Professional literature usually perceives the Internet and social media from the perspective of threat. Many papers describe the risk of using the Internet, both practical one concerning threatened security or finances and psychological one pertaining to addiction or depression. However, more and more often the cyberspace is treated as the research subject in itself or an area where one can analyse behaviours of Internet users. This paper is an example of the latter approach. With the help of the Big Data analysis of social media, Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10) shall be used to compare how often suicidal behaviour symptoms occurred in Internet users’ posts this year and the year preceding the COVID-19 threat.

The text presents an excerpt from qualitative research conducted in the situation of coronavirus COVID-19 at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. 50 students took part in the qualitative research. The aim of the aforesaid research was to determine the ways in which students use Internet tools for educational purposes at the time of the pandemics and what are their expectations concerning the educational use of Internet communicators by their lecturers. The research was to diagnose the state of e-learning (with respect to the group of NCU students) and, after data analysis, to make recommendations for educational practice. The results obtained show that the majority of students use communicators for educational purposes, especially to work on projects with their colleagues. They also seek help in a group of their friends, whereas lecturers rarely appreciate possibilities of using communicators in education.

The analysis of epidemiological studies shows an increase in the number of people suffering from depression. One should also take into account those on the brink of depression and those who, for various reasons, will never be diagnosed but are ill. Depression has a detrimental effect on patients’ quality of life and poses a threat to one’s health. Additionally, it is a serious social issue that is linked with psychological consequences for a given patient’s environment and growing costs of depression treatment. The description of depression is complex and regards psycho-social factors. There are many models of depression and ways of dealing with it. The growth of knowledge about depression might contribute to early diagnosing and, in particular situations, it might prevent the illness. The model of depression presented in the theory of transactional analysis is useful in describing and understanding issues concerning depression. The specific language of transactional analysis is useful in the educational process, it also allows for analysing the phenomenon by identifying particular behaviour and utterances. This language can be used for the analysis of social media which have been reflecting real-life problems for some time.

In the period between 2016 and 2018 throughout 79 educational institutions in Poland there was implemented a project called „Wychowac czlowieka mądrego. Wprowadzenie modelu pracy wychowawczej i resocjalizacyjnej z zastosowaniem metody tutoringu szkolnego jako profilaktyki pozytywnej problemow w polskiej szkole” [“To raise a smart man. Introduction of educational and resocialisation work model with the use of school tutoring as a positive prevention of problems at a Polish school”]. The added value of the actions taken was the opportunity to make an in-depth insight into the situation of Polish school in the view of the educational system reform that was underway at that time. The changes undertaken by the Polish Ministry of National Education were associated with the liquidation of middle school stage, and thus extending the education in primary school stage by two years. This situation turned out to be a multidimensional challenge for educational institutions, but above all for the students themselves, who have discovered a new set of educational procedures, not at the beginning of their education, but in its advanced point. This paper draws attention to this specific moment, focusing on what life positions the seventh graders were characterised by at that time, and therefore what was their attitude to themselves and the world around them. The considerations made in this paper are based on research conducted on a group of 764 seventh graders, who finally confirmed their definitely lower sympathy for school, as well as a significant use of life positions that influence the occurrence of negative interpersonal relationships.
在2016年至2018年期间,波兰79所教育机构实施了一个名为“Wychowac czlowieka mńdrego”的项目。Wprowadzenie modelu pracy wychowawczej i resocjalizacyjnej z zastosowaniem metody tutoringu szkolnego jako pro-filaktyki pozytywnej problemow w polskiej szkole“[培养一个聪明人。

The 21st century is the time of dynamic technological progress. This phenomenon has a direct impact on educational processes – both at the level of needs and possibilities. And in this context, it is worth taking a closer look at what Transactional Analysis and Big Data technology possibilities can offer in this area. As D. Pankowska writes, ”Educational Transactional Analysis applies the assumptions of Transactional Analysis with reference to educational goals, conditions of its efficacy, methods of didactic and educational work, attitude to problems” (Pankowska, 212, p. 23). Additionally, it is enjoying more and more interest. However, to make certain actions really efficient, it is necessary to diagnose educational reality in a detailed and multilayered way. Big Data analytics might prove useful in this task as “it allows for taking decisions on the basis of the data that have not beena vailable or useless before. Thanks to advanced analytical techniques, […] one can analyse data sources not used before, independently or together with existing and traditionally available information” (Tanaś, 2019, p. 13).

Young people in adolescence are looking for role models and authorities, they also have an increased need for autonomy and willingness to decide about themselves. One of the places where these needs and expectations of children and adolescents are met is the Socio-Therapy Dayroom and Youth Club of the "Nest" Foundation for People in Need of Help in Katowice, where the corrective community method is used. Charges actively participate in the life and activity of the facility, as presented in the following article. The purpose of the article is to show the corrective community method and its importance for shaping social skills, as well as to present the results of the research carried out in the above-mentioned organisation.

The article presents the characteristics of The Little Professor University programme, whose aim is to support the development of social skills of pre-school and early-school children. The programme’s assumptions are based on the theoretical constructs of transactional analysis. The main objective of the programme is the development of its participants’ autonomy and preventing the use of passive strategies the way TA understands them. The text shows both a theoretical framework of the project, its practical realisation, and a general evaluation analysis of the first meeting cycle.

At present, the subject of basic and applied research is becoming a specific type of educational transaction whose aim is to know the cognitive determinants of the educational process. Research findings relating to the brain and mind indicate that if we can gain a better understanding of a pupil’s cognitive apparatus, this may lead to more effective teaching of low-performing pupils. When considering the causes of a pupil’s unsatisfactory school performance, it is important to consider which elements of thinking require activation during information processing, or task performance. Knowing the aspects of motor and mental speed and cognitive flexibility of the pupil is the starting point for cognitive stimulus transactions. From this knowledge, subsequently generated transactions can be carried out in an individual intervention aimed at remediating the possible cognitive deficiencies in low performing pupils. In the paper we present the results of the pilot research (as a part of more complex experimental study ), the intention of which is to assess the suitability and the selection of appropriate research tools in the diagnosis of motor speed in pupils. The diagnosis is an introduction to research on the assessment of the impact of the relationship between the motor speed and the speed of information processing in a student on the their success in learning. The subjects are students aged 8-10, gender-diverse. During the diagnosis: Mira Stambak hatch tests, the "Looping" test, the rate of writing the word "house" by Elzbieta Grzegorzewska test, Rene Zazzo Card Test, Ozierecki test of motor speed development, test of cognitive functions Trail Making Test (TMT) Dean Delis, Edith Kaplan and Joel Kramer. The following have been taken into account: accuracy of the test, time needed to carry out the test, clarity of instructions, criteria for evaluation of results and interest of students. After analyzing the results, it has been found that the proper tests will be conducted with the following tests: Looping, Hatching and Trail Making Test.
