Towards learning integral strategy of branch and bound 对学习分支定界积分策略的探讨

Branch and bound is the preferred algorithm used for solving MILP problems. It involves two fundamental strategies that are node selection strategy and branching strategy. Whereas the learning literature has been focused in dealing with just one strategy on the same time, we design a two-in-one strategy of branch and bound algorithm regarding the fact that are intuitively dependent. To do so, we apply the well-known SVM algorithm to the well-known set of problems MIPLIP.

Phase correlation method to the optical flow using neuronal networks 基于神经网络的光流相位相关方法

the motion estimation problem in image sequences is one of the most important tasks in computer vision. Thus, many methods were proposed to resolve this problem, but no universal method has been developed to determine the motion in all the situations and for all the types of objects in motion. In this paper, we propose to combine the advantages of neural methods in particular EMAN method and the frequency phase correlation method. The new method is consider as a connectionist neural method of motion estimation with discontinuities. The proposed method consists of two phases, the first one; the most likely motion in each pixel is estimated by exploiting the principle of Self-Organizing Maps of Kohonan with the algorithm of winner takes all. The second phase is a regularization phase of the displacement field with consideration of discontinuities. The new method is tested on the two real sequences.

Coupled selective electromagnetic waves in 1D photonic crystal with two planar cavities 双平面腔一维光子晶体中的耦合选择电磁波

In this paper, the Green function approach is used to study the propagation of electromagnetic waves through a finite photonic crystal containing two similar flat cavities. The effects of the layers thicknesses cavities and their positions on the transmission spectra are studied. The results show the occurrence of selective electromagnetic modes (one or more) in the band gaps of the periodic photonic crystal. These modes are well-defined, whose frequencies are modulated by the appropriate choice of the thicknesses and the positions of flat defects. Hence, this structure can be used in the optical telecommunications field, in the design of new filters, sensors and even for multiplexing and other engineering devices.

Soft output detection for MIMO systems using binary polar codes 使用二进制极码的MIMO系统的软输出检测

Polar codes are proven capacity-achieving and are shown to have equivalent or even better finite length performance than turbo/LDPC codes under some improved decoding algorithm over the Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channels. Polar coding is based on the so-called channel polarization phenomenon induced by a transform over the underlying binary-input channel. The channel polarization is found to be universal in many signal processing problems and is applied to the coded modulation schemes. In this paper, a small length polar, encoded for a MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) systems with soft output MMSE-SIC (Minimum Mean Square Error-Successive Cancellation) detection, is applied to improve the coded performance while reducing the complexity. In order to prove this theory, we compare the proposed MMSE-SIC BER to Zero Forcing (ZF) and Maximum Likelihood (ML) by using 2*2 MIMO systems into Rayleigh channel with BPSK (Binary Phase-Shift Keying) modulation. Simulation results show that MMSE-SIC complexity is lower than the two others detections. We show that the performance of the proposed approach using polar code (128, 64) at 10−2 BER (Bit Error Rate) is around 3dB i.e. 0,66% compared to the optimal ML, while ZF performance is the worst.

A neighbor signal strength based coverage for reducing routing overhead in Mobile Ad hoc Networks 一种基于邻居信号强度的覆盖,用于减少移动自组网中的路由开销

Due to high mobility of nodes, the major challenge of mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) is the frequent link breakages which lead to numerous path failures and route discoveries. This paper introduces a novel signal strength based algorithm for RREQs forwarding (SAODV) to better exploit the neighbor coverage knowledge and hence reduce routing overhead in MANETs. The simulation results confirm the efficiency of our proposed scheme in terms of RREQ packet overhead, packet delivery ratio, throughput, and eventually average end-to-end delay.

Fast JPEG compressed domain image retrieval 快速JPEG压缩域图像检索

Content-based image retrieval, which is based on the principle of deriving visual similarity based on extracted image features, can be useful, especially since most images are unannotated. However, while almost all images are stored in compressed form (most in JPEG format), the majority of CBIR algorithms operate in the uncompressed pixel domain. This not only leads to a computational overhead for feature calculation, image compression can also lead to a drop of retrieval accuracy, in particular at extreme compression rates. In this paper, we present efficient and effective CBIR techniques that operate directly in the JPEG compressed domain, hence not requiring full decompression for feature extraction. In particular, we explore how CBIR features can be extracted from DCT coefficients, from differentially coded DC data, and from information contained in the JPEG headers.

Slotted patch antenna loaded with ferrite 装有铁氧体的开槽贴片天线

This study presents the investigation on the effect of rectangular slot on resonance frequency, return loss and band widths, gain and directivity of rectangular microstrip patch antenna. The design is achieved by cutting the rectangular slots at the radiating element of the patch antenna; in the other step we loaded the films of ferrite between the substrate and the radiating element of the antenna. Compared to the conventional rectangular patch antenna slot loading antennas give the better performance in resonant frequency, loading of ferrite films give a good return loss, for these reasons we have associated the two techniques simultaneously in the same patch antenna for benefit from its advantages and minimized manufacturing cost.

This paper presents a compact ultra-wideband (UWB) microwave radar transmitter. The developed design presents low-power and low-cost ultra-short pulse with a minimum of the ringing in the output waveform. Ultra-short pulse has been generated by avalanche pulse generator and sharpened with a step recovery diode (SRD). In order to improve the simulation response and to increase the rise-time of the pulses, a new model of a step recovery diode (SRD) was used as a sharpener circuit. Making the discharge path as short as possible, a minimum of the ringing has been obtained in the output pulse, around 3,6% in overshoot. Compact pulse generator circuit structure is completely fabricated using low-cost microstrip technology characteristic. The measurement results present generator Gaussian wave form pulses over 6.4 V in amplitude and 440 fall time at 100 KHz. Good Agreements between the measured and calculated result are achieved.

Robustness optimization for solving the deployment of RFID readers problem 鲁棒性优化解决RFID读写器的部署问题

Radio Frequency identification (RFID) is a new technology that can identify objects without physical contact using radio frequency waves. The RFID system consists of a Tag attached in objects (people, plants, equipments, etc) and contains a unique information. The tags are identifiable by a Reader, when they're located in its interrogation range. The deployment of readers problem with the aim to optimize several objectives by focusing on the coverage, the number of deployed readers and their interference. In practice, the optimal solutions to the deployment readers problem can significantly degrade because of uncontrollable variations on the parameters. In this work, we introduce for the first time the robustness multi-objective optimization for solving the deployment of RFID reader problem. Therefore, we reach the robust solutions that are optimal and insensitive to uncertainties on the optimization parameters.
