In contemporary knowledge based society the novel developments mainly triggered by the advancement in information and communication technologies intensely influenced the way of accessing, preserving, conserving, and information, and thereby paved the innovative way for archiving information resources through a digital platform. In this milieu, the current study attempts to analyze the collection archived by the Library of Congress to highlight its varied features based on chosen parameters. The analysis divulges that the Library of Congress attempts to archive a wide variety of information resources ranging from Audio collection to periodicals covering a wide range of time-periods. However, the geographical distribution of collection reveals that the United States emerges as a predominant location with English as the most preferred language.

The advancement of the information technology and web technology have brought changes to existing information storage and retrieval system such as Digital library, online database, digital repository, virtual library, etc. Libraries have witnessed tremendous changes in recent years in terms of their collection and services. Information explosion and user's demand of the users required the development of a more comprehensive library collection. Publishers have now started publishing on-line version/electronic versions of their printed journals. Owing to the cost of journals, many colleges and universities are unable to procure these journals. Ministry of HRD and UGC has started procuring the e-resources from the 25 world-class publishers under consortia mode at a much reduced price for all university libraries. BHU library is one of the beneficiaries of this UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium. The present study is the part of Ph.D. research work of one of the authors. To ascertain the usage of the e-resources available to the BHU library by the teachers and scholars, this survey was conducted. The present investigation discusses the use of electronic resources (e-journals, e-books, online/ offline databases, web resources) which are made available by the INFLIBNET Centre in e-resource consortium like UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium by the teachers and scholars of BHU. The present study was conducted as a part of doctoral research work from January 2015 to July 2015.

The paper examines the bibliometric analysis of the Journal “Apeejay Business Review” (ABR) from the year 2000 to 2018. The collected data from the 19 volumes are summarized in nine tables. The study has been analyzed as a year-wise distribution of contributors, authorship patterns, contributing countries, References cited in each article and length of articles, etc. The study revealed that a total of 176 articles were published in 17 issues of the journal. Out of 176 publications, the basic objectives of the study are that it helps the contributors before submitting papers in ABR that the journals deal with and also helps the researchers, authors, and readers of the ABR.

In India collecting information like fertility of the soil, weather, growth of crops, temperature, rainfall and information regarding plantation of seeds, etc. can be collected with the help of IOT. It helps the farmers to gain information regarding all agriculture activities. With the help of internet technology, agriculture processes can be monitored through sensors, smart cameras, mobile applications and devices like mini chips. Through IOT the automated technology helps the farmers infrequent ways i.e. best utilization of resources as resources are very scared and solving their agriculture issues from finding the proper time of seeding to the cutting of crops.

Green computing is a principal technology which has an assorted interest like lessens greenhouse gas excretion, design superior corporate icon, curtailed electricity expenditure, etc. This inspection is a strive to discover the perception and approach executed by the faculty members and students towards green computing. This investigation explores the acknowledgment of budding generation bothering about green computing exercises and to pinpoint the rationale, obstacles and their outlook regarding information technology. The current review has been made by evaluating the faculty members and students at Galgotias University, Greater Noida, by using the questionnaire and random sampling techniques as tools. After the study, some recommendations have been given, which could boost the adoption of green computing in budding age group and reduce the adverse effect on the environment. Academic libraries are the heart of any academic institution and perform a crucial role in research, learning and teaching actions for academic society. Information professionals take actions to generate perception and endorse Green computing adequately and productively among academic societies and thus conserve the worldwide environment by providing the conclusive environment to society for improved living.

This study investigated the information needs of media practitioners in Lagos State, Nigeria. The study adopted a survey design and questionnaire was used as an instrument for the data collection. The population of the study comprised of media practitioners who were randomly selected from some media houses in Lagos State. A total of 123 questionnaires were distributed to the respondents of the study and 97, representing 78.9% response rate, were duly completed and returned. The results of the study revealed that the most sought type of information by the media practitioners is factual information, which is needed on a daily basis. The study also revealed that majority of the respondents use the information gathered for the purpose of general knowledge and research purpose, while research report and Internet/online database were mostly used sources for meeting their information needs. Nevertheless, it was observed that inadequate library resources, low internet connectivity, and erratic power supply constitute major obstacle encountered while searching for information. Hence, it was recommended that the media houses should make concert efforts by ensuring that they are well equipped with adequate library resources as well as providing good internet connectivity and stable power supply.

The present study is focused on the use of engineering college libraries by students and faculty members. Although numerous studies are carried out on the use of libraries few studies are focused on engineering institutions. The objective of this study is to envisage the significance of libraries in engineering colleges of Pune city meant for students and faculty members. This study has used the survey method and distributed questionnaire and collected data in person. Undergraduate and Post Graduate engineering students and regular faculty members of Pune city engineering colleges are considered for this study. Engineering college libraries are broadly used once in a week for one hour during morning and afternoon hours to study, issue/return of books, refer books and to read the newspaper. This type of study may also be conducted in management, pharmacy, and architecture institutes.

Progress of every profession, academic discipline, and society at large rides on the back of research and development. Research generates new information and knowledge. It is a standardized process of identifying the problem, collecting data or evidence, tabulating data and its analysis, drawing inference and establishing new facts in the form of information. Therefore, research is a long process and a lot of time is required to complete research work. The information and communication technology, especially the internet and the www, descended from the cyberspace help researchers a lot in this regards. There are a lot of web-based programmes, tools, sites, and open source initiatives that help researchers to make the process more efficient and organized and thus save the time of the researchers too. The research domain of library and information science has witnessed a rapid increase in the use of web-based tools in recent years. This paper addresses some web-based tools, websites, open-source initiatives that would help academic community especially research scholars immensely to customize search engines, to search relevant documents of his/her subject interest, to organize and manage citations, to assemble topic related articles and other documents in one place, to get access to open access & other e-resources and many more.

This paper focused on the measurement of satisfaction level of students and faculty members with library infrastructure provided by engineering colleges of Pune. A total 660 questionnaires were distributed among students and faculty members of engineering colleges to collect relevant data. 77.12% (509) questionnaires were received back. It was found that users are satisfied with seating arrangement, library furniture, lighting and ventilation, library cleanliness, library rules, generator facility, drinking water facility. Comparatively, respondents are less satisfied with the library group discussion hall and suggestion box facilities. It is required to point out and improve these infrastructural aspects. It is sensed that Pune city engineering college libraries need to provide Wi-Fi facility and to increase the number computers at libraries as respondents expressed these as their concrete needs.
