Bibliometric analysis of indian pulp and paper technical association journal (2005-2019) 印度纸浆与造纸技术协会期刊文献计量学分析(2005-2019)

IPPTA (Indian Pulp and Paper Technical Association) Journal is a well-known journal in the Indian pulp and paper fraternity with a publishing history of fifty-five years. This study presents a bibliometric overview of articles published in the IPPTA Journal during 2005-2019. This is the first bibliometric study of a journal completely dedicated to pulp and paper research. The bibliometric analysis included analysis of article distribution, subject classification, authorship pattern, author productivity and collaboration, geographical distribution, references, keywords, prominent institutions, and citations. It also accounts for Lotka's law of scientific productivity, relative growth rate, doubling time, frequently contributing authors and top-cited articles. It was found that during this period 830 articles were published in IPPTA Journal. The average number of articles published per year in the journal is ~56. A total of 2361 authors from 27 countries and 339 unique institutes were identified in these articles. These articles contained 1009 unique keywords, used 5968 references, and received 561 citations. 74.10% of articles were contributed by joint authors. Out of the total 5968 references cited in this journal during the period of study, 48.51% were sourced from journal articles. The overall degree of collaboration, modified collaboration coefficient, average author per article, productivity per article, and collaboration index were calculated to be 0.7410, 0.5030, 2.8446, 0.3515, and 3.8390, respectively. Nonetheless, highlighting various interesting features, this analysis also detected certain inadequacies that need to be resolved for further improvement of this journal.

This paper attempts to evaluate the scientific contributions of JP Sauvage, recipient of the Nobel Prize in the field of Chemistry during 2016. He has published 429 publications with 28362 citations during his scientific career. Most of the publications have resulted in collaboration which accounts for 414. Organic Chemistry is one of his most favored domains in which he has published 89 publications; most active collaborators are Collin JP 118 with publications, Holler M 80, Chambron JC 58, Frasconi M 53 publications. Journal articles are the most common channel of communication, where he published 323 publications of 429. His research picks top speed in the year 1996 and 1999 in which he has published 28 publications each year. His H-index accounts for 107. Finally paper concluded that Sauvage's contribution in the field of “Molecular Machine” could lead to the design of a molecular computer, placed inside the body to detect a disease before any symptoms are exhibited. Molecular machines have the potentials of becoming the main technology for implementing an advanced medical solution. The study is compiled to prove the JP Sauvage as a source of information for upcoming researchers, fellow scientists, and Library and Information centres in the field of chemistry.

Information generation is widely increasing nowadays with the advent of technology in the modern epoch. To provide this information to the users with the proper authentication and authorization, to fulfill their specific information needs, libraries and information centres need to understand the users' behavior and their requirements towards various kinds of resources. This study is conducted at Pyramid College of Business & Technology, Phagwara. On the basics of the chi-square analysis, it was depicted that all hypotheses were accepted and thus, students are well aware of the available resources in the LRC and they often use these materials for academic purposes. Moreover, information-seeking behavior varies according to various disciplines. This is also found that most of the students are satisfied with the various library resources and services.

Nano robots: A scientometric assessment of Global Publications during 2001-20 纳米机器人:2001-20年间全球出版物的科学计量学评估

A bibliometric analysis based on 1242 papers extracted from the Scopus database was carried out to provide insights into publication performances and research characteristics of “Nano Robots” during 2001-20. Bibliometric techniques and indicators were used to evaluate the performance of the most productive countries, organizations, authors, and journals. The VOSviewer and biblioshiny were used to evaluate and visual ize the interaction among productive countries/territories, organizations, authors, and keywords. The results obtained from this study may provide valuable information for researchers and policy-makers to identify present and future hotspots in “Nano-Robots” research.

The paper studied the quantitative and qualitative dimensions of quantum dots research by India for the period 2000-2019. The data for the study was sourced from the Scopus database. India's research in this field was analyzed in the global context. India contributed 4946 publications and the global output in the subject was 92,004 publications. The study analyzed publications and citation data at the global, national, institutional, and individual author level using metrics such as publication growth, international collaborative publications, citations per paper, global publication share, and activity index. The study also analyzed data by subjects intersecting quantum dots research, by quantum dots applications, technologies, and materials studied for quantum dots research. The study highlights the topmost productive countries in the world, most productive institutions, and authors in quantum research in India. Though India ranks as the fifth most productive country in the world in quantum dots research., the body of research in the subject is still small and insignificant compared to other top countries. The paper underlines the need for India's research to grow and suggests strategies for the purpose

