ICT has changed the traditional concept of the library. The role of the digital library in collecting varied resources has given a new dimension in the library services. Adding to this concept, the major role of the National Digital Library of India in collecting the digital resources and providing them through a single window system is a remarkable achievement. It is helpful in the teaching-learning process and promotes research and development. Now-a-day, Libraries are more powerful, dynamic and reach before the users easily without any geographical restrictions. Libraries are fast moving in this Internet era from the manual mode of action to digital access. In this direction, the use of communication technologies has redesigned the library services to the borderless world and has become the lifeblood for the users’ community. In this context, the aim of this paper is to establish the importance and different roles of the national digital library in preserving and disseminating the digital resources for the academic excellence and research growth.

ICT is a contraction of “Information Communication Technology” is a shorthand for the PCs, programming, systems, satellite connections and related frameworks that enable individuals to get to, break down, make, trade and utilize information, data, and learning in routes that, up to this point, were relatively inconceivable. The term 'ICT' is utilized conversely with the Internet. The Internet together with its applications (the most surely understood being the internet) is the foundation that unites individuals, in better places and time zones, with interactive media apparatuses for data, correspondence, information and learning administration so as to develop the scope of human capacities. The advancement of data and innovation has rolled out a breathtaking change and improvement nearly in varying backgrounds. Particularly the appealing word Information innovation has been drowned in all edges of the overall ground. In this paper, the creator has concentrated on Designing of Information correspondence Technology with the library administrations like web, e-assets, and so forth. It additionally manages the effect of creative innovation on libraries and communicates why Information correspondence innovation abilities are required for the library experts. It additionally centers around the planning of ICT based Services in Libraries.

All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi in India has recommended some online databases to subscribe to technical educational institutions in India. The present study tries to measure cost-effectiveness of downloaded papers from such a database. The study is based on the usage reports and subscription prices of the databases available in an engineering college library. It was found that most of the databases are cost-effective except only one database. Downloads were found not uniform through all the months in a year. Finally, it is concluded that online databases recommended by AICTE is useful to the users in academic institutions of India.

Analytical research is used to provide a quantitative analysis of academic literature . It is also used in mapping the implication of research in the concerned field. It is useful to assess research quality and on the account of the assessment results, allocates the position of the academic institutions. This paper highlights the different publications of health science in India published in “Indian Journal of Medical Research” and indexed in SCOPUS database. Here is an attempt to discuss the research papers, authors affiliation to different academic and research organizations, authors contribution and preferably this paper highlights the author’s geographical attachment. Bibliometric indicators including total articles, independent articles, collaborative articles, first author articles, and corresponding author articles were analyzed to compare publications between different countries and organizations. All the data and information were retrieved from the SCOPUS database on 27 April 2016 for a period from 1945 to 2015. Indian researchers have their collaboration with other 77 countries and contributed 8331 research outputs to the health sector. There are only 12,177 papers published in this journal, where New Delhi is ahead among all the major cities in India with 1686 number of publications. The number can be more if proper encouragement and adequate infrastructure is provided to the health science researchers. More collaboration can be appreciated for the improvement of research activity.

The study aims to find out the authorship pattern and degree of collaboration in business research with 89259 publications and 180226 authorships during 1998 to 2017 extracted from SCOPUS database. An average author per paper is 2.18. Bibliometric methods are used to get the results. It reveals the dominance of multi authorship over single authorship since 2005. The degree of collaboration during the study period is 0.6 and it has been increasing over the study period. Researchers in this area are showing their interest in collaborative/ team/ group research than solo research.

The open access publishing through its different models of publishing has achieved a certain level of sustainability and is growing in size and volume in the recent years. This paper attempts to analyze, what sustainability means in the context of the open access publishing, the global scenario, and the latest statistics throughout the world of the various formats of the open access publishing in India. Even the commercial publishers who initially opposed all the initiatives of open access publishing are increasingly adopting open access models. The results of this paper draw the inference that open access publishing is thriving and will continue to sustain.

The study is based on Scopus cite score metrics which provides inclusive, obvious and contemporary insights into journal impact. This paper focuses on inferential statistical analysis of Cite Score, Citations and SJR of Library and Information Science journals of Asiatic region. The study is based on Scopus Cite Score Metrics databases for the period of 2011-2015. The correlation between these factors is also analyzed in the present study. The statistical tests applied in the study are One Way ANOVA with Duncan Multiple Range Test, Kruskal- Wallis Test and Pearson Coefficient of Correlation.

This research paper explains the usage of the N-LIST e-resources among the students and faculty members of the various selected degree colleges affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. A questionnaire method was used as a tool for collection of data from the 32 selected degree colleges in Punjab and Chandigarh. The total data was collected from 466 out of 513 respondents. The total response rate is 90.84%. Out of 466 respondents, total 286 are users and 180 are non-users (faculty and student) respondents. The statistical test has been applied and the inferences have been drawn thereof for identifying the satisfaction level of the faculty and student respondents in library support and ICT infrastructural facilities by the select degree colleges of Panjab University, Chandigarh. This study helps in identifying the strengths and weakness of the consortium in evaluating the performance of N-LIST e-resources. It will also throw a flood of light on the measures needed to be undertaken to make the N-LIST consortium more effective and successful.
