method of carrying out these operations was proposed that does not alter an even run of a blast furnace and does not presume charging of any flushing materials into the furnace. This method is quite vital for operational conditions of blast furnace shops of iron and steel works of Ukraine, that face shortage of flushing materials of domestic production. The efficiency of application of the existing and proposed methods of flushing blast furnace hearths was estimated. For operation conditions of iron and steel works of Ukraine the method of hearth periphery flushing, based on alternation of the amount of coal powder fuel which is blown into the furnace during the period of discharge of liquid smelting products seems to be more rational.

This paper presents the results of a study of the damageability and wear of mold sleeves of a section continuous casting ma-chine (CCM) when casting in an industrial environment. Typically, wear occurs at the bottom of the wide wall at the farthest from the corners. The amount of steel poured through the mold liner inevitably has an intense thermal and mechanical effect on it. And gradually the geometry of its inner working surface changes, as a result of which the quality of the continuously cast billet deteriorates and after a certain number of melts the sleeve has to be taken out of service. The reasons for the failure of a liner can be dif- ferent and depend on a number of factors. The this article several types of sleeves with different of the working cavity. All sleeves divided into 3 groups and the change in geometric and warpage of the studied. MCS-3000 of areas of erosion is the insufficient adhesion strength of the chrome coating to the copper base. The areas of erosional destruction are associated with deep risks that penetrate deeply through the coating and the base material of the liner. It is also possible to associate the appearance of deep shells with ragged edges, close in shape to a circle, with violations of technology. In turn, when using a multilayer sleeve manufactured by "Kobelco", the durability of 780 heats, with uniform wear of the corner regions in the sleeve, authors of the article did not observe wear on the edges of the sleeve. These sleeves were operated without visible disturbances in the continuous casting process and showed an expected high durability. Thus, it was concluded that, subject to the technology, it is possible to significantly increase the resource of the liners. And also, in addition to the direct technological process, the personnel play an important role, on whose negligence the service life of the liners also depends.