The present study analyses the scientific productivity of KarnatakUniversity, Dharwad for the period from 1960 to 2019 using the Scopus citation database. KarnatakUniversity, Dharwad is one of the premier higher educational institutions that cater to the educational needs of North Karnataka. A total of 4990 publications were extracted from the Scopus database. The investigation endeavors to quantify the growth of KUD's scholarly literature in terms of the authorship pattern, year-wise distribution of publications and citations, domain-wise distribution of publications, a ranking of authors, ranking of highly cited publications, collaboration, and so on. The results indicate that the Science faculty has contributed 4785 (95.89 %) publications out of 4990. Among the Departments, the Department of Chemistry contributed to 1701 (34.09 %) publications, followed by Physics (870, 17.43 %) and Polymer Science (523, 10.48 %). T.M. Aminabhavi found to be the most prolific author in KarnatakUniversity, Dharwad (491, 9.84 %), followed by S.T. Nandibewoor (364, 7.29 %). The Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru was the most collaborated institute with KarnatakUniversity, Dharwad (102 publications), followed by Chonbuk National University, South Korea (94 publications). USA was the most collaborated country (258 publications, 8104 citations), followed by South Korea (161 publications, 3300 citations).

Sustainability development of green libraries and its features, importance, and standards 绿色图书馆的可持续发展及其特征、重要性和标准

The formation of green library is proceeding towards a turning point, giving rise to the green library movement comprising of libraries, librarians, towns, cities, colleges, and university campuses executing to greening libraries and lessening their environmental impact. The paper highlights the conditions of the green library, green library standards, needs, features, buildings, and green library initiatives in India. It also gives an overview of green library programs and courses in the present scenario. There are some environmental changes such as climate change and energy depletion by which it affects the information resources and the programs libraries provide to their users. The main aim of green buildings is to grow and use energy-efficient resources in maintenance, the construction which maintains the overall life of the library building. The paper concludes by saying that Libraries must respond to this increasing focus on the Green library Movement and take initiatives in making a library green.

Quantum robotics: A scientometrics assessment of global publications during 1993-2020 量子机器人:1993-2020年全球出版物的科学计量学评估

The study examines global research on "Quantum Robotics" on quantitative and qualitative metrics to understand the status of research in the subject at the global, national, institutional, and individual level. The analysis is based on 650 publications as indexed in the Scopus database for the period 1993-2020. The study provides a window to most productive countries, organizations and authors in the subject, provides a distribution of publications across broad subjects, identifies top modes of research communication, and describes the characteristics of highly-cited papers. The quantum robotics research registered a 33.92% annual average growth, received an average of 9.47 citations per paper (CPP) since publication during 1993-2020, which was 16.31 CPP in 1993-2006 and 8.53 CPP in 2007-2020. Only 12 of the 650 publications (1.85% share) have registered as highly cited papers. China and the USA lead the world ranking with a global publication share of 21.38% and 17.38% respectively during the period.

Significance of libraries in indian education policies 图书馆在印度教育政策中的意义

Education policy is a very important government policy document to promote basic to higher-level education in the whole country. The government of India has implemented two education policies yet now. The central government has announced his latest third education policy 2020 recently for implementation. This education policy is the first complete policy of the present 21st century, which has replaced the previous policy after 34 years. Under this article country's all three education policies have been deeply analysed in special reference to libraries. The article provides consolidated information on all three Indian education policies and their recommendations in special reference to libraries. This analytical approach provides useful insights into the positivity and drawback of education policies. Given the country's present expectations realistic suggestions and recommendations have been made for the development of a community-oriented library system. This article will provide useful insight and significant outlines to library professionals, educationalists, planners, and policymakers that how the country's libraries can be made more vibrant through new education policy.

Permanence and characteristics of URLs cited in the journal scientometrics: A study using PHP script 科学计量学期刊中引用的url的持久性和特征:使用PHP脚本的研究

The present study examines the permanence of URLs (Uniform Resource Locator) in the journal “Scientometrics” spanning a period of 10 years (2008-2017). It is also intended to determine the characteristic features of the URLs. A total of 2575 articles were downloaded and 96,137 references were extracted. A total of 14,261 URLs were checked for their availability. A PHP script was used to check the availability and document the error of URLs. Further, the characteristics of URLs like file extension, path depth, character length and the top-level domain were determined. The research findings indicated that out of 14,261 web-references, 6125 references contained URLs, DOIs were found in 7906 references and 230 references contained arXiv and WOS identifiers. The DOIs and arXiv identifiers were resolved to URLs for testing. It was found that 13,086 URLs were accessible and the remaining 1175 URLs were missing. The majority of errors were due to HTTP 404 error code (Not found error). The findings of the study will be helpful to authors, publishers and editorial staff to ensure that web references are accessible in the future.
