The new concept of software systems solutions based on Web services is becoming more popular in information technology. The concept of "SaaS“ provides cost savings and eliminates the need for installation and operation of software on the user side. Especially for endusers this concept brings significant benefits. In engineering software applications it offers the possibility to use this concept for wide layer of users. One industry that is undergoing a dynamic expansion is the area of building management systems. Implementation of applications based on a "SaaS" can bring distinct advantages against common software solutions.

The goal of this paper is to analyse, define, and summarise the requirements on networks connecting telematic technologies based on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). The paper describes the methodics of setting and a general concept of technological networks interface based on available and applicable standards Focus is set on data transmission in form of a video-stream and its tunnelling through xDSL transmission technology. Further the implementation of the designed compression algorithm and interface between open and technological-type networks is described. The summary describes a proposed subjective method for quality evaluation of transmitted video-flow for the needs of telematics supervision systems dispatchers.

Electromagnetic compatibility - EMC and functional safety can no longer be treated as two separate disciplines when electrical or electronic systems are considered performing safety-related functions. Furthermore the usual EMC approach to define immunity requirements on the basis of availability and economical conditions cannot be applied to immunity issues regarding safety-related systems. And on the other hand the approach within functional safety to emphasize the relevance of the SIL cannot be transferred in a simple way into the EMC area. An appropriate approach to combine both disciplines consists of the introduction of special immunity levels and test methods in connection with a particular performance criterion “Functional Safety”.

The influence of relax annealing aimed at removal of the residual stresses (so-called stress-relief annealing) on various magnetic parameters, such as the relative magnetic amplitude permeability, coercivity, remanent flux density, etc. is discussed. Samples of steel cable tray material which is a part of commercially available cable routing system were investigated in order to find information about the properties important from the point of view of EMC requirements in extremely demanding industrial environment.

This paper investigates the influence of the different loads on the output voltage of the single phase voltage source inverter (VSI). It describes the influence of the different types of loads (linear and non-linear) in case of two regulation schemes (open loop and closed loop regulation). Simulation results are presented for description of that influence.

This paper presents a time travel estimation model based on a decision tree. The proposed model was tested on the most widely used arterial in Prague and also in the Czech Republic. This road section has many unmeasured inputs and outputs and with regards to only two detectors within a section it is difficult to estimate the travel time. A temporary installation of ALPR system is used for training the decision tree model which consequently provides reliable travel time estimation.

Resolver sensor is utilized as absolute position transducer in many industrial motion-control applications where robustness and ability to operate in harsh environment is required. In real system, the quality of position and speed measurement is badly affected by the resolver errors and by the noise. In this paper, the software-based error-compensation technique is integrated into the control structure of the drive. The compensation scheme adapts online to the errors in the resolver signals in order to improve accuracy of the measured position and speed. Oversampling and averaging technique is used to reduce noise and improve resolution. The performance of the compensation scheme and the effect on the drive operation is verified by simulation.

In this paper, we present the performance of the generalized type II hybrid selective repeat (SR) ARQ scheme using punctured convolutional coding and the code combining technique in Multi-Carrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) systems by computer simulations with different parameters. Multi-Carrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) allows high data rate transmission in a severe noisy channel without the need of a complex receiver implementation as it reduces the inter symbol interference (ISI) and exploits frequency diversity. With the code combining, at successive decoding attempts for a data packet, the decoder for error correction operates on a combination of all received sequences for that packet. It is found that the system throughput efficiency increases when the modulation level, starting code rate and h values decreases and while the size of CDMA code matrix increases. Besides, it is observed that the system performance depends on not only the level of modulation but also the type of modulation.

The paper deals with minimization of supply power and energy for induction motor (IM) based on maximal torque per ampere (MTPA) strategy. The article describes two MTPA algorithms. Firstly such algorithm is proposed for IM model of which doesn't take iron losses into consideration. Subsequently the second algorithm is based on the model of IM, which respects iron losses. Both algorithms are realized under indirect vector control of IM. The proposed control algorithms are simulated in Matlab-Simulink environment.

This paper deals with device for online, real time analysis of recuperative current with the usage of microprocessor. This system is used in railway transport for measurement and analysis of recuperative-currents from converter in railway engine. Recuperative currents from converters in railway engines, flows through rail back to the distribution point. Content of higher harmonics in these currents must not exceed limits specified in international standard UIC 550-3, so exact measurement and analysis of this harmonics is necessary. Proposed device uses microprocessor for real time measurement and analysis of recuperative currents.
