Design of a 5.8 GHZ rectenna by using metamaterial inspired small antenna 基于超材料启发小天线的5.8 GHZ天线设计

In this paper, we present a new inspired metamaterial rectenna which is designed in the microstrip line structure at 5.8 GHz for the wireless transmission of microwave power. The proposed rectenna achieves RF-to-DC conversion efficiency of 52% and a DC voltage of 0.8 V when the received RF power is 1 mW at 5.8 GHz. The feasibility of this concept is presented through full-wave simulations. These simulations results will be updated at the conference with measurement results.

Steganography is the art of dissimulating information into a digital signal like audio, image, or video. It is the technique of hiding secret data into a carrier to convey messages. Digital images are one of the media that is suitable to convey messages due to several reasons. Firstly, digital images are often transmitted over the Internet which would arouse little suspicion. Secondly, the high correlation between pixels provides rich space for data embedding.

Sky status: A local analysis of ground based digital images 天空状态:对地面数字图像的局部分析

Cloud coverage obscures the sunlight, it can be identified as the major factor that significantly decreases the total irradiance received by photovoltaic panels, and then the power generation is intermittent. In this paper, and in order to predict the energy production by a solar installation, we analyze the acquired ground based images of the sky to extract its actual status (clear, partially cloudy, or totally cloudy). An embedded system is dedicated to simultaneously capture images and estimate the power generation. The accurate sky status is determined by comparing the brightness of the sun zone in the digital image to its surrounding area. The experimental results are promising and shows that the developed techniques can be easily embedded in solar plants to accurately predict the short time energy production.

Radial Charlier moment invariants for 2D object/image recognition 二维物体/图像识别的径向Charlier矩不变量

Radial Charlier moments as discrete orthogonal moments in the polar coordinate are better descriptor in image processing applications and pattern recognition. However, the translation and scale invariant property of these moments have not been studied due to its complexity of the problem. In this paper, we present a method to construct a set of rotation invariants extracted from radial Charlier moments, named radial Charlier moment invariants (RCMI). Experimental results show the efficiency and the robustness to reconstruction error (MSE), peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) of the proposed method.

Reduction of Four-Wave Mixing nonlinear effects in dense WDM optical long-haul networks 密集WDM光长途网络中四波混频非线性效应的减小

In this paper, Chirped Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) has been introduced to reduce the Four Wave Mixing (FWM) nonlinear effects in dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) for optical long-haul network. The proposed method has been investigated based on different chromatic dispersion levels. The objective of this procedure is to minimize the FWM nonlinear effects in dense WDM optical network regardless of chromatic dispersion phenomenon. As known, the main problem about treating FWM and Chromatic dispersion in optical fibers is that they are inversely proportional. That is why a module able to fulfill these two main limitation simultaneously is of great interest. The WDM transmission system is simulated using the advanced tools of Optisystem 7.0. The simulation results have been examined and validated by analyzing the optical spectrum analyzer and the eye diagram for the eight optical channels.

Improvement of notch performances for UWB monopole antennas using CSRR and SSRR 利用CSRR和SSRR改进超宽带单极天线陷波性能

In order to improve the notch performance for UWB monopole antennas, a synthesis design of single band-notched UWB antenna using the Single Split Ring Resonator SSRR and Complementary Split Ring Resonator CSRR, is presented. These techniques provide a wide rejection with enhancement of rejection level, due to the high coupling between the SSRR and the ground plane and the use of the CSRR dynamic resonance. Proposed monopole antennas with loaded SSRR and CSRR particle are fabricated and measured to validate the design performance. A good agreement is achieved between measurement and simulation.

Empirical modeling of the narrowband Power Line Communication channel 窄带电力线通信信道的经验建模

This paper proposes an analytical model of the indoor Low-Voltage (LV) narrowband Power Line Communication (PLC) channel in the frequency range from 10 to 500 kHz. After the experimental demonstration of the frequency selective attenuation and the non-linear phase response of the PLC channel, a multipath transmission channel model is described by the superposition of delayed and attenuated propagation paths echoes. The low-frequency power line cable attenuation is linearly approximated based on two-conductor Transmission Line (TL) theory and field measurements. The Matrix Pencil (MP) algorithm is used for the model parameters identification and allows, with a quick convergence and a very low residual error, to detect the dominant propagation paths number as well as their corresponding weighting factors and delays. The proposed model, which is defined for any topology with a limited set of parameters, is validated through experimental measurements in the CENELEC/FCC/ARIB bands.

Frequency reconfigurable multiband meander patch antenna for cognitive radio with wide tuning frequency range 频率可重构多频带弯曲贴片天线用于宽调谐频率范围的认知无线电

Reconfigurable antennas share attractive properties that can be used to enhance modern wireless systems performances. In this paper, a compact multiband meander antenna with frequency reconfigurable capabilities is studied and presented. The reference antenna is based on a meander patch structure radiating at F1=0.7, F2=1.46, F3=2.03, F4=2.75GHz and easy to be integrated on PCB (Printed Circuit Board). In order to electronically sweep the resonance frequencies over wide bands, one varactor diode was integrated between the meander patch printed on the top layer and a floating ground plane on the back layer. When applying reverse voltage, the proposed antenna is able to reach wide frequency ranges from 0.7 to 0.98GHz for F1, 1.46 to 2.02GHz for F2 and 2.23 to 2.47GHz for the new generated resonance frequency F5 (appears when applying a voltage V=9V (C=1.5pF) and more). The measured results agree well with simulations, good radiation properties were obtained. Realized prototype and related results are presented and discussed.

Comparative study of modulation techniques performances for communication over narrowband Powerline channel characteristics 窄带电力线信道通信调制技术性能的比较研究

In this paper, we propose a study of modulation techniques performances in order to design a robust modem for narrowband Powerline Communications, with the required quality of service. We focus on binary and quaternary narrowband modulations, by the means of BER simulations and we expose modulated signals to real measured channel attenuation and impaired with channel noise, on the frequency band of 9 kHz to 500 kHz. At BER equal to 10−2 and a moderately attenuated channel, BPSK gave better performance than BFSK with a gain of 4 dB and MSK gained 5 dB over QPSK.

Modeling of the thickness of a Submerged Tube by the Artificial Neural Network 基于人工神经网络的沉管厚度建模

Several theoretical and experimental studies show that the characterization of a tube can be done through the cut-off frequencies of the anti-symmetric circumferential waves A1 propagating around the tube of various radius ratio b/a (a: outer radius and b: inner radius). This work investigates the abilities of Artificial Neural Networks ANN to predict the thickness of a tube immersed in water for various cut-frequency of anti-symmetric circumferential wave A1. The useful data determinated from calculated trajectories of natural modes of resonances, were used to develop and to test the performances of these models. The ANN model was trained using Levenberg-Marquardt(LM) algorithm. Several configurations are evaluated during the development of these networks. The Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mean Relative Error (MRE), Standard Error (SE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Correlation Coefficient (R) were the statistical performance indices, that were used to evaluate the accuracy of the various models. Based on the comparison between ANN and theoretical method, it was found that the ANN model can be applied successfully in the in the modeling of the thickness of a Submerged Tube.
