The main purpose of the paper is to consider the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the situation of youth in chosen countries of the European Union in the years 2009–2021. The study area includes four countries: Poland, Germany, Spain and France. The structure of the paper is following. At first, the concepts of precarity and labour market theories are presented. Then the statistical analysis of the situation of young people in Polish, German, Spanish and French labour markets is conducted to assess the economic position of youth in the labour market in the aspect of unemployment and to scrutinise temporary and precarious employment among youth. The principal research interest includes the impact of the pandemic on the situation of youth in the labour market. The conclusion is presented at the end of the paper. The article uses the methods of descriptive statistics and simple statistical measures describing the dynamics of studied phenomena. Main conclusion of the paper is that the labour market in the pandemic era has become hugely challenging for youth. They often work in crisis-sensitive sectors and workplaces. As a result, young people experience increased job insecurity, relatively higher unemployment rate and worse economic conditions compared to total population in the labour market. Due to the results of our analysis implementing the dual education system at the macro level is the strongly recommended solution for improving the situation of youth in the labour market.

The article tests the hypothesis that the labour market in Poland has been polarised between 2008 and 2016 and makes an attempt at showing the course of the process across the regional labour markets. The database used in the research was compiled by merging data from labour force surveys and wage structure surveys conducted in 2008 and 2016. The article is structured as follows. Section 1 is a review of literature relating to the matter under consideration. In section 2, the research methodology and the data used are characterised. Section 3 presents the results of the investigation into employment and wage structures in Polish voivodeships and Macro-regions. In Section 4, the findings from the econometric analysis are discussed. The last section contains the main conclusions from the research. The conclusions are as follows. Firstly, in the period under study, wage changes in Poland formed a U-shaped pattern, similar to those observed inlabour markets in other development countries. Secondly, the econometric analysis revealed wage polarisation in Poland between 2008 and 2016. Thirdly, only the Śląskie voivodeship and the Southern Macroregion were found to be likely to have polarised wages in that period.

The study deals with the problem of professional activity of disabled people in relation to the quality of life and job satisfaction. 34 disabled people professionally active participated in the study. The “Job Satisfaction Scale” was used to assess the cognitive aspect of overall job satisfaction, the “Cantril Ladder” to measure the quality of life, and a questionnaire to collect metric data. Statistical inference tools were frequency distributions, Spearman’s rank correlation analysis, regression analysis, paired t-student tests, and the Kruskal-Wallis test. According to research results, the current quality of life of the respondents is moderately good, and the prognosis of future life is optimistic. Job satisfaction, which is significantly determined by the subjective assessment of income, is of significant importance for the quality of life. It is concluded that the quality of life, job satisfaction and economic working conditions are significantly correlated.

Charity and mercy, that is, selfless help to another person who is in need, are key concepts and commands in Christianity. However, these ordinances apply not only to individuals, but also to the church institutions that constitute local parishes at the lowest level of the organizational hierarchy. The largest religion in Poland in terms of the number of followers is Christianity. Its biggest groups in relation to its followers are Catholics (almost 94% of the Poles) and Protestants (in various factions, including almost a million Poles). Institutions belonging to both fractions carry out numerous aid activities on a national scale. However, comparative research at the micro level, i.e. on the example of individual cities, is rarely undertaken. The aim of the article is to characterize the aid activities carried out by parishes in Lodz belonging to two currents of Christianity – Catholicism and Protestantism. In particular, I intend to show the differences in the aid activities of the two denominations and determine their reasons.
